1.0 Introduction 1.1 Purpose: These guidelines advance standardization of procedures to shorten, simplify and reduce total time and cost in the supply chain. They promote ease of doing business between our companies. The following guidelines are to be adhered to by Fellowes customers serviced by shipments originating in and destined to locations in the United States. 1.2 Contact Information These Shipping Guidelines are to be followed. If you are unable to comply for any reason, please notify: customerrelations@fellowes.com 1.3 Non-standard procedures 1.3.1 If non-standard procedures need to be adopted, Fellowes must agree them to in writing. Additional costs may be passed along. 1.32 Anything inconsistent or not include as part of this document would need to be agreed to by Fellowes in writing. 1.4 Compliance Fines Fellowes will not be held liable for any compliance fines related to the procedures outlined in this document. 1.5 Direct Import Programs This shipping guide does not apply to Direct Import Programs. 2.0 Documents 2.1 Carton Labels (SCC/SCS) 2.1.1 Content Lists: SKU, description, barcode. 2.1.2 PO number on every carton Fellowes does not place the PO # on every carton of LTL and TL orders. The PO# is available on each pallet on the UCC128 Shipping Label. UPS shipments do have the PO# on each carton. 2.2 UCC128 Shipping Labels Lists: Ship From Address, Ship To Address, Ship to Zip Code, PO #, Fellowes Order #, Total Cartons on UCC128, Total Eaches on UCC128, SSCC Bar Code. 2.3 Packing List 2.3.1 Content Lists: Bill to, Ship to, Fellowes Order#, Order Date, PO#, Route, Freight Terms, Item, Description, Eaches Ordered per Item, Eaches Shipped per Item, Eaches Backordered per Item, Cartons Shipped per Item, Total Weight, Total Cube. 2.3.2 Faxing Packing List Fellowes does not support faxing of the Packing List 2.3.3 Extra Packing List attached to the Bill of Lading Fellowes does not support attaching an extra copy of the packing list to the Bill of Lading. A packing list is adhered to a box. 2.4 Bill of Lading 2.4.1 Content Lists: Carrier, Bill of Lading #, Consignee, Cartons Shipped by PO, Cube by PO, Weight by PO, Ship From Address, NMFC Class Code, # of Carton per NMFC Class Code, Weight per NMFC Class Code, Total Bill of Lading Cartons, Total Bill of Lading Weight, Total # of Pallets for the Shipment, Date Shipped, Pro Number, Driver Signature. 2.4.2 Faxing Bill of Lading Fellowes does not support faxing of the Bill of Lading 3.0 Transportation 3.1 Carrier Selection Fellowes designates the carrier when shipping Prepaid or Prepaid & Add freight terms. 3.2 Orders Below Prepaid Freight Minimum Fellowes ships orders below the Prepaid Minimum order size via a carrier of their choice terms Prepaid & Add, FOB Shipping Platform. 3.3 Multiple Orders on One Bill of Lading If shipped on the same day via LTL carrier, all orders will appear on one Bill of Lading 3.4 UPS Shipments 3.4.1 Banding Fellowes bands UPS cartons together as long as they are from the same purchase order. 3.4.2 UPS Labeling 3.4.2.a Shipping Label Every UPS carton has a shipping label which lists: Ship to Address, Ship from Address, PO#, Fellowes Order# Page 2 of 5
3.4.2.b 3.4.2.c UPS Track Tag Every UPS banded parcel has a UPS track tag which lists: Ship from Address, Ship to Address, Weight of parcel, Tracking #, PO#, Fellowes Order #, 1 of 1 (every parcel label prints 1 of 1, even a multiple parcel order) UPS Carton or Parcel 1 of XX on labels Fellowes does not support UPS carton or parcel 1 of XX printing on the labels 3.5 Miscellaneous Assessorial Charges Fellowes does not pay for any assessorial charges, including but not limited to: inside delivery charges, lift gate charges, detention charges, etc. 3.6 Carrier Driver Sort and Segregate Fellowes Carrier Drivers do not unload, sort and segregate. Driver assist is not available. 4.0 Palletization 4.1 Height Maximum mixed item pallet height, including the pallet, is 54 inches. 4.2 Type of Pallets Fellowes standard pallet is a GMA 48 X40 Notched (4 way entry) Three Stringer, Class #2, Repaired, Hardwood Pallet as described by the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association s Uniform Standard for Wood Pallets. 4.3 Pallet Exchange Fellowes is open to discuss pallet exchange programs. Contact customerrelations@fellowes.com for details. 4.4 Overhang No product will overhang the pallet. 4.5 Standard Pallet Requirements 4.5.1 Fellowes Do Not Break Stretch Wrap Tape 4.5.1.a LTL Shipments Every pallet will have green and white Fellowes Do Not Break Stretch Wrap tape. This way the customer will know if the carrier tampered with the shipment. 4.5.1.b TL Shipments No pallets will have the green and white Fellowes - Do Not Break Stretch Wrap tape. The trailer seal proves no tampering occurred with the shipment. Page 3 of 5
4.5.2 Packing List Placement 4.5.2.a LTL Shipments packing lists for all orders on a shipment are placed in one packing list envelope and attached to one pallet on a carton under the stretch wrap. Red and white Packing List Enclosed tape is adhered to the top of the skid. 4.5.2.b TL Shipments packing lists for all orders on a shipment are placed in one packing list envelope and attached to the pallet closest to the tail of the trailer on a carton under the stretch wrap. Red and white Packing List Enclosed tape is adhered to the top of the skid. 4.5.2.c UPS Orders the packing list is placed in an envelope and adhered to one of the parcels of that order. 4.5.3 UCC128 Shipping Label Placement One UCC128 label for each order on contained on the pallet is placed 24 from the bottom right on the stretch wrap of each pallet. 4.5.4 Stretch Wrap Capping 4.5.4.a LTL Shipments Loose Carton Pallets are stretch wrap capped Full Pallets - are not stretch wrap capped 4.5.4.b TL Shipments No pallets are stretch wrap capped 4.5.5 Cartons Securely Stretch Wrapped to the Pallet Stretch wrap will overlap onto the pallet to keep the load from moving on the pallet during transit. 4.5.6 Item on one pallet only If the item quantity is less than a full pallet, then the item will be placed only on one pallet. 5.0 Loading 5.1 LTL and TL 5.1.1 Product Gap A gap of 3 to 6 between the top of the product and the trailer is maintained. 5.1.2 Pallet Loading Fellowes loads pallets to minimize in transit damage and maximize trailer cube. 5.1.3 Side Loading of Pallets Fellowes side loads to eliminate shifting of pallets in transit and to maximize trailer cube utilization. 6.0 Definitions 6.1 Prepaid Freight Terms Fellowes pays for the freight expenses, and files all freight related claims. 6.2 Prepaid & Add Freight Terms Fellowes pays for the freight and adds the freight charge to the customer s invoice. Fellowes files all freight related claims. 6.3 Collect Freight Terms The customer pays for the freight expenses, and files all freight related claims. 6.4 LTL less than trailer load 6.5 TL trailer load 6.6 UPS Parcel a group of cartons banded together.
