Company Profile Flexible and Customized Solution a key to success The keyword for LVT s is adaptability, responsiveness and innovation combined with an ongoing dialogue with our customers. Focus is on flexibility and customized solutions based on the needs of the individual customer. LVT offers a wide range of engineering services including designing, developing, supplying and installing of equipment for customers in order to improve production efficiency as well as to reduce the power consumption for clients in cement industry, energy industry, mining industry and other related industries using the same technology. An adventure of continuous development of cement technology Cement equipment developed by LVT include classifiers which can be applied for improving efficiency of Vertical Roller Mills and Ball Mill. Moreover, the Company through continuous efforts to invent and deliver better products is successful in improving the efficiency of Rotary Kiln. In 1998 a new classifier technology for control of the flow of gas and material in vertical mills was introduced to the cement industry by LVT. The innovative yet simple technology increased production, improved size distribution of product and savings in power consumption of both mill and fan. Later the technology has been further developed for ball mills including a fluidized bed. Since 1999, LVT has been vastly supplying hundreds of LV Classifiers for modification of the existing and the new Vertical Mills. In fact the LV Classifier makes it possible to increase the production by 10 20% and reduce the power consumption of the mill department. In 2000 a new cyclone design, applicable for both mills and preheaters, was released. The LV Cyclone is a high efficiency device, which minimize the pressure drop c onsiderably and thereby reduce the fan power consumption. Since then improvements have been developed hand in hand with the increasing sale. Today LVT is offering complete mill departments and large kiln upgrades including calciner modifications as well as complete plant designs. LVT is proud to have been awarded in cooperation with our agent in Spain the award for outstanding innovation of Cement Production Process by CEMEX Group. 6

Environment friendly production LVT is constantly pursuing a technology that lowers the energy consumption and at the same time increases the efficiency of the cement production. Next to energy, cement production is the world's second largest source of carbon emissions. The world makes about 15 billion tons of cement and concrete each year and 32 billion tons of aggregate (mixtures of cement, concrete, sand and gravel). Human consumption of cement is only surpassed by water. However, cement production is responsible for 5 percent of the world s human-produced carbon dioxide emissions. It is estimated that the production of each ton of concrete releases one ton of carbon dioxide. The preparation of cement involves mining; crushing, and grinding of raw materials (principally limestone and clay); calcining the materials in a rotary kiln; cooling the resulting clinker; mixing the clinker with gypsum; and milling, storing, and bagging the finished cement. The process generates a variety of wastes, including dust, which is captured and recycled to the process. The process is very energy-intensive, and there are strong incentives for energy conservation. Gases from clinker cooler are used as secondary combustion air. The dry process, using preheaters and precalciners, is both economically and environmentally preferable to the wet process because the energy consumption 47 calories per kilogram (Cal/kg) - is approximately half of that for the wet process. Mechanical systems such as cyclones trap the larger particulates in kiln gases and act as preconditioners for downstream collection devices. Fabric filter systems such as baghouses are the principal options for collection and control (achieving over 99% removal efficiency) of fine particulates. Baghouses can achieve high levels of particulate removal from the kiln gas stream, but good operation and maintenance are essential for achieving design specifications. 7

LVT Products and Services The LV Classifier has been accepted world-wide as the state-of the-art classifier, which together with the LV Cyclone has been the backbone product for LVT. In recent years the product portfolio has increased considerably by a great leap forward. LVT has successfully implemented contracts for new mill department (Vertical and Ball Mills), upgrading of complete production lines as well as commissioned several new production lines. Vertical Mill Modification applying LV Classifier Since 1999, LVT has been vastly supplying hundreds of LV Classifiers for modification of the existing and the new Vertical Mills. Due to the LV Classifier unique concept and design, LV Classifiers are widely used and in operation. This concept and design make possible the increase in production capacity by 10 20% and reduction in power consumption of mill department about 0.5 5 kwh/t. The LV Classifier has three major features: LV Pocket for separator stator. Coarse material introduced into classifier can be separated at LV Pocket. This coarse material is to be fed onto mill table without mixing fine material from mill table. Less vibration by applying LV Classifier. Reject, that is coarse material, is fed onto mill table without mixing fine from mill and this could cause more preferable bed condition having less fine material. This condition leads to less vibration in mill operation. As the result increasing in roller tension and production rate is possible. Preferable gas velocity configuration and lower pressure loss in total mill system. Funnel cone of special design makes preferable gas velocity configuration in mill. As the result gas velocity increasing step by step to inlet of Classifier and no possibility to have internal material circulation in mill body. Pressure drop through mill becomes remarkably reduced getting no material circulation in mill and consequently mill fan power is reduced remarkably. This concept and ideas are also applied for ball mill modification. 8

Ball Mill Modification applying LV Classifier All of conventional separators for ball mills apply top feed for separator of material from ball mills. This type of separators cannot distribute material from mill uniformly to separator. If it is possible to distribute material to all area of separator, then separator efficiency increases remarkably. LV Classifiers for ball mills solve this problem by applying bottom feed of material from ball mill to separator. This makes possible to distribute material uniformly to all area of separator, like vertical mill separator. Fluidizing bed is installed at bottom of separator in order to separate grid from material input and to make perfect transportation of materials to separator area. We call this separator LV Classifier with Fluidizing Bed. This is very unique design with a high performance. Since the feeding point of material to the LV Classifier is at a lower position at the separator, it is not required to extend the bucket elevator height as with conventional modifications. LVT extensively supplied this type of LV Classifiers (more than 140 sets), including for raw material, cement, slag and coal mills. LV Classifier for coal mill does not need to be equipped with fluidizing bed. Advantages Higher production (usually 10% increasing by installing LV Classifier) Lower power consumption for total mill department. Lower pressure loss for Classifier waste gas/air by applying lower pressure loss type LV Cyclone. Preferable size distribution of product. No extension for bucket elevator for modification work. 9

LV CYCLONES The LV Cyclones can be applied to raw mills, cement mills and preheaters The LV Cyclone is different from the commonly cyclone design such as: The inlet has been pulled as far away from the outlet tube as possible. The conventional cylindrical portion of the cyclone has been substituted by a reverse conical portion. The top roof spirals downwards. The downwards roof spiral avoids re-introducing circulating gas into the new gas entering the cyclone. This unique body design ensures an effective separation of gas and material achieving high cyclone efficiency combined with a low pressure loss Advantages Higher collection efficiency Lower pressure drop Easy to modify Lower investment More economical Less shut-down time 10

LV Calciner Technology The fundamental issued for obtaining proper combustion in the calciner is the fuel fineness, its retention time and an optimum mixing of fuel and combustion air. For upgrading projects the calciner volume can often be increased to improve the retention time. For new calciner the retention time can be selected properly. LVT has developed a calciner mixing chamber, which can be installed on conventional In Line Calciner to get a better mixing of the kiln exhaust gas and the tertiary air resulting in an improved degree of burn-out of the fuel for the same retention time and calciner volume. This is important especially on kiln upgrade projects, where the calciner volume cannot be increased. Advantages Perfect combustion Easy installation NOx reduction The key words in kiln upgrades are low pressure drop, minimal modifications and proper combustion conditions in the calciner. LVT reuses the existing ID fan whenever possible, where the reduced pressure drop over the preheater opens up for increased flow followed by a higher clinker production. 11

Kiln Upgrades The new cyclone design introduced by LVT in 2000 has been successfully installed at many plants. The low pressure loss reduces fan power consumption. When LV Cyclones are installed in preheater the reduction in pressure drop can be used to increase the kiln production. Advantages Tailor made solutions Higher collection efficiency Lower pressure drop Increased kiln output Latest Generation of the LV Preheater Based upon LVT s unique cyclone design an extraordinary lay-out of the preheater tower has been innovated. A cyclone tower can now be constructed with twin LV Cyclones on each deck without loosing the advantages of low pressure drop and power consumption decrease. Two LV Cyclones on each level have tremendous advantages. Additional Advantages Reduced height of the preheater tower Lower civil engineering cost Less construction materials Shorter erection time Complete Plant Designs Today LVT offers complete mill departments and large kiln system upgrade including calciner modifications as well as complete plant design. Spare Parts LVT not only provides machinery and equipment but we are also reliable suppliers of spare parts and accessories. 12

Professional Services Erection and Supervision LVT provides supervisory services for erection of new cement plants and for existing cement plants to be upgraded or modernized. Commissioning A successful commissioning is of ultimate importance. Experienced LVT engineers perform this service throughout the world and they take great pain in passing on their experience to the plant personnel. Advantages Tailor made solutions Experienced staff Fast response 13
