Section 09250 GYPSUM DRYWALL 1.00 GENERAL: A. Gypsum Association Specification GA216 and manufacturer's instruction (whichever is more stringent). 2.00 DRYWALL MATERIALS: A. Exposed Gypsum Board: ASTM C36 1. Long Edges: Standard taper 2. Thickness: a. 1/2" regular on interior partitions, except where noted. b. 5/8" fire code on exterior walls c. 1/2" or 5/8" WR drywall on plumbing walls B. Trim Accessories: Provide manufacturer's standard metal trim accessories, of the beaded type with face flanges for concealment in joint compound except where semi finishing or exposed type is indicated. C. Fastening Adhesive for Wood Framing: ASTM C557. Supplement adhesive with permanent or temporary fasteners as recommended by manufacturer. D. Gypsum Board Fasteners: Type recommended by gypsum board manufacturer, except as otherwise indicated. E. Joint Tape: ASTM C475, perforated. F. Joint Compound: ASTM C475, of the type indicated. 1. Provide ready mixed, vinyl type for interior work. a. Provide a single multipurpose compound for three courses of compound application. 3.00 DRYWALL INSTALLATION AND FINISHING: A. Install gypsum boards in lengths and directions which will minimize number of end joints, and avoid end joints in central area of ceilings. Install walls and partitions with exposed gypsum boards vertical, with joints off set on opposite sides of partitions. B. Drywall Finishing: Except as otherwise indicated, apply joint tape and joint compound at accessory flanges, penetrations, fasteners heads and surface defects. 1. Armstrong (or equal) Cortega, Nondirectional fissured, 2 x 4 x 5/8" thick or approved equal. B. Suspension System: As required to support acoustical units, fixtures, and other components as indicated anchorages, hangers, runners, cross runners, splines, clips, moldings, fasteners and other members, devices and accessories. Comply with requirements of ASTM C 635. 1. Hanger Wire: Not less than 12 gauge (0.106") galvanized steel. 2. Type: Exposed "Tee" Direct Hung Steel Suspension System. Color: White 3.00 EXECUTION A. Layout: Balance ceiling borders on opposite sides, using more than half width acoustical units. B. Tolerance: 1/8" in 12'0" level tolerance. C. Suspension System: Secure to building structure, with hangers spaced 4'0" along supported members. D. Edge Moldings: Secure to substrate with screw anchors spaced 16" o.c. Section 09650 RESILIENT FLOORING 1.00 GENERAL: A. Submittals: With manufacturer's product data and installation instructions, submit the following: 1. Samples of each type, color and pattern of resilient flooring and accessories; full size for tile, and 2 1/2" long for accessories. 2. Maintenance instructions for each type of flooring. B. Colors and Patterns: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's standard colors and patterns. 2.00 PRODUCTS: A. Vinyl Composition Tile: Federal Spec SST-312B, Type IV Composition 1; 12 x 12 x 1/8" gage. 1. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements Kentile Flooring, Inc. Armstrong World Industries Azrock Flooring Products Division Flintkote Flooring Division GAF, Flooring Products Division Congoleum Corporation Or equal B. Vinyl Wall Base: FS-SS-W-40, Type II; 4" high; 0.080" gage; with standard top set cove or straight - see Room Finish Schedule. C. Resilient Edge Strips: Not less than 1" width; 1/8" gage; tapered bull nose edge, color to match flooring or as selected by Architect. D. Adhesive: Water resistant as approved by the manufacturer. E. Leveling Material: Latex Underlayment 3.00 EXECUTION: A. Installation: Comply with flooring manufacturer's recommendations for type(s) of materials, project conditions, and intended use. B. Clean floors and apply leveling compound and substrate primer if required, in accordance with flooring manufacturer's instructions. C. D. Install resilient edge strips at edge of resilient flooring which would otherwise be exposed. E. Clean floors and accessories after installation and apply protective sealer/polish in preparation for the owner applied wax in accordance with flooring manufacturer's instructions. Section 09900 PAINTING 1.00 GENERAL: A. Submittals: Prior to beginning work, Architect will furnish color chips for surfaces to be painted. In addition to manufacturer's data, application instructions, and label analysis for each coating material, submit samples for Architect's review of color and texture only. Resubmit samples if requested until required sheen, color and texture are achieved. B. Delivery and Storage: Deliver materials to job site in new, original, and unopened containers bearing manufacturer's name, trade name, and label analysis. Store where indicated in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. C. Job Conditions: Do not apply paint to damp or wet surfaces. D. Material Preparation: Mix, prepare, and store painting and finishing materials in accordance with manufacturer's directions. 2.00 PRODUCTS: A. Manufacturers (or equal): 1. Glidden Company 2. P.P.G. Ferrous Metal: Two coats, deep-color exterior alkyd resin trim paint over alkyd type primer. Primer is not required on shop primed items. 2. Zinc-coated Metal: Two coats, deep-color exterior alkyd resin trim paint over galvanized metal primer. 3. Aluminum: Two coats, deep-color exterior alkyd resin trim paint over aluminum primer. Interior: 1. Gypsum Drywall: Two coats interior Latex Emulsion over white interior latex-based primer. 2. Stained Woodwork: One coat oil-type interior wood stain. One coat cut shellac. One coat paste wood filler. Two coats oil rubbing varnish. PAINTING 09900/1

3.00 EXECUTION: 3. Ferrous Metal: One coat synthetic quick-drying, rust-inhibiting primer (not required for shop-primed items). One coat interior enamel undercoat. One coat exterior gloss enamel. 4. Zinc-Coated Metal: One coat galvanized metal primer. One coat interior enamel undercoat. One coat exterior gloss enamel. 5. Aluminum: One coat aluminum primer. One coat interior enamel undercoat. One coat exterior gloss alkyd enamel. A. Application: Apply painting and finishing materials in accordance with manufacturer's directions. Use applicators, and techniques best suited for materials and surfaces to which applied. 1. Apply additional coats when undercoats, stains or other conditions show through final paint coat, until paint film is of uniform finish, color and appearance. 2. Paint surfaces behind movable equipment and furniture same as similar exposed surfaces. Paint surfaces behind permanently fixed equipment or furniture with prime coat only before equipment is installed. 3. Omit first coat (primer) on metal surfaces which have been shop primed and touch-up painted, unless otherwise specified. 4. Completed work: Match approved samples for color, texture and coverage.
