Optional Extras The following items are not an essential part of the RemScan equipment. These items may be purchased to enhance RemScan operation for particular applications: Category Description Image Lab Stand The lab stand is useful if either: Many samples are to be measured in a site hut (as opposed to in the field). This may be because the soil samples are very wet and need air drying in the hut or because conditions are too inhospitable in the field (too hot or too cold) for personnel to work for long periods If the RemScan is going to be recalibrated for many different soil types. There are three models of Lab Stand: Lab Stand - Compressed Air This is the most convenient unit to use in a laboratory environment however it requires a supply of compressed air to operate the sample presentation RAM. Dimensions: H37 x W31 x D31 cm Enclosed Lab Stand - Compressed Air/Manual Pump Can be used in any application and is more compact than the Lab Stand. It has the option of using either compressed air or a manual pump. Dimensions: H28 x W42 x D30 cm Portable Lab Stand - Spring Operated Can be used in any application and is the most portable due to it s small size. The sample presentation RAM is spring loaded, no compressed air or manual pump required. Dimensions: H19.5 x W22 x D23 cm 4
Additional Post Sale Services Category Service Agreement Training (additional) Calibration (additional) Annual Service Agreement Item Ziltek strongly recommends that the customer takes out an annual service contract for each of the RemScans. Ziltek offers several levels of service and these are described in the separate document titled: Z035 - RemScan - Service Agreement Benefits If the customer wishes to train a new lot of personnel in the operation and use of RemScan, Ziltek offers additional training sessions for the customer s personnel. These can either be provided on-site or at Ziltek s facility in Adelaide, South Australia. RemScan is normally supplied with a calibration to suit the main soil type at a particular site. If there are multiple very different soil types at a site or if RemScan is moved to another site, it is necessary to calibrate RemScan for each of the new major soil types. There are several ways in which calibration can be performed and this depends on a number of different factors. 5
