Food and nutritional security is the effectiveness of the right to regular and permanent access to a sufficient amount of quality food, without compromising the access to other basic needs, based on healthy practices which respect cultural diversity and are culturally, economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. (Art. 3º of the Food and NutriAonal Security Law, September 15th, 2006)
