Case Study: KWIZDA Agro, Austria KWIZDA in Leobendorf nearby Vienna is one of the first solar steam projects in Austria with a collector size of 384m². During a summer day the starting time is around 20 minutes only. Means 20 minutes after sun rise the solar steam production is under operation. The starting time in the winter season is max. 1,5 hours and for bad weather condition with temperatures below zero an anti-freeze system is protecting the all CSP components. The collector field efficiency of 29% related to the annual direct normal irradiation generates 125-130 MWh per year. Due to less consumption of the factory on Sundays, the consumed solar steam is between 105 and 110 MWh per years. 108 MWh annual savings

Layout of 312 m 2 CSP field. Case Study: Fish Cane Factory, Croatia The village Sali in south of the island Dugi Otok in Croatia is a perfect location to generate solar steam for energy savings. On the one hand this place enjoys excellent solar irradiation and on the other hand the energy costs are higher because of the island location. The peak steam production is more than 200 kg/h for a CSP-field of 312m².
