Please join us for our Spring seminar Wednesday, April 11, 2012 as Carol Ptak and Chad Smith present Materials Planning in a Demand Driven World Seminar Topic: Materials Planning in a Demand Driven World Carol Ptak, CFPIM, CIRM (see bio, pg. 3) and Chad Smith (see bio, pg. 4) Carol Ptak and Chad Smith, co-authors of Orlicky s Material Requirements Planning, Third Revised Addition, (McGraw-Hill, 2011) will offer an in-depth exploration of the logic behind the innovative and groundbreaking multi -echelon inventory and materials planning and execution method known as Demand Driven MRP. The workshop will describe and clarify the poor business results embedded in most of today s demand and supply planning systems; discusses the core problems causing the results; presents and details an alternative demand driven structure for planning and controlling materials flow; and presents initial results from actual implementations. This new solution helps companies tackle three pervasive 21st Century problems: unacceptable inventory performance; unacceptable service level performance; and high related expenses and waste. 3 President s Message We had a wonderful joint meeting with the folks from ASQ. And while it may appear at first glance Homeland Security may appear dull and inappropriate for our group it was anything but. I think it opened up a lot of eyes as to just how ill-prepared our companies are for extreme emergencies. They will do assessments for free and they are non-regulatory so there is no risk involved. I encourage you to check out their website. Of course the big news here is Carol Ptak coming for our annual seminar and PDM. We are indeed very fortunate to have someone of this caliber speak in Wichita. She is very dynamic and always well received wherever she presents. You really should attend the seminar if you can. We have started preparing for next year and are on track to have four plant tours. More on that as the information becomes available. The latest information I have received on CPIMs is that the total is now over 100,000 world-wide. Classes will be posted on the website as they become available or you can contact me directly if you would like to discuss. Brian Ferris CFPIM, CSCP, C.P.M.
