Trafficking Application Classes Charcon Specialist Products offers a range of lids to suit all your trafficking application needs. Each lid has the necessary lifting inserts to facilitate lifting when accessing the ducts at a future date. Trafficking Application Classes are as follows: Light Duty For use in private driveways and grassed areas e.g. parkland maintained with mowing equipment. Maximum wheel loading of two tonnes. Medium Duty For use in car parks and access roads subject to occasional commercial vehicle traffic e.g access to works and plants. Maximum wheel loading of five tonnes. Heavy Duty Steel lidded units offer a maximum wheel load of 11. which can be used for lorry parks and kerbsides (non - public highways) e.g. all road-going vehicles up to 15 mph max. It is strongly advised that you select a higher grade of unit if channelised trafficking or an excessive amount of commercial traffic is anticipated. Loading test data and trafficking application classes are based on linear drainage standard DIN 19580 which forms the basis of a draft European Standard. Units have been subjected to test loads from 15kN (pedestrian) up to 400kN (heavy duty). This test data, together with our unrivalled experience of Access Ducting in trafficked situations, has enabled us to help our clients to select the best product for their application. All lifting devices for the troughs and lids are available from the Charcon Sales Office.
