Junction 42 exists to see the lives of offenders and their communities transformed by the hope of the Gospel Our Ethos Principles In the power of God we aspire to create a place of love and grace where people are encouraged and challenged to make a difference. Enablers Through creating opportunities and building energising relationships we will journey with individuals as they discover their God given potential. Outcomes As faith develops we will see peoples' lives transformed so they in turn make a positive contribution to their communities. Our values Journeying with Junction 42 is not a project run by the church. It is creating something with people not for people. Ownership is held by everyone meaning everyone helps make it happen and has a place. Inspirational Recognising that those from similar background who have seen their lives transformed are an inspiration and have an important part in work and leadership Relational Increasing the opportunity to build positive relationships, finding acceptance and being part of the family. Missional Acknowledging that people openly and naturally tell their friends and family about their faith. Creating Opportunities Giving opportunities and experiences that will grow individuals from work placements, employment and days out to mission trips.

Job Club Community Junction 42 works in two main areas - Faith and Enrichment, Education & Enterprise - in prison and in the community. This looks different across the prisons and communities we work in but here s some details about a few of the projects we re involved in to give you an idea about our work: Creative Arts We run part-time courses using different forms of creative arts to promote personal and social development. These courses may use drama, art, music, creative writing and more in addition to one-off projects bringing in external artists offering their own expertise. Chaplaincy We run Alpha and discipleship groups in every prison we work in, offering an introduction to the Christian faith and equipping those who have come to faith so they can mature spiritually and spread the Gospel themselves. Job Club Our CAP Job Club offers employment support to those with convictions facing barriers to employment. This course involves practical support, such as assistance with CVs, links clients to job opportunities and challenges the negative mindsets towards employment that many ex-offenders hold. Connect Connect groups in the community bring together people from local churches with exoffenders, homeless and addicts to share a meal and worship together. This creates a supportive community for those who may have very little other support, both practical and emotional. Currently there are groups belonging to the Connect Network in Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland.
