First Aid Measures Eye contact Skin contact Hazardous skin contact Slight inhalation Hazardous inhalation Slight ingestion Hazardous ingestion Check for and remove any contact lenses. IMMEDIATELY flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. Get medical attention immediately. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical attention. Wash with a disinfectant soap and cover the contaminated skin with an anti-bacterial cream. Seek immediate medical attention. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention immediately. Evacuate the victim to a safe area as soon as possible. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If the victim is not breathing, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. WARNING: It may be hazardous to the person providing aid to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation when the inhaled material is toxic, infectious or corrosive. Seek immediate medical attention. Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. If ingested, rinse the mouth and throat liberally with water.have conscious person drink several glasses of water. Contact physician immediately. Section 2. The products of degradation are less toxic than the product itself. Corrosivity Hazardous polymerization Reactive with acids. Will not occur. Section 6. Toxicological Properties Routes of entry TLV Toxicity to animals Chronic effects on humans Dermal contact. Eye contact. Inhalation. Ingestion. LD50: LC50: Very hazardous in case of eye contact (irritant). CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Repeated exposure of the eyes to a low level of dust can produce eye irritation. Repeated skin exposure can produce local skin destruction, or dermatitis. Repeated inhalation of dust can produce varying degree of respiratory irritation or lung damage. Repeated exposure to a highly toxic material may produce general deterioration of health by an accumulation in one or many human organs. Acute effects on humans Eyes May cause irritation, tears, blurred vision and redness to the eyes. Can cause possible injury to eyes and impairment of vision. Skin Contact with liquid or mists can cause severe burns. Initial contact will be painless but blisters occur later. Gradual itching senstation will start as tissue desctruction occurs. Prompt rinsing with water will greatly reduce the chance of permanent injury. Inhalation Irritation of mucous membrane of nose/mouth/throat may occur. May cause burns to entire respiratory system. Acute pulmonary edema may develop. Ingestion May burn mouth/throat and stomach. Damage to digestive tract including corrosive effects.

METEX ALKALINE DESCALER 2832 Page Number: 4 Section 7. Preventive Measures Precautions Keep container dry. DO NOT ingest. Do not breathe dust. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or the label. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep away from incompatibles such as oxidizing agents, reducing agents, organic materials, metals, acids, moisture. Good general ventilation is normally required when handling or using this product. If user operations generate dust, fume or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to airborne contaminants below the exposure limit. Splash goggles and/or face shield. Chemical resistant gloves and apron. Boots. Ensure eyewash station and safety shower is proximal to the work station location. Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate. Storage Small spill and leak Large spill and leak in case of large large spill Waste disposal Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not store below 2.7778 C (37 F). Maximum: 37.77 C (100 F). Use appropriate tools to put the spilled solid in a convenient waste disposal container. DO NOT use metal tools or equipment. Sweep up and place in suitable clean, dry containers for reclamation or later disposal. Avoid dusting. Flush residue with plenty of water to chemical waste treatment drain. Stop leak if without risk. Do not get water inside container. Do not touch spilled material. Use water spray to reduce vapors. Prevent entry into sewers, basements or confined areas; dike if needed. Call for assistance on disposal. Splash goggles. Full suit. Vapor and dust respirator. Boots. Gloves. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product. Suggested protective clothing might not be sufficient; consult a specialist BEFORE handling this product. Dispose as hazardous waste following applicable regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities. Section 8. Classification TDG road / rail TDG Class 8: Corrosive solid.
