GS-FLANGE 17 GS-FLANGE BITE TYPE FLARE ADAPTORS OTHER TECHNICAL MACHINES VALVES CLAMPS TUBES & PIPES The GS-Piping System consists of two flange systems - the flare flange and retain ring systems - which allow piping systems with working pressures from 10 to 690 bar and pipe diameters between 16 and 600 mm to be assembled without welding. The Retain Ring and 37 o Flare Flange systems are used for high pressure connections and the 90 o Flare Flange connection for low pressure applications. The GS Retain Ring, 37 o and 90 o Flare Flange systems are approved by numerous classification companies around the world including det Norske Veritas, Lloyd s register of shipping, Bureau Veritas, Registro Italiano Navale, Maritimo Register of Shipping, Germanischer Lloyds, American Bureau of Shipping, Nippon Kajii Kyokai, Technische Uberwachungs Verein etc. The retain ring and flare flange systems are also approved to be used off-shore by NOR- SOK (piping spec. s IS70, IS80, GS70 and JS80).

GS-FLANGE 18 GS-FLANGE TUBES & PIPES CLAMPS VALVES BITE TYPE FLARE Retain Ring System The GS Retain Ring system is used for piping with a maximum allowable working pressure up to 350-400 bar. In special applications, the retain ring system can be used with working pressures as high as 690 bar. Extensive testing programs have shown the suitability of the retain ring jointing method for high pressure piping systems in a wide range of different materials ranging from mild and stainless steel to duplex and titanium and all other quality pipe materials with an elongation above 20%.
