Integration with information systems such as RIS and HIS. GISI (General Information Systems Interface) connects a Voice System 4000 with any third party host system for information interchange. It allows real-time updates of job-relevant events between the two systems. For example, an RIS system will provide the status of each dictation.this allows the referring doctor to get a quick status on a patient report. If a job has been dictated but not yet transcribed, any authorized doctor will be able to review the dictation directly on the Voice System 4000 through any touch-tone telephone. Job-relevant details will be provided via the RIS system. If a job is transcribed via the Voice System 4000 the transcriptionist s screen will be automatically updated by the RIS with patient demographics including the name of the doctor. Connecting a Voice System 4000 to an RIS system provides additional efficiency, service and capability to the hospital s organization. On request, Philips Dictation Systems can provide you with a list of vendors of RIS/HIS to which Voice System 4000 has been successfully integrated. 1. RECEPTION A patient s registration at the hospital reception is entered into the RIS server. The complete, typed report is then available on the RIS. 6. VS 4000 With Job Transfer, Systems located anywhere worldwide can be linked via the telephone network to a central System. TELEPHONE NETWORK VS 4000 VS 4000 Job Transfer gives you the benefits of location economies and load balancing through linked systems. With Job Transfer, complete dictation can be transmitted with job header information via the telephone network, from one Voice System 4000 to another. Each Voice System 4000 can assign one port for transmission and a central System can receive jobs simultaneously from up to 32 remote Systems. This is very useful for transcription services or when an organization s secretarial resource is economically located but remote from the authors. Job Transfer can be done, for example, during night hours when telephone rates are less expensive. It also allows load balancing between multiple secretarial resources during holidays, illnesses or excessive workloads. A central System can receive jobs from up to 32 remote Systems at one time.
