and MIG WIRE PRODUCT CATALOG Premium MIG (GMAW) Wire Electrodes

About The Lincoln Electric Company Lincoln Electric is the world s leading manufacturer of welding equipment and consumables. Our focus is on helping companies make their welding operations more effective, more efficient, more profitable. We are dedicated to two equally important goals: exceptional quality and exceptional service. Our field support team with hundreds of field sales engineers and thousands of knowledgeable and responsive Lincoln distributors in countries all over the world is the largest in the industry. Innovative thinking. A quality, service-first attitude. Fresh approaches to design, manufacturing, and packaging. Worldwide strength. That s Lincoln Electric. Super Arc and Super Glide MIG Wire Nowhere is Lincoln Electric s commitment to welding and fabrication more apparent than in its fifty-plus year heritage of making the world s best MIG wires. Today, Lincoln s Super Arc, our premium copper-coated MIG wire, and Super Glide, our premium bare MIG wire, are the choice of welders and welding decision-makers everywhere because of their exceptional consistency, feedability, and arc performance. Excellent Arc Performance and Feedability Ultra Smooth Feeding Ultra Smooth Arc Performance A better arc means less spatter, less clean-up, and improved productivity and premium Super Arc and Super Glide deliver the best arc in MIG welding. Our MicroGuard Ultra surface treatment, with proprietary arc enhancement agents, facilitates excellent weld puddle control, very good wetting action, straight bead edges and a wider operating range. 2

The Right Wire. The Right Packaging. Super Arc and Super Glide are available in a wide spectrum of diameters and alloys, so there s almost always a premium Lincoln MIG wire for the project at hand. And we offer both groups of these quality wires in a generous range of value and convenience-driven packaging options from two-pound spools to 1000 pound drums and many sizes in between, including our patented 100% recyclable Accu-Pak Boxes. Lincoln MIG Wire Competitive MIG Wire Plus, the exceptional feeding characteristics of Super- Arc and Super Glide, made possible by MicroGuard Ultra surface treatment, translate to reduced down-time and high operator appeal. Super Arc and Super Glide set the benchmark in the industry. Industry-Leading Consistency Diameter and chemistry consistency is critical to the strength and appearance of every weld. That s why so many of the world s top welders and fabricators insist on Lincoln MIG wire. Our quality starts with superior materials incoming raw steel slated for use in Super Arc and Super Glide is analyzed for chemical composition, checking more than 20 different elements before being cleared for production. And Lincoln employs the most technically advanced and carefully monitored manufacturing and quality control systems in the welding industry. The result is a line of MIG wires that are reliably uniform in diameter and chemical composition. In fact, Lincoln standards are considerably more restrictive than AWS A5.18 and A5.28 requirements. Operators and welding engineers appreciate the consistent arc action delivered by wire that offers just the right stiffness with no soft spots. Several alloy/package configurations feature our Accu-Trak precision winding technology, a patented twist-free winding solution that has been designed to deliver accurate wire placement without troublesome wire flipping. Accu-Trak wound wire is especially recommended for robotic and other automatic applications. Guaranteed Performance We re so confident that Super Arc and Super Glide will be best performing, most trouble-free wires you ve ever used that we back them with the best after-the-sale service in the industry the 100% satisfaction MIGuarantee. If you re not satisfied with the performance of your Super Arc or Super Glide wire for any reason we ll replace it no questions asked. Super Arc L-54 Mild Steel MIG Wire (AWS ER70S-4) Super Arc L-54 premium copper coated MIG wire is your first choice when welding on metals with a light to medium presence of millscale. For best performance, use on clean, oil-free, and rust-free base material. Improved wetting at the toes of a weld when compared to welds made with ER70S-3 electrode. Super Arc L-54 has higher silicon and manganese deoxidizer levels than AWS ER70S-3 electrodes to tolerate moderate levels of millscale. Shielding gases include argon/carbon dioxide blends, argon/oxygen blends, straight carbon dioxide, and three or four-part gas blends. Advantage Lincoln Welding Positions MicroGuard Ultra surface treatment for superior feeding and arc enhancement agents for excellent arc stability. Copper coating provides superior arc-starting characteristics, for long contact tip life and is manufactured not to flake, which can clog liners and contact tips. Will support all of the traditional modes of GMAW metal transfer: short-circuiting, globular, axial spray, and pulsed spray transfer. Well suited for applications where accurate and consistent wire feeding is necessary. Manufactured to standards for ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 9001 quality management systems. Typical Applications For welding on base material that is clean or has light to medium millscale. Excellent choice for single and multiple pass welds on 55,000 to 70,000 psi (379 to 483 MPa) yield strength base metal. Sheetmetal to multiple pass applications. Pipe welding, pressure vessels, steel buildings and structural steel. May be used in single arc or Tandem MIG applications. 1G 2F 2G 3G Shielding Gas 100% CO 2 75-95% Ar/Balance CO 2 95-98% Ar/Balance O 2 Flow Rate: 30-50 CFH Conformance AWS A5.18: ER70S-4 ASME SFA-5.18: ER70S-4 CWB W48-01: ER49S-4 3G 4G MECHANICAL PROPERTIES - As required per AWS A5.18 Test Tensile Strength Yield Strength Elongation Charpy V-Notch, ft lbf (J) Conditions psi (MPa) psi (MPa) (%) @ 0 F (-18 C) @-20 F (-29 C) @-40 F (-40 C) Requirements ER70S-4 per AWS A5.18 70,000 min. 58,000 min. 22 min.
