You are subject to be disconnected by the utility company after 45 days if an extension has not been granted by the electrical inspection in writing) Final Electrical Inspection Final Building Inspection (project is 100% complete) General Notes All manufactured homes (if permitted by Zoning or Conditional Use) must have a KY B-1 Seal provided by the KY Office of Manufactured Housing unless you are the first owner. All manufactured/modular homes must have a KY C- 1 Seal provided by the certified installer. ***Pool: All in-ground pools must comply with Section AG101 AG106.5 of the KY Residential Code, and shall have a barrier/fence. Work starting before a permit is issued: Section 108.6 of the Kentucky Residential Code (KRC) and Section 109.2 of the Kentucky Building Code (KBC): Any person who commences any work on a building, structure, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system before obtaining the necessary permits may be subject to an additional fee
established by the building official which shall be in addition to and equal in the amount of the original fee but not less than $500. Electrical work can only be done by persons licensed by the State of KY, or by a person which owns and occupies the property. An electrical permit can only be issued to a KY licensed electrical Contractor. The contractor is required to be properly licensed to work in the City of Glasgow. o All Sub Contractors or any other persons working on a project must have a City of Glasgow Occupational License (Fill out attached sheets). In accordance with the Zoning Ordinance all Commercial / Industrial Public Parking Areas must be paved with either asphalt or concrete. If this applies to your project, which will it be? Construction Requirements Footings: 24 or more below undisturbed soil x 24 wide x minimum 10 thick (unless required to be more by the KRC/KBC). All concrete must be a minimum of 2500 psi (unless required to be more by the KRC/KBC) with steel fiber mix, or rebar on chairs. o The above minimums may not apply to every scenario. Verify with project engineer / architect if applicable. Insulation: An insulation inspection is not provided by this office, however, the general contractor is responsible to meet the International Energy Conservation Code of at least the following: Walls R13, crawl space floor joists R19, crawl space ground covered with 6 mil plastic, attic R-38, cathedral ceilings R30, ducts R4, ceilings of basements without conditioning R19. o Requirements may vary for other than residential applications, consult the design professional for the project. Drainage: Grade must slope away from the building at least 6 in the first 10, or be provided with adequate drainage by alternate means. In accordance with the KRC & KBC a 42 Guard rail shall be placed around any elevated surface that is more than 30 from grade level. No portion of the guard rail shall have a gap in it of more than 4 (spindles spaced 4 o.c.). Any set of stairs with 4 or more risers shall have a graspable handrail on one side of a staircase (both sides when governed by KBC). This is a separate apparatus than the aforementioned guard rail. In accordance with the KRC & KBC a smoke detector is required in each sleeping room, adjacent to each sleeping room, and on each level of the structure. If the building has an attached garage or gas fired appliances the detector must be a smoke / carbon monoxide combination.
