Product Selection Guide Color & Additives - Europe Color & Additives Concentrates for the Wire & Cable Industry

OnColor Color Concentrates for Wire & Cable Europe PolyOne provides 13 product series covering the broadest range of specifications in the cable industry. These are designed for a wide variety of applications, in line with RAL 840HR, IEC 304/BS 6746C and Afnor color requirements. Upon request, PolyOne also develops unique grades to provide custom-made solutions for specific requirements. These include high temperature resistance, aging test resistance, low shrinkage, etc. These 13 series are: OnColor TM color concentrates PVC for major applications PVC for T3 automotive PE 2 for PE, XLPE, PP PE for filled polyolefins: LSFOH*, TPE Heavy metal free RoHS (Directive 2002/95/CE) Diarylide free 1 Halogen free (<100 ppm) Light resistance (DIN 54003 blue wool scale) Short-time delivery 6 5-8 7 6 5-8 7 5-8 7 5-8 7 PE for PE Visico/Ambicat TM System 3 5-8 7 EVA 4 for filled polyolefins: LSFOH*, TPE 5-8 7 EVA for thermoset rubber 5 5-8 7 TPU for transparent TPU TPU for filled TPU PA TPE PVDF PBT 5-8 7 7-8 7-8 5-8 7 7-8 7-8 (1): process temperature above 200 C may lead to pigment degradation and release of carcinogenic 3,3 - dichlorobenzidine (2): no adverse effect or color change when used with cross-linked systems (3): especially designed to prevent interaction with Ambicat catalyst system (4): vinyl acetate content: 28%. This provides optimal flame retardancy (5): no adverse effect or color change with the vulcanization process (6): depending on color: yellow, orange, brown and green contain diarylide but diarylide free also available (7): depending on color light resistance of 7-8 also available (*): low smoke and fume, zero halogen compound (ECCOH ) Ambicat is a trademark of Borealis Heat resistance information is available on each datasheet. It represents the maximum temperature at which the colored compound can be exposed for 5 minutes without color change.

OnCap Additive Concentrates for Wire & Cable Europe PolyOne offers a wide variety of additive concentrates to meet the requirements of the wire and cable industry. OnCap additive concentrates are designed to provide optimal solutions for ease of processing and/or performance of wire and cable products, cost savings and product line management. PolyOne also offers SmartBatch concentrates a color and additive combination in the same material. Examples include: color PE range with UV additives for jacketing coloration; color PE range with Antioxidant & Metal Deactivator for XLPE insulation; and Antioxidant Black PE Smartbatch. Available from stock OnCap Antioxidant: to avoid oxidation, and increase heat stability both during and after processing. Helps reduce polymer degradation during processing, and pass more stringent aging requirements. CC00031068BG 73-FT-50 Phenolic AO PE Power, data & telecom polyolefin cables 1 2 OnCap Metal Deactivator (MD): to prevent polymer degradation catalysed by contact with copper at high temperature. CC00032586BG 7014-FT-50AO AO & MD (2:1) PE Power, data & telecom polyolefin cables 1 2 OnCap UV Stabilizer: to extend finished goods lifetime by reducing polymer degradation from UV radiation. Used to protect against sunlight and photodegradation to best maintain the initial color and mechanical properties. CC00028860BG 8-FT-30 UV absorber PVC PVC cables 1 3 CC00030770BG 104-FT-50 UV absorber PE Polyolefin cables 1 5 OnCap Blowing Agent: to manufacture stable foamed products and improve dielectric properties. CC10074220BG 87-FT-50 Exothermic blowing agent PE Chemical foaming data & telecom cables 2 4 OnCap Flame Retardant: to enhance the flame-retardant properties of polymers. CC00030773BG 138-FT-50 FR with halogen PE Polyolefin cables, XLPE insulation 5 30 OnCap Pest Control: to protect cables from attack by pests. CC10087477BG 87477 NP EVA MB Non-Toxic Rodent Repellent EVA Power, data and telecom cables 2 3 Available upon request: OnCap Processing Aid: to improve processing during extrusion. Reduces die build-up and pressure, thereby increasing line speed and output. OnCap Slip Antiblock: to improve polymer processing and ensure good handling properties. OnCap Antistatic: to provide a dissipative coating to minimize static electricity for safer handling and lower dust collection. OnCap Biocide: to provide anti-microbial, anti-fungi, and anti-algae properties to polymers. FastMark Laser Marking: to increase the contrast when marking with YAG/CO 2 laser.
