eurorail Steel culverts and tunnels For the improvement of wet or dry infrastructure, Eurorail BV is able to recommend, produce, supply and construct steel plate culverts and tunnels for use of e.g. vehicle traffic tunnels, wildlife/ecofriendly underpasses or storage silos. Flexible construction The structure of the culverts and tunnels is made of strong light-weight material that can be easily and quickly constructed within or next to a building site. Thanks to the short building time, nuisance is reduced to a minimum. The steel plate culverts are available in different variations, the most common of which are: Mouth profiles: Tunnel profiles: Round profiles: e.g. as culverts e.g. as vehicle traffic tunnels e.g. as wildlife/eco-friendly tunnels or storage silos Other standard shapes are available as well, such as elliptic-, arch- and super-span-arch profiles. If required, profile ends can be produced with a steel finish on the edge ór covered with concrete elements. Culverts used for water flow channels can be constructed with a fender. It is also possible to provide the culvert with a walking strip for small wildlife and amphibians. If necessary, this can be combined with the Eurorail amphibian stop. Specifications The steel plate culverts and tunnels are designed in accordance with the Klöppel/Glock theory. By means of this method it is possible to calculate the load that the structure is able to tolerate. A standard covering of at least 60 cm. should be used, calculated from the top of the culvert to the ground level. The thickness of the epoxy coating varies from a minimum of 90 microns to 2 x 120 microns. The culverts and tunnels should be embedded in accordance with the building regulations. Determining the plate thickness depends on traffic class and the covering. The minimum plate thickness of the elements, including an 1 mm. corrosion supplement, should be 3 mm. for culverts/tunnels less than two meters wide and 4 mm. for culverts/tunnels more than two meters wide. Other dimensions are also possible. All steel elements are fully hot-dip galvanized in accordance with DIN EN-ISO 1461. Depending on soil condition, it is also possible to provide the galvanized steel elements with an additional epoxy coating. eurorail Mouth profiles Mouth profiles are frequently used on water flow projects. A great benefit of mouth profiles is that they have a greater capacity to allow water to flow freely through the structure in case of a rising water level than the round profiles. Mouth profiles type MA have more construction height than the mouth profiles type MB, resulting in 20% more strength. Height Span 4

Tunnel profiles Tunnel profiles are particularly suitable as waterway culverts or vehicle traffic tunnels. Due to their shape, tunnel profiles have very favourable static characteristics, making them very suitable for high weight. On the basis of these profiles shapes the necessary standard transversal sections can be realized as rectangular clearance diagrams best. Height Span eurorail 7 7
