CARBIDE TOOLS & DIES MORE THAN 65 YEARS OF EXPERTISE IN CEMENTED CARBIDE AND WEAR RESISTANT PARTS PARTNERS IN HARD PRECISION

MORE THAN 65 YEARS OF EXPERTISE IN CEMENTED CARBIDE AND WEAR RESISTANT PARTS CTD has built a unique expertise in the material tungsten carbide, the technology to machine it and the know-how to use it in wear resistant applications. Our name CTD stands for Carbide Tools and Dies referring to wear resistant tooling and parts that we manufacture and recondition for the most diverse industrial applications. Know-how in tungsten carbide material and precision machining are our core competencies that we use throughout the production and reconditioning of your wear resistant parts. We provide you with a solution for your wear problems so that you can fully concentrate on your core business. Strong partnerships help us to improve the service life of your wear parts in order to increase your productivity and the constant quality of your product. This will help you to increase your competitive advantage. Production techniques used to manufacture carbide parts. CTD has an extensive range of state-of-the-art machines and production technologies to manufacture carbide parts. All our machines and technologies are adapted to the extreme high hardness of tungsten carbide. Our machinery includes: CNC OD cylindrical grinding CNC ID cylindrical grinding Surface grinding EDM Honing Polishing and super finishing Lapping CNC turning and milling for steel tooling Joining techniques to join carbide to steel like brazing, shrink fitting, epoxy adhesive gluing, mechanical fastening HP-HVOF carbide coating technology

Quality comes first, always and in every production step! As a long term partner for the most renowned market leaders world wide we are known to provide the best possible quality. We have three guarantees for top quality: QUALITY, ALWAYS OUR TOP PRIORITY We have a team of experienced and highly competent and motivated engineers and operators. Their eye for detail is decisive. We work with high precision machinery specifically adapted to machining of carbide. Every part that we produce or refurbish is subjected to multiple checks by high precision measuring equipment that can measure in the micrometer range. All our measuring equipment is installed in conditioned rooms and is periodically controled by a calibration lab accredited by BELAC.

CTD manufactures all carbide wear parts to size either based on existing drawings, samples or by reverse engineering. We use our expertise in carbide applications to redesign and transform your steel parts to carbide in order to increase their service life. The range of wear applications where carbide creates an added value is endless. Thanks to our year-long experience in carbide properties and applications we can provide you with the necessary advice for the selection of the correct type of carbide adjusted to your specific application. For which type of process applications do we make carbide parts? WEAR RESISTANT CARBIDE PARTS Cemented carbide consists of exceptionally hard tungsten carbide particles in a ductile metal binder. This hybrid structure gives cemented carbide its unique property of combining extreme high hardness combined with the highest compressive strength and good toughness. Other properties of cemented carbide are high hot hardness and good corrosion resistance. - Cutting of metal, plastic, paper and wood - Hot and cold rolling, bending, extrusion of steel and non-ferrous metals - Crushing, mixing, grinding and pelletizing - Stamping and pressing - Fluid handling and flow control Industries where carbide wear parts are used: By varying the carbide grain size and the metal binder composition and content, cemented carbide can be fine tuned in order to obtain optimized properties like: - Wear resistance - Corrosion resistance - Edge stability - Resistance against galling - Impact resistance - Tool and die industry - Metal packaging industry - Steel industry - Non-ferrous metals industry - Wood working industry - Plastics industry - Oil and gas industry - Pumps and valves - Waste water treatment - Polymer industry - Disposable hygiene industry

CTD manufactures almost all cutting and metal forming tools and dies for beverage can, food can and the aerosol can industry, both for 2-piece and 3-piece cans and for aluminium and steel. The leading metal packaging producers are amongst our customers. End making tooling Scroll dies Peel-off tooling... Impact extrusion punches and dies for aluminium aerospray cans TOOLS AND DIES FOR THE METAL PACKAGING INDUSTRY Extreme precision and knowledge of cemented carbide are absolutely necessary to manufacture the tooling that you need. Metal Packaging Tooling manufactured by CTD: 2-Piece can tooling Cupper tooling Necker tooling Body maker tooling... 3-Piece can tooling Slitter knives Curling rings Spin flanging rollers Scrap knives... Regrind service of can tooling Our precision grinding machines and adapted measuring equipment make it possible to regrind all types of carbide tooling. We guarantee that your tooling will be brought back within the original tolerance. Our know-how in regrinding of can tooling makes it possible for our customers to subcontract this service and by doing so to reduce their overhead costs.

RENOWNED SUPPLIER FOR POLYMER PRODUCERS During the last decades CTD has grown to be a worldwide renowned supplier for the polymer production plants. In LDPE-production plants (low density polyethylene) we supply and refurbish the most critical high pressure parts. The extremely high pressures (up to 3500 bar) and the explosive nature of the compressed gas make all parts and their reconditioning very critical. For other polymer plants that produce LLDPE, HDPE, PP or PS as well as in compounding plants we manufacture pelletizing knives and we recondition pelletizing die plates for underwater pelletizing. A complete overview of our products and services for the LDPE- and polymer production plants High pressure parts and services for LDPE production - Reconditioning of carbide hypercompressor plungers - Mitsubishi carbide hypercompressor plungers - HVOF coated plungers and piston rods - Packing cups, central valves and seal rings - High pressure valves - Carbide lined catalyst pump bodies and carbide plungers Polymer pelletizing - Reconditioning of pelletizing die plates - Manufacturing of pelletizing knives - Repair of rotors for strand pelletizing
