The time and efforts they expend for their family and their work place realization their physical, psychological, emotional and social components. So it is important for women to balance between their family and work. This paper targets at analyzing the difference between level of Work Life Balance among male and female middle level employees and the main reason behind the difference. Key words; work life balance, women INTRODUCTION Women of the early centuries were mostly narrowed to their kitchens and those who were employed worked in factories, farms or shop works. Very rare woman s had the admission to higher education and they were forced to be at the clemency of their fathers or husbands insolences towards women and work. The fast developing knowledge economy has given place for more number of women to be open-minded by higher education. Education has not only permitted them but also has given them tough careers. With brain power being the essential skill in this knowledge era, rather than strength or physical strength, the women workers seem to torrent into every industry on balance with men. But this has really become a tough challenge for women as they have to achieve a lot of duties in home and office as well. As working women get married, they have additional duties and when they become mothers, they have to manage the main care of children and protracted family and are thus, under countless pressure to continue on a career path. Working mothers of today fulfill family responsibilities and also try to continue fully involved in their careers managing up with the challenging demands of their multiple roles. The caring responsibilities that working mothers have lays a hefty stress on them when it is joint with their professional duties. The attempt of working women to participate, organize and balance the various problems and activities in their different roles concurrently puts them under tremendous pressure. Work Life Balance of Women employee has become an important subject then the women are equally sharing the earning responsibility for the advancement of their family. Women are getting into jobs and they continue to work even after marriage. A married woman has more responsibility than man in taking care of young kids and family. The working women professionally overcome difficult situations by their obligation and perseverance. The participation of women in income generation activities lends them to satisfy their family needs to a countless extent. This paper aims to review the existing literature on Work Life Balance of Women Employee with an identification of various characteristics towards the achievement of work life balance. Need for the Study In order to maintain an effective, productive and mentally healthy labor force, management should create an atmosphere that will enable people to actualize their full potential. The organizations need to consider the employees as human beings who have the other side of lives apart from employment. When their personal and social lives are taken care of the employees will contribute their full potential to the organization. This contribution will benefit both the employee as well as the employer. This study intends to analyze the association between family type and the number of promotions of an employee and his/her level of work life balance. Limitations of this study This study was conducted only at trichy and also mainly concentrate on the women employees only. Consequences of work life imbalance Mental health is a balancing act that may be affected by the influence of upsetting disturbance, by private pressures and most recently by the stress of working. Many people expose themselves unsolicited to the job stress, because the hard worker enjoys a very high social recognition. These aspects can be the cause of an imbalance in the areas of life. But there are also other reasons which can lead to such an imbalance. Objectives INTERCONTINENTAL JOURNAL OF HUMAN RESOURCE RESEARCH REVIEW To find the various reasons for work life imbalance. To find the ways for improving women s work life balance. To analyze and study the challenges faced by women employees day and night shifts Scope The scope of the study was limited to the working women of Trichy from the BPO and IT sectors regarding the challenges that they face in balancing professional life and personal life. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY; Description of the sample; The study was conducted among the working women of Trichy. A sample of 100 working women s was selected using convenient sampling. They were from IT and BPO sectors 50 from each sector chosen for this study. This study focused only working women at Trichy. Tools for Data collection; The Following variables are used data collection are, 1. Social Needs 2. Personal Needs 3. Time Management 4. Team Work 5. Compensation Benefits 6. Data collection The Researcher has selected profession from BPO and IT sectors in around Trichy. And this study only focused on working women. Primary Data To obtain the primary data, a survey was conducted among the working woman through structured questionnaire. Most of the respondents were satisfied with the Organization s compensation benefits Most of the respondents are satisfied with the working hours and nature of work SUGGESTIONS Women Employees have low level of work life balance in the dimensions of Time Management and Work Flexibility. Hence Organization can provide flexible time if it is possible. The Organizations provide training programs for the improvement of Women employees CONCLUSION The implementation of work life balance programs has both individual and organizational benefits. Effective work life balance programs facilitate a cooperative relationship between the employee and employer for mutual benefits to both of them. Employees who are better able to balance the demands on their time and they perform very well. It is understood from the concept of work life balance that fulfillment of Time management is the important forecasters of work life balance. So the organizations (IT & BPOs in Trichy) should focus on work life balance of women employees by enriching the role efficacy of women employees & their Self Development www.icmrr.org 163 icmrrjournal@gmail.com
