As a member of the senior management team of the Institutional Advancement Department of the university, this position is critical to the achievement of the Phase I philanthropic goals. Working with the President, the Campaign Co-Chair(s), the Campaign Consultant, the Key Development Staff and key volunteers, this position will have daily responsibility for capital campaign solicitation of major donor prospects. Please note telecommuting within the state of Texas may be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the President. 1. Work within the fundraising plan for Phase I of the campaign which focuses on prospects in Texas and nationally 2. Assist in the recruitment of regional Campaign Co-chairs and Steering Committee members 3. Work in concert with the campaign consultant with each of the seven regional Steering Committees to solicit prospects in that region 4. Strategize and plan the solicitation of each major donor prospect (individual, foundation and corporation) including appropriate solicitors; ask amounts, solicitation materials using research 5. Plan and implement campaign donor cultivation events for each campaign region 6. Develop and/or oversee the development of campaign proposals 7. Personally solicit major donor prospects and planned giving prospects as appropriate 8. Utilize Raiser s Edge for prospect tracking, soliciting, and reporting 9. Maintain thorough and updated records on campaign gifts and pledge commitments 10. Supervise the Capital Campaign Coordinator to ensure administrative back-up to the campaign 11.
