The purpose of this written exam is to qualify the cabling professional with the concept of Firestopping by the Numbers. Let's see if you understand the concepts and can apply its theory in a few scenarios. Certifications will be awarded for 100% scores only. Directions: We recommend that you print out this test before taking the online test. Complete the printed test using the website as you would an open book test. The answers can be found on each of the Unique Firestop Product Systems' description pages. Record your answers here. Then go back to the Certification Training page on our website and submit your answers online. Your test will be graded and you will be contacted. Please retain this written test in case we need further review. You may be asked to resubmit answers for any missed questions. Certifications are issued to the INDIVIDUAL, not the employer. To be listed: You must be employed by a company in the cable installation business, firestop contractor, engineer, architect, or wire/cable distributor/specifier. Either the individual or his employer's company name may be listed on the Map of Installers. He is running (100) Cat 5E cables measuring.25"each, through a cinder block wall. The wall is not reinforced with concrete or steel rebar. He has on many occasions just popped a hole with a screw driver in the drywall and dropped his cables in and fished them out. NOW, the State Fire Marshal will require the membrane penetration be done with a "tested " System. The Fire Marshall wants the existing membrane penetration violations retrofitted.
