Foreword List of contents Vorwort Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing Schüco Solar products and placing your trust in our company. Prior to first installation, we recommend you attend a training course at our training centre or, if this is not possible, that you arrange for on-site training from one of our service engineers. Training and qualification of the fabricators/installers Schüco requires that installation only be carried out by technically qualified and authorised personnel with a recognised qualification (verified by a state or national body) or the appropriate expertise in the relevant technical field. Please call our technical support if you have any questions or suggestions +44 19 08 28 91 88 Please note the following information regarding the relevant laws, legislation and technical regulations When setting up solar energy systems, the laws and regulations at local, state, European and international level that apply to the country in question must be observed. Accepted practice as usually codified in standards, guidelines, specifications, general and technical regulations laid down by local and national bodies, power supply companies, trade organisations and technical committees in the relevant sector must be followed. The installation of solar units may put additional strain on the existing substructure and make increased demands in terms of watertightness with regard to roof, wall and sealing and this must be taken into account accordingly. To meet regulations aimed at preventing accidents, it may be necessary to use safety equipment (straps, scaffolding, harnesses, etc). Such safety equipment is not supplied and must be ordered separately. The packaging consists of cardboard, wood and labelled plastic. Dispose of the packaging in accordance with the relevant laws and with technical regulations. Adhere to the environmental regulations with regard to recycling, re-use and disposal of consumables and components in accordance with the national and local regulations. General information, hazard warnings and safety instructions Important Important Risk of death or injury from falling. Wear a safety harness. However, do not attach the safety harness to the mounting systems or to chimneys Danger to people and the environment from falling objects. Secure the site against falling objects. Section off the site if necessary. Important Important Risk of damage to the product. The hydraulic connections are not suitable for carrying the collectors they may break off. Use carrying handles (221 088) or appropriate cables to transport the collectors. Risk of death or injury, could endanger the environment and the product. Do not step on mounting rails once installed. Do not use them as ladders or fixing points for the safety harness. The mounting rails, roof anchors and roof construction will be damaged and lose their structural loadbearing capacity. Use the normal roof construction (rafters) for the points mentioned. Important Risk of damage to the hydraulic pipes from freezing liquids. Never fill the solar circuit with water. Use Schüco solar fluid only. The Schüco solar fluid is intended for a temperature range from -24 C to +200 C and guarantees sufficient corrosion protection. Important Risk of scalding from hot water or pipework. The temperature of the collectors and pipework during maintenance or servicing may be a maximum of 70 C. If necessary, leave the installation for some time before proceeding. Shade the collectors if necessary.. Important Risk of death or injury from electric shock. For buildings which require lightning protection, the collector array must be integrated into this. Product description: MSE 310 on-roof mounting system The Schüco MSE 310 on-roof mounting system is used to install between one and five (depending on the kit) Schüco CTE 319 CH collectors. It must be used in accordance with the proof of structural integrity (to see the proof of structural integrity, visit www.schueco.com). The MSE 310 on-roof mounting system can be used on roof pitches between a minimum of 22 and maximum of 65. The system statics permit a maximum installation height from 0 to 20 m. The total weight (system, filling etc.) is approx. 46 kg per collector. The specific weight per m2 collector surface is approx. 20 kg. Do not exceed the roof load-bearing capacity during installation. An alternative use or a use beyond this remit is not in accordance with its purpose. Incorrect use can result in the death or serious injury of the user or a third party, and may damage the appliance, the installation or other material assets. The manufacturer/supplier shall not be liable for any resulting damage. The user alone will bear the risk. Due to the use of pure materials in the construction, the individual components of Schüco solar products can be recycled or re-used (see List of materials section).. Product description/snow and wind load/one Turn The maximum permissible pressure loading from snow and wind load is 1.1 kn/m². The maximum permissible loading from negative wind load is 1.0 kn/m². Snow/wind load As a system manufacturer, Schüco recommends conforming to DIN 1055 for structural calculations. The pressure coefficients (wind) and shape values (snow) are calculated in accordance with DIN 1055-100, DIN 1055-4 and DIN 1055-5. Calculate the values of local snow loads in accordance with countryspecific data. Calculate the values of local snow loads in accordance with countryspecific data. The loads present on site (in kn/m²) must be calculated in accordance with the applicable national standards. Do not interpolate intermediate values. Instead, select the next highest value. Refer to the Schüco MSE design aids for the description of definitions and the procedure for calculating loads and dimensions, as well as the calculation of span widths for the different snow and wind loads. The ballasting values for flat-roof mounting systems to overcome the wind load can be found on page 33. One Turn, One Turn 18/22 and hammer-head bolt Lock the OneTurn/hammer-head bolt in place by turning it 90 clockwise. The screw head of the OneTurn/hammer-head bolt must be anchored diagonally in the mounting rail groove. After aligning the mounting rails or flat-roof brackets, tighten the threaded sleeves or nuts. 90 90 Materials to be provided by others Screws for mounting battens and fixing points. Flat roof installation: wind load/ballasting Flat roof installation/wind load/ballasting Important Important Risk of death or injury, could endanger the environment and the product. The roof/building may collapse. The maximum roof load-bearing capacity must not be exceeded. Risk of death or injury, could endanger the environment and the product. Do not step on installed mounting rails. Do not use them as ladders or fixing points for the safety harness. The mounting rails, flatroof brackets and roof construction will be damaged and lose their structural load-bearing capacity. 1000 250 80 ~48 kg Calculate the values of local snow loads in accordance with countryspecific data. Ballasting for the flat-roof mounting system is applied in accordance with the table below: Wind load (q) in [kn/m²] Required ballasting [kg per m² collector surface [kg/m²] No. of edging stones [Quantity per m² collector surface[kg/m²] 0,50 148 4 0,65 186 4 0,75 228 5 0,80 243 5 0,85 259 6 0,90 275 6 0,95 291 6 Flat-roof mounting system: collector installation 18 The collectors are installed in the same way as for on-roof installation with horizontal mounting rails. Commissioning Commissioning/instructing the operator/maintenance/ decommissioning/environmental requirements Commission the system in accordance with the installation/operating instructions for the Schüco solar station. Instructing the system operator/maintenance of the system/device Train the system operator in: The correct operation and the functions of the system/device The correct and most efficient temperature setting(s) The necessity for regular maintenance The maintenance instructions described To avoid damage to the surface of the storage cylinder, clean the external casing with a damp cloth only; never use cleaners containing sand or abrasive materials, or solvent cleaning agent or paint thinner (nitro etc.). The maintenance instructions described Maintenance Maintain the system in accordance with the installation/operating instructions for the Schüco solar station. Check the mounting system for loose screws and nuts in an annual visual inspection. Re-tighten the loose screws and nuts to suit the material. Draining/decommissioning Drain the system in accordance with the installation/operating instructions for the Schüco solar station. Decommission the system in accordance with the installation/operating instructions for the Schüco solar station. The Schüco CTE 319 CH and CTE 319 CH AR collectors are maintenance-free. Environmental requirements When servicing or decommissioning solar stations, observe the environmental requirements with regard to recycling, re-use and disposal of operating materials and components in accordance with the local, country-specific and international current technical regulations and official regulations. For the materials to be recycled/re-used correctly, use the list of materials for the individual system components in the next section.
