THE POSITION As Volunteer Service Coordinator you will be employed by the funded agency, Cobaw, however you will work with a number of other stakeholder organisations. The role coordinates all aspects of the Central Victorian Volunteer Service, supporting effective recruitment, training, supervision, advocacy and recognition of volunteers across the region. Funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS), the position will: Increase the availability, quantity and quality of volunteering opportunities, particularly to disadvantaged individuals Provide pathways for greater social inclusion and employment Develop consistent processes across the stakeholder organisations to make it easier for volunteers to engage and be engaged with services Achieve greater efficiency in the use of volunteers by stakeholder organisations Build local sustainability by increasing the number and diversity of volunteers Attain higher client and stakeholder satisfaction. The scope of practice is: 1. Target Population: Volunteer involving organisations, prospective volunteers and volunteers within central Victoria 2. Service Delivery Model: As per DSS guidelines 3. Service Location: Central Victoria (Mt Alexander, Macedon Ranges Shire, Heathcote Region) The personal attributes needed to fit this role are: Flexibility Initiative and self-motivation Good persuasive skills Emotional intelligence Understanding and acceptance of diversity 2 THE PERSON The qualifications required for this position are: Tertiary degree in health, welfare, social work, education, youth work or similar discipline Certificate IV in Training and Assessment highly desirable KEY RESPONSIBILITIES These statements of duties/responsibilities/tasks/roles and functions are indicative and need to be understood within the context that Cobaw is in a dynamic environment where change is the norm. Relationship management Support internal and external stakeholders to improve practices, policies and procedures to recruit and work with volunteers Facilitate a Central Victorian Volunteer Service Steering Committee with representatives from key community stakeholders Engage with relevant employment, disability and mental health services to reach the target population and increase the diversity of volunteers Recruit, train and supervise volunteers engaged with the program

Ensure the recognition and celebration of the contribution of volunteers through a variety of means including National Volunteer Week, certificates and awards Improved systems Develop and implement efficiencies with regard to volunteer sharing, standardised regulatory and compliance systems, induction and professional development processes Strengthen the effective promotion of volunteering opportunities respond to and process all volunteer applications, renewals and associated administrative tasks Support stakeholder staff with any volunteering related requests in a timely manner Training and capacity development Identify and implement training opportunities for volunteers to develop skills and support them to successfully participate in the community e.g. financial literacy, leadership, mentoring Develop and deliver volunteer training and ensure volunteers are familiar with relevant policies and procedures including health and safety etc. Reporting and evaluation Actively collect data and client stories to inform the evaluation plan and create measurable outcomes Provide reporting to stakeholders on volunteer development and activity at agreed timelines Participate in internal and external team and individual supervision as scheduled, and seek additional supervision as required Monitor and evaluate program outcomes including collecting and collating quarterly client, volunteer and other stakeholder feedback, -and implementing recommended changes as appropriate to enhance outcomes for all stakeholders Monitor budget to ensure delivery of outcomes KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Applications must include written responses to the following: Demonstrated leadership in adult education, community development and volunteer management Extensive project management and coordination, particularly working across organisations Demonstrated skills in negotiation, promotion and advocacy Demonstrated high level organisational skills including management of program budgets and reporting Highly developed organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and to meet set deadlines Ability to establish and maintain confidentiality when managing issues of a sensitive nature. Quality OTHER REQUIREMENTS Assist in the development and implementation of the organisation s quality improvement strategies In consultation with the Leadership Team develop and implement standards and ensure programs are monitored and evaluated in terms of relevance, timelines, cost effectiveness and client satisfaction 3
