Patel School of Global Sustainability Vision: The Patel School of Global Sustainability (PSGS) at the University of South Florida will foster sustainable urban communities and environments through collaborative research, education and community involvement. Its research will generate innovations and new knowledge that will help cities around the world, including those in developing countries, to reduce their ecological footprint while improving their form and function to make them healthier, more livable and more resilient. Water Experts Needed! At least 30% of the U.S. workforce in the water sector is expected to retire in the next decade. -(American Water Works Association, 2010) Improving Lives: Access to clean water and sanitation was key to increasing the life span of U.S. citizens. In 1900, the average life span was about 45 years, which increased to nearly 80 years by 2000.
