Our company Benarx Solutions designs, produces and deliver high-tech insulation products for the global Oil&Gas industry. The Benarx product series is a range of industrialized insulation solutions that meets criteria for passive fire protection, thermal and acoustic insulation both standalone and combinations. The product range offers unique properties with regard to fire technology, thermodynamics, acoustics and CUI optimization. The Benarx Solutions prefabricated insulation products offer the lowest life cycle cost (LCC) and save valuable space and time during installation. They provide unique design properties to simplify logistics and improve HSE performance. The Benarx product series insulation products have a life span that far exceeds the traditional solutions. 4
The extensive and continuous research and product development is done in close co-operation with key clients and suppliers as well as institutions such as SINTEF, DNV, the National Institute of Technology, research institutions, GexCon and Lloyds (type approval). The solutions have been thoroughly tested and approved to a vast range of relevant specifications/standards. Benarx product series has been established as best practice on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is one of the biggest challenges for the international oil and gas industry. Strict criteria for effective and lasting maintenance solutions will help significantly reduce these challenges. Ninety-five of all installations (60%) on the NCS will be more than 20 years old by 2020. Current, conventional maintenance systems and technologies are not optimal for the tests facing the industry. CUI therefore represents one of the biggest challenges in terms of safety, cost and stable production. Benarx Solutions R&D department focuses especially on developing solutions that effectively monitor CUI and reduce the risk of CUI-related incidents. Catalogue icons Fire Insulation Passive Fire Protection is today an essential part of all Oil&Gas installations. The constant presence of highly flammable fluids and explosive gasses, in confided spaces and locations where people have limited escape routes, poses a significant risk in the Industry. Every measure is taken to reduce the risk to a minimum, but unfortunately as have been seen in some disastrous examples, accidents do occur. This is where Passive Fire Protection (PFP) plays an important role. If an oil or gas spill accident has occurred and ignited, it s essential that the integrity of load bearing structures and pipes carrying hydrocarbons or fire fighting fluids, are protected as long as possible. Thermal Insulation The Petrochemical industry must handle a wide range of temperatures, from super-heated steam to cryogenic Liquid Natural Gas. Thermal insulation plays an important role in preserving the temperature of the media, reducing the energy loss or avoiding condensation and external ice formation on cold media. 6
Acoustic Insulation Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is an important factor in todays work environment. The Oil&Gas industry has some challenging factors to consider. The installations offshore are in a confined and limited space, the processes are often very noisy due to high pressure in pipes and heavy machinery being operated. The working regulation in noisy environment limits how long personnel can work in the area, depending on the noise level. This could result in inefficient work processes as the amount of available personnel offshore is limited due to high cost, limited bed and heli-transport capacity. Reducing the noise levels with insulation are therefore often a necessity and increases cost efficiency as workers can stay longer in areas where noise level is reduced. CUI Detection Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is a major risk factor in Oil&Gas producing facilities. The integrity of pipelines and process equipment carrying hydrocarbons under pressure is essential and a potential leak or breakage can have catastrophic results. 7

Pipe insulation is an essential part of piping in Oil&Gas production and processing facilities. Benarx Solutions deliver a large range of both in- house developed and patented Benarx pipe insulation products and traditional pipe insulation products that covers standalone insulation classes or combination classes within fire, thermal and acoustic demands. Our products are prefabricated under ideal conditions at the Benarx factory to reduce installation time significantly and avoid any chemical disposable solvents on site during installation of the product. 9
Benarx Cellular Glass XP Benarx Cellular Glass XP is a patented product developed especially for fire protection of piping in the Oil&Gas and processing facility. In addition to the fire protection, it also has thermal properties which makes it suitable for a wide range of insulation classes. The lightweight and prefabricated construction makes it very installation friendly and reduces installation time significantly compared to traditional insulation solutions. The insulation system is designed as a fully weather protective solution for the underlying pipe. If any water should penetrate the weather proofing barrier due to a defect, it is also designed to drain water away to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI). The product is designed to withstand the toughest environments through extensive testing, and have certifications for various fire ratings to secure that the product meets the customer demands. Benarx Pipe Shell Benarx Pipe Shell is a fire protection product ideally suited for passive fire protection of pipes and are designed to withstand the toughest hydrocarbon and jet fire scenarios. The design of the product is specially developed to be a thin solution to be more versatile during installation and to avoid objects around the pipe. The product can be lined with thin insulation for additional thermal and acoustic insulation properties to be used for all insulation classes. The prefabricated design with superior mechanical properties, saves valuable installation time. The product allows for fast installation and easy disassembly where inspection and maintenance are required. Benarx Steel Cladding Benarx Steel cladding is used to protect the under lying insulation, mechanical integrity of the piping and act as a weather protection. The product can be delivered standalone, or in combination with insulation materials to meet all insulation demands for thermal, acoustic, fire and personnel protection. Benarx offers various steel and aluminium qualities to meet customers demand. Our modern steel fabrication and the use of automated machines in production, makes the product high quality and cost efficient. Benarx Rivetless Cladding Benarx Rivetless Cladding is a stainless-steel cladding system specially developed to be used with slim insulation materials. Installation is performed without drilling holes for pop rivets or screws, reducing the risk of damaging the insulation system and the underlying piping. Slim insulation systems reduce space requirements on pipe racks, enabling a more compact design with lower weight and reduced possibility for clashes. Our modern steel fabrication and the use of automated machines in production, makes the product high quality and cost efficient. Benarx Flexiroll XP Benarx Flexioll XP is a passive fire protection product developed for various applications. The thin prefabricated solution is developed to be timesaving during installation and to be used in confined areas. It is designed to easily be cut-out and are delivered in stacked rolls with standard size of 0,6 x 3 m. It is fastened with high quality stainless steel bands and can be installed in any weather conditions. The product is a reinforced fibre mat covered in intumescent epoxy material. On the outside, it can be covered with a flexible topcoat to withstand weather exposure. Benarx Flexiroll XP withstands the toughest jet fire scenarios demanded. Benarx Preformed End Cap Gasket The end termination of pipe insulation is a critical point of water proofing the pipe insulation material. Preparing end termination of traditional metal cladding may be challenging to achieve with water ingress as a result. Water under the insulation and potential damages to pipe coating due to sharp metal edges is a major risk factor resulting in development of CUI. Benarx Preformed End Cap Gasket reduces installation time significantly compared to traditional steel end cap solutions. The product is preformed to the pipe dimensions and insulation thickness and is therefore easy to install and does not require modifications to fit. The risk of damaging the coating system and the heat trace cables during installation is mitigated by using Benarx Preformed End Cap Gasket. Equipment protection is essential to achieve a complete system protection in Oil&Gas production and processing facility. Benarx Solutions equipment protection ranges over flange, valve, actuator, crane pedestal and pipe support to cable tray, vessel, tank and steel frame structures. The products are compatible with our range of pipe insulation products and can be delivered as a total system or as a standalone product. The products are developed in-house and cover standalone insulation classes or combination classes within fire, thermal and acoustic demands. 17
Benarx Epoxy Box Benarx Epoxy Box is a robust high-performance product designed to maintain fire integrity of the piping system. It is thoroughly tested and have a proven track record in the toughest conditions from the harsh arctic to the warm tropic climate. Benarx Epoxy Box can be custom made to fit geometries such as valves, actuators, flanges, pipe supports and crane pedestals. The prefabricated design consists of modules assembled with eccentric locks. This combination allows for a fast and easy installation, and disassembly where inspection and maintenance are required. Benarx Epoxy Box withstands heavy mechanical impact and maintains its mechanical integrity of the system through its lifecycle. Benarx Steel Box Benarx Steel Box is a lightweight insulation product for the equipment parts on the piping system. The versatile solution can be designed to accommodate various insulation materials for personnel protection to avoid high temperature contact, thermal insulation integrity for both hot -and cold classes with or without electrical connections, various fire demands or to reduce acoustic noise to the surrounding areas. The box is made from high quality stainless steel, connected with eccentric locks. It is lined with preformed mechanically secured insulation materials and can be custom designed to accommodate any geometry for piping, valves and flanges. It is thoroughly tested over many years and have a proven track record from all over the world. Benarx Structure Panel Benarx Structure Panel is a high performance prefabricated dry-fix passive fire protection solution specially developed to be used on structures and process equipment in the Oil&Gas industry. The versatile nature of the product, makes it usable for virtually any steel frame structures, vessels, tanks and pipe racks. Benarx Structure Panel can be used to provide passive fire protection on structures missing the required fire integrity, or to upgrade/maintain failing of existing FPF systems. The prefabricated panels also significantly reduces the HSE impact on site. No wet spraying of PFP material, no special required environmental protection such as tents or habitats are required. The panels can be installed in wet, cold, dry or warm weather conditions, again resulting in reduced installation time on site. Benarx Epoxy Cable Tray Maintaining the integrity of power, telemetry and communication cabling in an Oil&Gas facility is essential in a potential fire. Benarx Epoxy Cable Tray is a durable passive fire protection designed specifically for cable trays. It is prefabricated and consists of two L-shaped panels covering the cable tray and are fastened with stainless steel straps. The solution is made to be easily opened for access to the cables and then reassembled. In a potential fire, the product forms an insulating char when exposed to heat. This mechanism in combination with the Benarx design, protects the cabling from high temperatures, explosion and fires. The fire barrier for the underlying cables secures that crucial signals maintain intact. 22 Benarx Accessories
Benarx accessories are products developed to be used on both piping and equipment products. The properties of the accessories enhance the CUI properties of Benarx products. CUI enhancement is achieved through water drainage or through detection of water for corrective measures to be implemented on an early stage. The two products can be delivered as a standalone product or in a combination where drainage and detection is achieved at once. Sound reduction plays an important part in creating a safe and efficient sound reduced area for workers. The product can be used to isolate certain areas on a temporary or permanent basis and are easy scalable through its module based design. The ultra-high strength of the aramid fibers ensures maximum durability and lifetime. 23
Benarx WUI Plug Companies worldwide invest significant amounts of resources to inspect and maintain insulated pipelines to prevent risks associated with corrosion under insulation (CUI). Benarx WUI Drain Plug is a reliable tool for draining and detecting the presence of water under the insulation, enabling inspection to focus on areas where water has penetrated the weather barrier system. Corrective measures can then be implemented at an early stage to enable cost-effective CUI maintenance. Benarx Fire Drain Plug Benarx Fire Drain Plug is an effective solution for draining potential water from insulation while maintaining the passive fire protection integrity of the system. Benarx Fire Drain Plug is a threaded stainless steel drain pipe containing a fire expanding seal bush inside. The drain plug can be mounted on various types of insulations systems, by the use of a stainless steel plate with steel bands or by fastening it with a threaded washer and nut through the drain side of the pipe or equipment insulation product. 24
