Capsule endoscopy for diagnostic purposes in the small intestine In cooperation with OMOM Capsule Endoscopy, ENDO-TECHNIK is now able to offer such an endoscopy system. The technology is well-known in the market and was developed specifically to facilitate small intestine diagnostics. The complete system consists of the capsule itself, the jacket containing the necessary signal receiver, a digital recorder and the corresponding analysis software which can be installed on a computer workstation, a mobile laptop or a centralised server. A particular highlight is the viewer included in the package (wireless up to 3 m away from the patient) which allows realtime monitoring of the capsule function and its position in the intestine. Includes new jacket design It is also possible to activate and deactivate the capsule via the viewer which helps to reduce unnecessary battery wastage (e.g. during passage through the oesophagus and stomach). The jacket enables the sensors to be positioned quickly and easily in the optimum places. No other preparation of the patient is required. Problems such as irritation of the skin from shaving and cleaning during preparation for electrodes do not occur. The analysis software is designed so that even less-experienced users can use it safely and easily. As an alternative, recordings can be analysed externally and results compiled.
