SCOTTISH RUGBY UNION Action Plan 2014-2016 Action Plan Update December 2016 Scottish Rugby s Action Plan 2014-16 set out the Goals, Actions and Performance Indicators Scottish Rugby sought to achieve over the plan period. Progress against this Plan has been regularly monitored by Scottish Rugby s internal Action Team, and the group s assessment of the progress being made has been documented in the attached schedules. A traffic light monitoring system has also been prepared for ease of reference. An overview of the key points is set out below. Status Update The 2014-16 Action Plan contained 40 Actions, all of which were due to be completed within the Plan period i.e. by 31 December 2016. As at 28 th November 2016 thirty four of these planned Actions had been fully completed (being 85% of the total). In addition: Three Actions relating to Engagement with Black and Ethnic Minority Communities have been partially, but not yet fully, completed. These Actions numbers 1.2.1, 2.3.1 and 2.4.1 - sought to ensure that Scotland s black and ethnic minority communities are fully engaged with the game. Progress has been made towards this objective and Scottish Rugby continues to engage with BEMIS (Black and Ethnic Minorities In Scotland) in this regard; and The remaining three Actions (6.1.1, 6.1.2 and 6.1.3) all relate to the development of a new Action Plan to take the game beyond 2014-16. Preparatory work in this regard has recently commenced and it is anticipated that the new Plan will be ready for approval by the end of March 2017. In summary, considerable progress has been achieved over the Plan period - with those equality objectives Scottish Rugby set itself for the period now substantially achieved. Preparation is now underway for a new Plan to help take the game forward. This new Plan will build on the successes of the Action Plan 2014-16.
