The prices of other commodities remained constant. At Bulawayo CBD Market, the price of tomatoes and butternuts increased while the price of medium potatoes, carrots and green pepper decreased. TOBACCO As at 11 April 2018, 130,437 growers had registered compared to 92,830 who had registered same time last year. Total flue cured tobacco seasonal sales as at 11 April 2018 stood at 20,881,824 kgs sold at an average price of US$2.74/kg at the three auction floors and contract sales compared to 22,687,540 kgs sold at an average price of US$2.65/kg same time last year. This realized total revenue amounting to US$57.3 million compared to US$60.2 million achieved same time last year. The price of wheat increased on the SAFEX, US GULF and CBOT markets from US$318.49/mt, US$190.05/mt and US$167.40/mt last week to US$324.44/mt, US$203.19/mt and US$179.01/mt this week respectively. The price of soya beans increased on the SAFEX, US GULF and CBOT markets from US$385.97/mt, US$388.65/mt and US$373.02/mt last week to US$388.74/mt, US$408.95/mt and US$384.92/mt this week respectively. The price of sorghum decreased on the SAFEX market from US$263.03/mt last week to US$261.05/mt this week.
