1. Company Profile Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) acquired the investment certificate in June 12, 2008. This project includes steel mill, port and power plant, presents comprehensively the most advanced production process and centralizes all the facilities in one single area for the best synergy to minimise cost of operation, logistics and administration. Son Duong Port Son Duong Wharf The area stands 3,318.72 hectares, including a 2,025.37 hectares land area and a 1,293.35 hectares sea area. The employees for project phase I will be only around 5,000 people. The Son Duong port (926.53 hectares) will be an international harbor. In addition, the steel mill is initially with annual capacity of 7.10 million tons of crude steel and 11-berth wharves to meet the increasing demand on steel in Vietnam and ASEAN countries. FHS adopts heavy duty equipment, such as the blast furnace of 4,350 m 3, basic oxygen furnaces, 100% continuous casters, modern rolling mills, etc. After the project is completed, FHS will be the largest integrated steel mill in ASEAN countries.
