Motivation - Faran is a corporative of 6 owners with a total quota of 2.8 Million Litters/y Starting Point - 2010 due to inefficient management of various parameters, the farms lost approx. 100K$ over all. Intervention Project Bar was asked to perform a survey and offer point solution that once implemented, would turn around this loss and yield an operating profit to the partnership Results - Following study and implementation of Project Bar recommendations, the farm has ended 2011 in a profit of 400K$ Costs - The costs of the consulting services and direct implementation of the improvements was less than 20% 21

Process - A pilot of 10 farms were selected for a preliminary study. This study included: Review of the herd current management and health Review of KPI s for feed rations, Cow To calf ratio etc. Review of operational issues including feed chain Review of the economical C/F, P/L and B/S aspects Quality and Chemical analysis were also conducted 22

Implementation - A computerized system was introduces and fine tuned over a period of the last year. Improved herd current management was implemented New feed ratio, Cow To calf ratio were implemented Feed chain was computerized and improved Quality and Chemical analysis were conducted 23

Case Study 2 The Ghenia Project - Romania 24

Background Ghenia, established in 2009, its size is 12.5 hectares. The herd includes 450 COW and 360 CUFS (Capacity 600 / 360 ) Feed Centre - Advanced Feed MIX, Fermentation is on grounds with a capacity for up to 2000 COWS 25
