CRZ map enclosed as Annexure - I Project comes under ICRZ - III. 50 m from HTL towards sea. Effects of Cyclone & tidal Surge may occur at site as it is near to sea. At the onset of monsoon, the islands are affected but usually not seriously by the cyclonic weather of Bay of Bengal. On an average 2-3 tropical cyclones form every year, of which one or two could be severe. Andaman & Nicobar islands are classified as Moderate Damage Risk Zone A. The basic wind speeds are applicable to 10 meters heights above the mean ground level in an open terrain cyclone seldom parts over the islands, though most of them form in Andaman sea. Area may be prone for saltwater ingress, as site is very close to sea (approx. 200-300 m) Few areca nut trees and other shrubs will be cut during site preparation. However economically important trees will be preserved and or replanted. 1.9 Creation of new land uses? Existing land will be used for construction of 5 star resort (villas) 2
1.10 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore hole, soil testing? Soil samples were collected and analyzed from different locations at site and the results have been found satisfactory. Geotechnical study has also been carried out at the site and found to be satisfactory. Soil Analysis report enclosed as Annexure - II 1.11 Construction works? This project involves construction of a 5 star resort. It is proposed to begin commence operations with 50 keys, 16 public buildings and 18 staff accommodation buildings and raise the inventory to 100 keys in Phase II. 1.12 Demolition works? Temporary shelter and sanitation facilities for construction workers are not required as majority of the labour will be hired from nearby villages. 50 keys (or rooms) will be constructed in Ist phase and rest 50 keys (or rooms) in 2 nd phase of the project. Construction will be done as per local town and country planning and not exceeding height of 9 meters with two floors (Ground and first floor) Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Rain Water Harvesting Tanks will be constructed underground.
