Chapter ONE -- Overview The Shipment Monitoring Portal is an application intended to facilitate the identification and tracking of Transplace Shipments and some of the details associated with them. This application comes in two versions a Desktop Version and a Web version that is browser-based with more limited functionality. Chapter TWO covers the Desktop Version, which contains all features of the tool; Chapter THREE covers Shipment Monitoring Portal Web. Chapter FOUR covers modifying freight on Shipment Executions in the Web Version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal. Chapter FIVE presents a summary. The chapter titles are hyperlinks that will take you to the respective chapters quickly. Features Common to Both Versions 1. The Shipment Monitoring Portal provides the user with the opportunity to view several different levels of detail concerning individual and collective shipments. 2. Results can be filtered as desired, and the outcomes downloaded to Microsoft Excel as a fully functional spreadsheet.. [This means that dates are downloaded as dates, numbers as numbers, and text as text.] 3. The search process is facilitated by new self-completing fields; the system will suggest possible choices once the user types only the first few letters of the location or other selected parameters. 4. Search criteria can now include wild cards (*) and negation (!). The user can create searches such as all MEs beginning with 123 or all MEs that DO NOT begin with 123. [The system supports 123* and!123* searches, but it does NOT support *123 or!*123 searches.] 5. The user can generate a Master Manifest for selected shipments, and can render shipping placards for loads as needed if the account is set up for this functionality. Features of the Desktop Version Only 1. Double Clicking on Search Results in the Desktop can automatically display PO/Freight results when full loads were selected initially. Double clicking on the Freight Results will show Line Item information immediately. 2. Columns in search results can be moved and sorted as desired. Column arrangements can be saved and re-used as needed. 3. Search Results column arrangements and templates can be saved directly from the Results screen. 4. Immediate export of search results to Excel is now possible without first saving the results first. 5. When multiple entries are needed for a search, they can be copied directly into the appropriate fields from an Excel spreadsheet. (This is true for any entry field that allows multiple entries, such as Locations, Reference Numbers, SCACs, etc.) The application will automatically convert Excel column information to the correct input format for the search criteria screen. Features of the Web Application 1. No download is required. The application appears in the browser once the Shipment Monitoring Portal Web is selected. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 6 of 68

2. The columns in the Search Results are fixed. The user cannot move or save multiple column arrangements. 3. When the Search Results are downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet, all columns in the database are available for export. As with the Desktop Version, the resulting spreadsheet is fully functional. Requirements for the Desktop Version 1. You must have the Java Runtime Environment version 6.0 or later on your desktop. You can get this at http//www.java.com/en/download/inc/windows_upgrade_ie.jsp. 2. Java will be downloaded to your desktop automatically during the loading process if you do not already have it installed. Requirements for the Web Browser Version 1. Your system must be running any of the following Internet browsers: a. Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or later b. Mozilla Firefox Version 3.0 or later. A Note at the Outset The Shipment Monitoring Portal covered in Chapter TWO is a Java Web Start application. This means that the client application is downloaded from your browser to your desktop the first time that you launch it. Since the application runs on your computer, it will assume the visual characteristics that you have chosen for applications on your computer. There may be differences, therefore, between what you see depicted in this document and what you actually see as you work with the application. The functionality will be the same as described, but the appearance will probably be different. Exactly what you see when you work through various areas of the Shipment Monitoring Portal will depend upon your access and account requirements. Some users will see only one domain and account; others may see more than one account and may be able to access a wider array of information. This document covers both versions of the Shipment Monitoring Portal. Chapter TWO covers the Desktop Version, and Chapter THREE covers Shipment Monitoring Portal Web. Finally, this document works with artificial data from National Widget Company in order not to compromise real data from any of our customers. When real data is used, the identity of the customer is masked to protect the privacy of the data. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 7 of 68

Chapter TWO: The Shipment Monitoring Portal Desktop Application We will begin our discussions with the full Desktop version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal. The Web version will be discussed in Chapter THREE. Getting the Application You access the new application from your browser just as you do with other Transplace applications such as TMS Financials, Shipment Planning Screens, Shipment Status Exception Screens, Mode Execution Screens, and the Rating Maintenance screens You log in using your regular user name and password at www.transplace.com. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 8 of 68

Once you are logged in, you must select your group and account: You will then need to select the Shipment Monitoring Client from the list of available applications: [See arrow below.] [Note that both the Shipment Monitoring and External Shipment Monitoring are visible available here.] At this point, the download process will begin. During the process, several different screens will appear, and eventually you will see the Shipment Monitoring screen. Selecting a Language Option As Transplace continues to develop its international business, our applications are being internationalized to allow non-english speakers to use them easily. After the Shipment Monitoring Portal is loaded, you may be asked to select the language in which you wish to work: Once you have set this option, you will not be asked again. [This setting is shared with the Transplace Desktop Suite applications.] However, if you wish to change your selection, you can do so by clicking on the Option section at the top of any screen. Once this selection is completed, the system will dis- Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 9 of 68

play the Search Criteria Screen. [At the initial rollout of the application, the Spanish translation will not be available.] The Shipment Monitoring Portal in Detail Across the top of the screen, you will see three basic drop-down menus: File Menu The file menu contains a single option, Exit, which will close the desktop client and allow you to return to your previous display. Service Groups If you are eligible to see multiple service groups due to the role you play within Transplace, your presentation will look somewhat different from what is shown in the rest of this document. In the top drop-down group, for example, you will see an additional menu for Service Groups. You can select the appropriate Service group from the list, which is built based upon the actual Service Groups to which you have access. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 10 of 68

Options Menu The options menu has two selections: Size and Center The Shipment Monitoring Portal screen may be sized as you wish; you simply drag a corner of the screen until the size of the screen is what you wish. Selecting Size and Center returns the screen to its original size and centers it on your monitor. Clear Language Preference This choice allows you to reset the preferred language in which the Shipment Monitoring Portal is presented. [The Spanish version of this application will not be available at initial rollout.] Clearing the language selection will force you to make a language selection the next time you open the application. Help Menu This menu has a single option About. Selecting this option will show a screen giving the version information for the application you are using. The Shipment Monitoring Search Criteria Screen The purpose of the Shipment Monitoring Screen is to make available to the user information about existing and planned loads within the Transplace system. The first screen, therefore, is a set of search parameters that allow you to restrict the information that is used to search for your information. There are a number of different sections to the screen, each of which pertains to a similar range of search possibilities. Search Limitations and Parameters There are some limitations in the number of rows the Shipment Monitoring Portal Search screen will return, depending upon entered parameters. 1. At least one of the date ranges needs to be present and the period must be three months or less in length. 2. The normal limit on the number of returned rows will be 1000. This is for system performance reasons. a. If any of the three date ranges is 24 hours or less, there is no limit on the number of rows that will be returned. b. This 24-hour search needs to be limited to a single domain. The Shipment Monitoring Search Screen system will enforce these parameters. If both ranges are empty, the system will show an error. If only one date is entered, the system will adjust the missing date to be within three months. If both start and end dates are entered and the period exceeds three months, the system will adjust the end date to meet required criteria. Identifiers These are specific types of information that you can enter to restrict the range of the search. For example, if you are searching for a specific load, and you know the Transplace Mode Execution ID for that Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 11 of 68

load, you can enter it in the ME ID(s) field. When you select Search, only that mode execution and information concerning it will be returned. ME Id(s) This is the specific Transplace Identification for a load or shipment that is ready for assignment to a carrier or mode, or to which a carrier or mode has already been assigned. This is a priority field. If a mode execution ID is specified, the system will search for that ID and will ignore other parameters that may have been entered. Product Id(s) These are product identification numbers that have been provided to Transplace by the customer. One or more product identification numbers can be entered into this field. Product ID is also a priority field. Information entered here (as with the ME ID) will control what the system looks for regardless of other parameters that may have been included in the search. Trailer #(s) If you happen to know the trailer number into which your shipment has been loaded, you can enter that here to find information about one or more loads whose trailer numbers you provide. The Information Icon You will notice that some of the search criteria have a small blue information icon next to their title. This indicates a new feature that has been added with the Shipment Monitoring Portal. By placing your mouse over the icon, an explanation will be displayed telling you exactly what is available in terms of assistance with this field. For example, for Product Id(s) the information at the right is presented. As you can see, this field will accept wildcards and will allow negation. A wildcard (*) would be used, for example, to return all product ids that end with the criteria AD24* [Enter AD24*] Negation would be used to search for all Product Id(s) that do NOT begin in 436 [Enter!436* ]. In summary, the system supports wildcards of the format 123* and!123* ; it does NOT support *123 or!123. The next sentence indicates that the system will suggest possible Product Id(s) once you have entered the first two characters. The system offers will match what you input if it exists anywhere in the product number or description of the product. The product numbers available are restricted to the product numbers held by the TMS system for the domain and account you have selected; your choices are determined by your basic security for the Shipment Monitoring Portal. Your security will also set the Service Group options that you will have. Most Transplace 3PL accounts will not see Service Group information, which will be set to the 3PL option by default. References This section allows only one type of input, depending upon the drop-down menu. Name This drop down provides a variety of choices for the type of reference you wish to add. All will search for every instance of what you have entered into the Value(s) field. Selecting one of the other options by clicking on it with your mouse will search only for PO Numbers, Bills of Lading, Order Numbers, Pro Numbers, or Return numbers. Most Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 12 of 68

of these numbers are references that are provided to Transplace by either the customer or the carrier. Value(s) Type a numerical or alphanumerical value that is appropriate for the type of reference you have selected in the Name drop-down. Support Info This choice may or may not be available, depending upon your account. If available, this is used exactly as the Reference section (above) is used. Report Type This section of the Shipment Monitoring Portal determines the level of detail that will be returned when you search. You are able to change the level of detail once the search has been returned, if desired. Load This selection will return all information at the Mode Execution or full shipment level. This is a high level view of all shipments meeting other criteria you have specified. Freight/PO This selection provides you with the next higher level of detail down from the Load selection. A full truckload, for example, may have several Purchase Orders included in the shipment. This selection will present results using a row for each Purchase Order involved with each load meeting your other search criteria. Line Item/Products This is the highest level of detail and will generally return the greatest number of rows for review. Within each Purchase Order included in the Load, there will normally be at least one or more products or line items included. This selection will return a row for each line item on each PO included in each load that otherwise meets your search criteria. The resulting displays will be demonstrated later. Status This section of the Shipment Monitoring Portal allows you to select what kind of Mode Executions you wish to view. Specifically, you can view MEs in All statuses otherwise meeting your search criteria by selecting All All This choice returns all Mode Executions, regardless of status, that meet other criteria you have set for your search. Assigned This choice will return only MEs that are currently in an Assigned status. Cancelled This choice returns only Mode Executions that have been cancelled but have not yet had additional action taken on them. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 13 of 68

Delivered This selection will only return Mode Executions that are currently in a Delivered status. Hold This option returns only MEs that are currently in a Hold status for whatever reason. Late Event For most accounts, the All option is selected automatically so that the system will return any Mode Executions that are currently being shown as Late at any point in the shipment process. Origin and Destination These sections are presented together because they are basically identical in the information they allow the user to enter. Note that there is a blue ID icon on the Id(s), City, and Vendor(s) [Consignee(s)] fields. Placing a mouse over one of them shows that they are slightly different from what was seen in the Product Id(s) section above. For example, if you knew that the Origin or Destination City was Dallas, TX, you could simply type the first two letters into the City field and the system would offer you possible choices based upon the domain and account for which you are logged in. You select your choice from the listing with your mouse. Double clicking will fill in the appropriate fields on the screen, as you see on the right. The blue Information icon works the same way anywhere in the Shipment Monitoring portal. Note: If you have multiple location IDs to enter, and you already have those locations listed in an Excel spreadsheet, you may input those location IDs directly into the Location ID Field. Copy the list from the spreadsheet and paste it directly into the appropriate field; the application will automatically convert the ID information into the appropriate format for use in a search. Origin and Destination Lookup Often you will not know the specific information required to specify a shipment origin or destination accurately. The Spyglass icon will shift you to a new screen that allows you to search for all origins or destinations that are in the TMS system for the domain and account for which you are logged in. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 14 of 68

In this example, I used the city field to type in only the letters Dall (case insensitive) and selected Search. The system returned all of the options for origin locations in Dallas, TX available for National Widget Company, Widget Outbound account. I selected the two options by double clicking on each with my mouse, and the selected locations were copied to the bottom part of the screen. By clicking on the OK button, the information is automatically transferred to the Shipment Monitoring Portal Search Screen. Notice that there are two location ids, separated by a comma. If you wish to enter multiple location ids directly, make sure that you separate them with a comma. Vendors and Consignees Depending upon the specific account under which you are signed into the Shipment Monitoring Portal, you may not be able to use these two fields. If they are not available for your account, they will be grayed out. They will also be unavailable if you have selected multiple Domains and Accounts in the lower left-hand section of the Search Criteria screen. [Note that any field prefaced with an asterisk (*) will not be available if you have selected multiple domains for your search.] Account The screen will show all the domains and accounts for which you have security when you sign in to the Portal. If you have access to only one Domain, as is the case with National Widget, you will only see your account choices. You can select more than one account by clicking on them with your mouse, or you can select All, which is the top choice. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 15 of 68

Mode This selection will determine which mode(s) are searched by the Portal when you start the search. You can select one or more with your mouse, or All by selecting the top choice. SCAC(s) This field allows you to enter one or more carrier SCAC identifications to limit the search information that is returned. This choice has a blue information icon, and you need only enter the first two letters of the desired SCAC and the system will suggest all SCACs that meet your account criteria. In this case, there was only one SCAC for National Widget that begins with cc. Note: If you have multiple SCACs to enter, and you have them listed in an Excel spreadsheet, you can copy the SCACs from the spreadsheet directly into the SCAC field from the spreadsheet. The application will automatically convert the information in to the required format. This is true for any field that allows multiple entries. Bill to(s) This field allows you to enter one or more Bill To codes to limit the search information that will be returned. This field also has a blue information icon; you need only enter ONE letter into the field and the system will then suggest other Bill To codes that have that letter anywhere in the code. In this example, entering the letter n (not case sensitive) returns two possible Bill to codes for National Widget. Date Ranges You may specify the date and time, or a date and time range for both pickup and delivery. The dates and times will default to three working days before today s date, 00:00 local time, and six days later at 23:59 for delivery. You can alter these as needed. The easy way to do this is to select the drop-down arrow at the end of the date field. This will present a calendar, on which you can easily select the necessary dates. Times can be entered simply by typing over the existing numbers. There are arrows at the top of the calendar that allows you to move the month forward or backward as needed. Miscellaneous This section of the screen has three basic choices. Include Unplanned The Shipment Monitoring Portal was originally intended to look primarily at full loads that had already been assigned to a mode provider. If this option is checked, you will also see loads that are still in Shipment Planning status and have not yet been moved to Mode Execution. This may result in longer search time and larger search result displays. [Note that this option is checked as the default.] Cross Dock Report If your account uses Cross Docks and you have checked this block, the search results will include both the inbound and outbound legs of shipments passing through a cross dock that is active for your account. You will see two separate rows in your returned information, one of which represents the inbound leg, and one (or more) of which represent the outbound leg from the cross dock. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 16 of 68

Important Note: If you have selected Cross Dock Report, you must have at least one valid Origin and/or Destination selected. If you do not, the system will show you an error message. Service Group If you have access to more than one Service Group based on the role you play with Transplace, you will see an additional choice in the Miscellaneous area. You will be able to include loads from other service groups in your search results, if needed. Search Templates A template is a pre-set collection of Shipment Monitoring Portal search options that allows you to easily replicate often-used search criteria. When you log in initially, this section will be blank because you have not yet created any search templates. You can create your own templates as you become more familiar with the screens and save them for use both by yourself and by others. When you activate the Save button, you will be asked to provide a unique name for your template. You may wish to choose this with care, since it can be shared with other users and you may not want to make it too account specific. Once the template is saved, it will be available in the Search Templates section whenever you need it. Simply select it and click on the Open button at the bottom of the section. [This is identical to the functionality in the Transplace TMS Desktop Suite.] Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 17 of 68

Search Priority When a specific mode execution id, or reference number with a value, or both, are entered into the search criteria screen, those items will take priority when the system begins to search, regardless of what else may have been entered. These fields are the most specific single piece of information for which you can search, and therefore they take the highest priority. Starting the Search In the lower right-hand corner of the screen there are the final items needed to conduct your search: The Search Results Table Preferences window and drop down allows you to choose a specific template to use for the conduct of this search. The Search button executes the search, and the Reset button clears all of the fields on the screen so that you can start over with a new search. SMP Proc - Consignee Search/Display [ITPD-4497] This change is behind the scenes and allows the user to include intermediate consignee when conducting load level searches in SMP desktop screen. Here is a sample series showing consignee inclusion in a Shipment Monitoring Portal search: Shipment Monitoring Portal Search Results: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Shipment Monitoring Portal Search Results Freight View: Un-check "Include Unplanned" box in Shipment Monitoring as the Default [ITPD-5131] [Added 1 June 2013] Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 19 of 68

This changes the default setting of the Include Unplanned block on both the Shipment Monitoring Client and the Shipment Monitoring Web applications. The default is now that these blocks are NOT checked. The Shipment Monitoring Search Results Screen Here is a result of a sample search for loads: The Shipment Monitoring Portal shares many characteristics with other Desktop applications that Transplace has designed and implemented recently. We will look at these features before we go into the search results in detail. There are some limitations in the number of rows the SMP Search screen will return, depending upon entered parameters. The SMP Search system will enforce these parameters. If both ranges are empty, the system will show an error. If only one date is entered, the system will adjust the missing date to be within three months. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 20 of 68

If both start and end dates are entered and the period exceeds three months, the system will adjust the end date to meet required criteria. Search Result Columns and Table Customization The Shipment Monitoring Portal Results contain MANY columns, not all of which may be useful to you and your account. It is impossible to display ALL of the columns at one time in a document such as this. You can display most of the columns by moving your mouse over the small arrow to the left of any line in the search results. A sample of such a vertical presentation is seen at the right. The Search Results screen has a scroll bar on both the vertical and horizontal borders if the amount of data exceeds what can be displayed on the screen itself. Most users will need to go through the Search Results screen and reorganize the columns by dragging and dropping needed columns to the left so that they are visible. You can also sort the entire table on a given column (or multiple columns) by clicking on the column title with your mouse. The column title block will show an arrow with the direction of the sort. Clicking a second time will change the direction of the sort. Clicking multiple columns in the desired order will result in a multiple column sort in that order. You can remove any sorting you have created by right clicking on the column heading and selecting the Remove Sorting option. If you click on the column title area with your right mouse button, you will see a pop-up display like the one on the right that outlines the options for table arrangement: The Show/Hide Columns choice on this popup allows you to select which columns you would like display or hide. (See left.) To hide a column, simply remove the check mark by clicking on it with your mouse. You can restore the column by adding a check by clicking on a blank box. The Arrange Columns selection allows you to arrange the order in which the columns are displayed in case you do not wish to drag and drop. On this option, you simply select a column and then move the order in which it is dis- Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 21 of 68

played using the arrow buttons on the right side of the menu. Once you have customized the screen to meet your needs, you can save the results by selecting the Save Table Preferences As at the top of the bottom section of the pop-up. You can save several different preferences for any table by giving each saved version a unique name. To select one of these preferences, select Open Table Preference. You can then select Default, or any of the named preferences you have created [See table at right.] If you decide that you no longer need one of these choices, you can delete that version by selecting Delete Table Preferences. [See table at left.] Simply select the version to be deleted. You will be asked to confirm that you do, in fact, wish to delete this choice. You can also change the arrangement of columns in an existing variation and then re-save it to ensure that it will be picked up as you intended next time you open the selection. To save a new preference, make your arrangement and then select Save Table Preference As. As seen at the right, you will be asked to provide a name for your new arrangement. Note that Automatically re-size columns is selected by default. This means that the while the order of the columns you have saved will be preserved the next time you open the Shipment Monitoring Portal Client if you saved your preferences, the width of the columns you set up will not necessarily be what you specified. To ensure that column width is also preserved on saving, click on Automatically resize columns with your mouse to remove the check. You may wish to review all of the options on the screen to ensure that your preferences are checked and therefore preserved by the system when you save. Here are the rules for setting up and naming table preferences: 1. Table preferences include column order, sorting, column widths, and whether or not to automatically resize the columns to fit the data. 2. Users can save their table preferences. If a user is saving a new table preference (Save As), he/she must enter a name for it. The name "Default" is reserved, and cannot be used. The new table preference name must be unique for the table and user. 3. A user can open the Default table preference or a table preference that he/she has already saved. 4. A user can delete an already saved table preference. If the preference being deleted is currently open, then the Default preference will be opened. Users cannot delete the Default preference. 5. A user can rename an opened table preference. A preference cannot be renamed to "Default" or an already used name (for user and table.) Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 22 of 68

If you look across the top of the table, you will see the following choices: You can restrict the display to a smaller number of rows by typing an appropriate filtering text into the left-hand box. You can also select the Individual table preference you wish to use by selecting it on the Preference: drop-down. This will display all of the table preferences you have saved for this screen. You can modify an existing table preference, and save it directly from the Search Results screen using the Save icon at the right-hand end of the Preference field. Search Result Screen Functionality Here again is the Search Results Screen Changing Report Type on the Results Screen As noted earlier, there are three kinds of reports available on the Shipment Monitoring Portal load level, PO/Freight Level, and Line Item Detail. The sample above was originally generated based on load level information. You can also show PO level information for any row in a load level display by clicking on it with your mouse: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 23 of 68

In the sample above, I have selected a load level row from the report (green shading). After one click, that creates a second row, which contains freight/po level information for that load (light blue shading). Double clicking on the PO level row will open however many rows are required to show all the line items on this shipment. Each row will be shaded with a slightly different color to make them stand out. A single small down arrow indicates that this is a freight detail row. A double down arrow indicates that this is a line item level row. Add 'Packaging Unit' to list of fields visible within Shipment Monitoring [ITDS-57382] Added 19 February 2014 This issue adds the field Packaging Unit to the Shipment Monitoring application Search Results list. Creating a Master Manifest from the Shipment Monitoring Portal When you select one or more rows on the Shipment Monitor Results screen, the two buttons on the bottom of the screen the Download and the Master Manifest button become operational. Clicking on the Master Manifest button will create a manifest for the load you have selected. Here is a sample: Downloading Portal Information to an Excel Spreadsheet Select one or more rows on the Shipment Monitoring Results screen and check the small boxes at the left-hand end of the row. Then activate the Download button with your mouse. You will shortly be asked if you wish to open the spreadsheet directly or store it for use later. If you select the former option, the spreadsheet will open directly. The latter option will ask you for a name and location to store the file. Here is a sample of such a spreadsheet: Note that this is a fully functional Excel spreadsheet in that the formatting of individual cells is correct for the data that is included in them. Numbers are translated as numbers, dates as dates, etc. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 25 of 68

The Change Icon Occasionally as you are working with a search result screen, you will notice that a small icon appears on a line after you have completed the search. This is the Change icon, and it indicates that a change has occurred to this item during the time that you have been working with it. Viewing Imaged Documents Following 3 April 2010, users employing the Desktop version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal will be able to view imaged documents associated with specific MEs if their account has been configured for this feature. This functionality will also be available in the Web version, but only after 1 May 2010. Again, the user s account will need to be configured to employ this functionality. How Image Viewing Works The Search Results Table now contains a new field called Paperwork. Accounts that have been configured for Image Viewing will see a small paperwork icon inside the field if there are documents available in the image files for the Mode Execution they are viewing. Here is a sample: [Note: This column will normally occur at the right-hand end of the table.] Hovering your mouse over the icon in the Paperwork field will list the documents available. Clicking on the icon with a single left click will open the image for viewing: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 26 of 68

You can download the image, which will be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format for use as needed. [If you do not have a copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest version), you will need to submit a JIRA ticket requesting Desktop Services to install it for you.] Items Added 13 October 2012 ME Client, SMP-Reference Pop Up Display [ITPD-4381] This change implements a pop-up in the Shipment Monitoring Portal and in the Shipment Execution (Mode Execution) application to provide additional information to the user for fields where this is needed. Here are two examples from the Shipment Execution Application. In the sample below, the icon in the TMS Purchase Order column indicates that additional information is available. When you hover the mouse over the icon, the pop-up content is displayed. If more than twenty rows of information are available, the pop-up automatically adds columns and displays all of the available information. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 27 of 68

In the sample below, the icon in the Additional Support Info column indicates more information is available. If you hover your mouse over the icon, this content is displayed in pop-up form. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 28 of 68

Similar capabilities exist in the Shipment Monitoring Portal (SMP). The icon in Additional Support Info contains information that can be displayed in pop-up form by hovering your mouse over the icon. Please note that this change does not involve any new functionality; it just corrects the display of additional support information/references so that they look consistent between Shipment Execution and Shipment Monitoring Portal. Update Image Doc Type from ME Client [ITPD-4392] Update Image Doc Type from TMS Financials [ITPD-4393] These changes are related. A new tab has been added to the Shipment Execution Details screen called Images. Please do not email your images or document type corrections to the Document Management Group. Use the self-service functionality described below for these purposes. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 29 of 68

Shipment Execution Client In the sample above, there are no images at this time. To upload an image from this tab, click on the Upload Image button. The system will present a Windows Explorer window in which you can select the image you wish to upload. Once you click OK, this system will present a Document Type window in which you can tell the system what type of document this is by choosing an option from the drop-down menu. In the sample below, the document has been uploaded. To view all images for this Shipment Execution (ME), click on the View All Images button. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 30 of 68

Here is what you see for this sample when you click View All Images. If you need to change the document type after upload, you can do so with the Change Paperwork Type button. When you click on this choice, the Input image box seen above will appear and you can choose an option from the drop-down menu. Note that the functionality described here is also found on the Shipment Execution Details screen on the TMS Financials tab. TMS Financials Client Similar document upload functionality has been added to the TMS Financials application. Look in the Doc Type field for the drop down shown below. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 31 of 68

These options work exactly as discussed for the ME Client Images tab above. Item Added 12 January 2013 Provide Appointment Change History with Reason Codes in SMP [ITPD-4741] SMP now shows detailed appointment change history with reason codes and comments. On the Results screen, date changes would be shown as a hyperlink. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 32 of 68

Clicking on the hyperlink will display the appointment changes and reason codes for the selected load: This functionality no longer makes it necessary to email images or document type information to the Document Management Group. Using the tools above is quicker, easier, and more efficient for all concerned. Last Known Position in Shipment Monitoring [ITPD-5155] [Added 1 June 2013] Here are the rules that are now used to determine the Last Known Position displayed in Shipment Monitoring Portal. Note that these rules apply for both the Shipment Monitoring Portal (Desktop) and the Shipment Monitoring Portal (Web). Given: an ME has been tendered And: accepted by a carrier And: the Order Type is Any Order Type And: the Mode Type is Any Mode Type When: a shipment status is received via EDI or Carrier Portal or manually entered a. Here is a sample using the ME ID field from the Shipment Execution Search screen: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 34 of 68

If the selected field is blank, only the Paste option will be visible. Note that the Cut option will remove the content of the selected field when the contents are copied to the clipboard. Copy will leave the existing field data intact. Item Added 12 October 2013 Shipment Monitoring Portal International Screens [ITPD-5553] Changes have been made to the Shipment Monitoring Portal Screens to provide information air and ocean shipments similar to the changes outlined above. Here is a sample SMP Search Results Screen: The screen for the Air link is identical. Here are the Air and Ocean Shipment Monitoring Portal Screens Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 35 of 68

Air Ocean Chapter THREE External Shipment Monitoring The full Shipment Monitoring Portal application is a stand-alone tool that is downloaded when you select it. The External Shipment Monitoring application does not require a download the application is presented within your browser. Since it is presented in a browser, the amount of screen real estate is limited, and the default data displayed is not so complete as it is in the client application. Getting the application You select the External Shipment Monitoring application from your Operations Menu, in the same manner that you did with the client application. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 36 of 68

There is no download, so the resulting browser screen looks like this: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 37 of 68

All of the search parameters that are present in the Shipment Monitoring Desktop application are present on the External Shipment Monitoring browser screen. There are some important differences, however. You will note that there are very few drop-down menus, and no information icons, or lookup icons. The Web version requires the user to know most of the information for which he/she wishes to search at the outset, or have access to it from external lists, programs, or memory. There are some limitations in the number of rows the SMP Web Search screen will return, depending upon entered parameters. The SMP Web Search system will enforce these parameters. If both ranges are empty, the system will show an error. If only one date is entered, the system will adjust the missing date to be within three months. If both start and end dates are entered and the period exceeds three months, the system will adjust the end date to meet required criteria. The Web version still provides the user with help filling in information. The graphic below shows what information you receive when you place your mouse over several of the Web fields. For example, typing the letters pho in to the Origin Location field will produce the choices shown at the right. Click on the desired city and the information will be filled into the field automatically. If you need to change the dates for your search, the Web version provides a calendar for your selection just as the client version does. Using the calendar ensures that dates are entered into the system in the Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 38 of 68

correct format. Creating Search Templates Users can create search templates in the Web version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal in exactly the same way that they do in the Desktop Version. Set up all the parameters you seed for a particular search, and then click on the Save button in the Search Templates section in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. You will need to provide a unique name in the box to the left of the Load button, and after you save your selections, it will appear in the template list. NOTE: Templates you may have created in the Desktop Shipment Monitoring Portal will NOT transfer to the Web version, or vice versa. You will need to create a separate template in each system. Once created, each template will remain within that system list unless you delete it. You load or delete a template in exactly the same way that you do in the main Shipment Monitoring client select the template and click on the Load or the Delete button. Conducting a Search in External Shipment Monitoring After selecting a template or setting all of your desired parameters, simply select the Search button by clicking on it with your mouse. Un-check "Include Unplanned" box in Shipment Monitoring as the Default [ITPD-5131] [Added 1 June 2013] This changes the default setting of the Include Unplanned block on both the Shipment Monitoring Client and the Shipment Monitoring Web applications. The default is now that these blocks are NOT checked. Search Results in Shipment Monitoring Web Here are the results of a search using the Web version of the application: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 39 of 68

Unlike the full version of the application, search results columns are fixed and the user cannot change what is displayed on the screen. The primary reason for this is to improve performance. The columns displayed change with the report type selection. Individual columns can be sorted using the small arrows in each column header. This will result in the entire display being sorted based on the values in that column. If your search returns more than 25 rows, you will need to select additional displays of 25 to see all of your results. This is shown on the graphic below. Last Known Position in Shipment Monitoring [ITPD-5155] [Added 1 June 2013] Here are the rules that are now used to determine the Last Known Position displayed in Shipment Monitoring Portal. Note that these rules apply to both the Shipment Monitoring Portal (Desktop) and the Shipment Monitoring Portal (Web). Given: an ME has been tendered And: accepted by a carrier And: the Order Type is Any Order Type And: the Mode Type is Any Mode Type When: a shipment status is received via EDI or Carrier Portal or manually entered a. Page 40 of 68

Then: the Last Known Position will be updated based on the check call And: the Last Known Position Time will be updated based on the check call Selecting Report Type One of the major differences between the Web version and the full Shipment Monitoring Client is that the Web version Search Results screen does not allow you to select a row, click on it, and see information about Freight and then Line Items on that load. If you wish to see Freight-level results, you must select Freight/PO in the Report Type before executing the search. Likewise, if you want to see Line Item results, you must select Line Item/Products in the Report Type. The specific columns displayed by the Web version differ depending upon the Report Type Selected. Here is an example of a Line Item/Product search: This display shows the Purchase Order Number as well as the Product Numbers and Product Identifications included in this Mode Execution. Note that the ME number is the same for both of these rows. [This is an excerpt from a larger screen shot.] Downloading a Master Manifest in Shipment Monitoring Portal Web You will notice a small page icon next to the Transplace Load Number (ME ID) in the Search Results screen. Clicking on this icon will create a printable Master Manifest from the Shipment Monitoring Portal Web application. Here is a sample: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 41 of 68

Downloading a Shipping Placard in Shipment Monitoring Portal Web [As of this writing, only one Transplace account utilizes this capability.] If your account supports shipping placards, you will see two icons next to the Transplace Load Number (ME ID) in the Search Results display. The first icon is the Master Manifest icon (discussed above). The second icon indicates that you can print a pallet placard by clicking on this symbol. Here is a sample pallet placard: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 42 of 68

Downloading a Report in External Shipment Monitoring Although the individual columns from the load that you see are fixed in the Web version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal, the same restriction does not exist when you wish to download a report. You can select however many columns you wish the report to contain, as you see below: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 43 of 68

Here is a partial sample of the resulting Excel Spreadsheet from a Web Download. When you first press the Export key, you will be given a choice either to open the download directly in Excel, or to save the file for later viewing as a spreadsheet. You can tell the system to always follow your selected action by clicking on the Do this automatically for files like this from now on. As with the Desktop Version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal, the resulting spreadsheet is a fully functioning Excel spreadsheet. Columns can be shifted, sorted, and otherwise manipulated as you would with any spreadsheet. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 44 of 68

Setting the Language in Shipment Monitoring Portal Web You set the language option differently in the Web version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal. It must be set in the browser rather than in the application itself. Select the Tools menu. At the bottom, you will find the Internet Options menu [Left]. Selecting that option will bring up the Internet Options Menu. On the bottom of that menu, select Languages. [Right] When the language screen comes up, you will need to select Spanish and move it to the top of the selection list. (See below). When you click OK, your new language option will be set. [Please note that this will set your language to Spanish for all of your browser activities. There may be times when this is not desirable.] Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Chapter FOUR Changing Shipment Execution Data in External Shipment Monitoring Transplace had an application for many years that allowed a limited number of accounts and users to add, delete, and change freight data on individual Shipment Executions. That functionality has now been moved into the web version of the Shipment Monitoring Portal. Here is the main screen ready for searching. Users search for loads containing Shipment Executions: Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 46 of 68

When a particular load containing a Shipment Execution is selected by clicking on the red hyperlink, the following screen results for users who have access to the freight movement functionality: As indicated in the graphic above, authorized users can add, delete, or move checked freight. They can also delete or add line items to the shipment by checking the box at the left-hand end of the display and clicking on the indicated links at the bottom of the section. If the user wants to delete freight from the load, clicking on the Delete Checked link produces this pop-up menu requesting additional information about the deleted freight. shown. If the selected freight is to be moved to another load, the user will see the pop-up shown at the left. The user will need to provide the load to which the freight is to be moved as well as the additional information When the user adds freight, the pop-up at the right requests additional information. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 47 of 68

Line items can also be added and deleted using the Line Item section of the screen. [Note that Line Items are not visible to all users.] If a Line Item is selected and the Delete Checked option selected, the line item is removed immediately. As indicated earlier, this functionality is limited to only two accounts and their users. Most users of the External Shipment Monitoring portal will not have access to this capability. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 48 of 68

Chapter FIVE -- Summary Both versions of the Shipment Monitoring Portal are a convenient way for users to review shipment status information at a level of detail that will be sufficient for most users. If high levels of specifics are needed, it will still be best to use the appropriate client from the Transplace Desktop Suite for detailed examination of Mode Executions and Shipment Plans, or to handle Shipment Status Exceptions. The fact that the Shipment Monitoring Portal exists in two forms should make it easily accessible and useful for users who need the kind of information that the portal was designed to provide. Feedback concerning this documentation is welcome. Item added on 20 August 2011 Cancelling Long-Running Searches [ITPD-2304] You can now cancel long-running searches when you think something has caused the search to go longer than expected. While the search is running, you will see the display at the left. Clicking on the Cancel button will terminate the search. This functionality has been added to the following screens: ISD Error Correction, Shipment Planning, Mode Execution Search, and Shipment Monitoring Desktop. Item Added 17 September 2011 Wildcard Reference Search in Shipment Monitoring Portal [ITPD-2422] The behavior of the Reference Search process in Shipment Monitoring Portal has been changed. This change pertains specifically to the Reference Number search. Desktop Version Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 49 of 68

Web Version Before the change, the screen would always perform a wildcard-like ref # search. It would do a partial match of input string to the reference values in database, i.e. 123 would return references 123, 123x, 123xyz etc. The new search logic will do an exact match, i.e. 123 will return 123 only, unless user puts an asterisk at the end of the string, i.e. to get something close to the old behavior the user needs to enter 123* When doing search for 123* screen will apply other specified search criteria (e.g. dates, etc.) as well. Other search criteria were ignored before. There was no way to limit search results when searching by ref #; Searching for 1 would return thousands of results because there are so many references in the database starting with digit 1. Items Added by 12 November 2011 Promote List Box for Order Type on Shipment Monitoring Desktop [ITDS-23358] [ITPD-2645] The Order Type field on the Shipment Monitoring Desktop application has been changed to a List Box that accepts multiple selections. Previously, it was a drop-down menu that only allowed a single selection. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 50 of 68

New Warning Message Popup in Shipment Monitoring [ITPD-2704] A popup message has been added to warn users who attempt to print a Bill of Lading for a load that has not yet been accepted by a carrier. Here is an example: The example above is from the Shipment Monitoring Client; the same functionality is also available from the External Shipment Monitoring application. Items added 3 March 2012 Shipment Monitoring Portal Web Add/View Customer Comments [ITPD-3096] To add customer comments, click on the Memo icon displayed next to the Load Number. Copyright 2011-2013 Transplace All rights reserved. Page 51 of 68

Once you have clicked on the icon, the comments popup will appear: Add a New Freight Attribute Business Unit [ITPD-3052] A new Freight Attribute ( Business Unit ) has been added to the following screens Shipment Execution, ME Order Entry, ISD Error Correction, Shipment Planning, and Shipment Monitoring Portal (both Desktop and Web) screens. JSF Calendar Popup Closing Issue [ITPD-2990] Changes have been implemented so that calendars on various JSF apps like Carrier Portal, FAM 2.0 and others will now close properly when used. Items Added 28 April 2012 Allow Search by Inactive SCACs in Shipment Monitoring Portal and Shipment Execution [ITPD- 3237] Shipment Monitoring Portal and Shipment Execution now allow searches by inactive SCACS.
