For commercial, industrial, historic structure or multi-unit residential variance or permit (except records covered by part "c"): b. For single-unit residential variance or permit: RETENTION: 25 years after date of last entry NOTE: Certain single-unit residential variance and permit files may be significant because they set legal precedents and should be retained permanently. Those involving the definition of what constitutes a "family" may be particularly important. c.
