(May 2012- April 2013) Elective Fellow Nutritional Biochemistry Laboratory, Systems Vaccinology, Center for Vaccine Science, icddr,b. (August 2010-February 2012) Research Experience: I worked in the Nutritional Biochemistry Laboratory at icddr,b for last 2 and half years. I started out as a post-graduate elective fellow for the partial fulfillment of MS degree and later joined the same laboratory as Research Officer. I had the opportunity to introduce myself to different contemporary Immunological, Biochemical & Molecular techniques. I performed cell culture, staining, extraction of DNA and RNA, preparation of cdna, RT-PCR, Killing assay for Mtb, ALS assay for Tb diagnosis and ELISA. I have the experience to deal with patients in field level and guide thesis students. In addition I have sound knowledge on data analysis using SPSS (version 17). As a Research Officer in Nutritional Biochemistry Laboratory I was involved with the following research projects: Effect of Vitamin D and Phenylbutyrate in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis for Improved Clinical Outcome and Endogenous Expression of Antimicrobial Peptide. The Effect of Antenatal Vitamin D Supplementation on Maternal, Fetal Vitamin D status and Neonatal Immune Function. Implications of Early Life Exposure: Mother Infant Nutritional Intervention in Matlab(MINIMat) Follow-up study 9/10 years. Research Interest: I have strong interest in Immunology and Molecular Nutrition in the context of infectious diseases and cancer biology. Cell biology and Epigenetics also fascinate me.
