Instructional Manual

1. Parts 1. The vice-blade steering engine can be divided into levels of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% rudder power. The user can select any one of these levels according to their flying experience. The default rudder power is 25% when the power is turned on. The remote control has two types, one with an LED screen and one without. Even without the LED screen, the user can distinguish the rudder power by listening to the indicator beep. 1 beep = 25%, 2 beeps = 50%, 3 beeps = 75%, 4 beeps = 100%.

2. Inserting Batteries Open the battery cover on the back of the remote controller. Insert four AA alkaline batteries in accordance with the instructions on the battery box. (Battery should be purchased separately. Old and new batteries should not be mixed.) 4 3. Charging the Quadcopter s Batteries Insert the included charger into an electrical power source. The indication light will turn green, then connect it to the battery. When the light turns red, the battery has begun to charge. Charging time is about 100 minutes. Get Ready for Take Off 1. Please operate in a spacious indoor area or outside in clear weather. Do not fly in high winds. Fly away from people, animals, and other obstacles. 2. Insert the Li-po battery included into the quadcopter. When the indication light on the quadcopter begins to flash, place the quadcopter on a level surface and wait for the frequency to adjust. 3. Pull the acceleration lever all the way back and turn on the remote control. Push the acceleration lever all the way forward and pull it back again all the way back. There will be a beep and the quadcopter s indication light will turn on. The frequency adjustment is complete and you are ready for take off. 2. 3D mode is the button that puts the quadcopter into 3D roll over mode. The mode has two kinds, indoor mode and outdoor mode. Hold the button for 5 seconds to switch between the two modes. Two beeps means indoor mode and four beeps means outdoor mode. The user can switch between the two modes according to their playing condition. The default mode is the indoor mode, but the controller has a memory function to continue to use the mode it used previously, even if the batteries are removed.

4. Basic Flying and Fine Tuning When the left operating lever is pushed up and pulled down, the quadcopter will ascend and descend. When the left operating lever is pushed left or right, the quadcopter will turn left or right. When the right operating lever is pushed up or down, the quadcopter will go forward or backward. When the right operating lever is pushed left or right, the quadcopter will fly left or right. When the quadcopter is hovering and the head of the quadcopter turns left or right, turn the fine tuning to the left or the right in order to balance the quadcopter. When the quadcopter is hovering and the quadcopter is deviating to the left or the right, turn the side-flying fine tuning to the right or left in order to balance the quadcopter. When the quadcopter is hovering and the quadcopter is deviating forward or backward, turn the forward/backward fine tuning up or down in order to balance the quadcopter. 5. Flips The user can switch between indoor and outdoor mode according to the flight condition. No matter the mode, the remote control s indication light will flash when the 3D mode button is pressed. After ascending the quadcopter to 6 feet, pull the right operating lever to the bottom in any direction and then release it. The quadcopter will then roll over. Repress the 3D mode button in order to exit.

5. Indoor and Outdoor Mode Considering different places and spaces of operation, this quadcopter is designed with two kinds of protection covers which, along with the speed adjustments, will help make the quadcopter fly perfectly in both indoor and outdoor conditions. 1. Indoor Mode: When flying indoors, the narrow spaces and obstacles may make flight more difficult. Users can more easily operate the quadcopter by attaching the big protection cover and a low to mid flight speed. 2. Outdoor Mode: When flying outdoors, the winds and excitement might require a higher power and faster speed. Users can remove the indoor protection cover and fly at a mid to high speed to enjoy a faster and more exciting flight. 1. To prevent the quadcopter from descending into an unsafe area due to insufficient battery power, it is designed with a power warning function. When the battery power is low, the LED light will turn from constant to flashing. The user will then have time to fly the quadcopter back and recharge the battery. 2. When flying outdoors, please make sure the remote control is in outdoor mode in order to guarantee a normal 3D roll over. 6. New Player s Mode This quadcopter was originally designed with a model plane s operation mode. As a result, operating the quadcopter is more difficult than usual. To reduce any learning curves for new players, this quadcopter has been designed with a new and mass-oriented operation mode called New Player s Mode. Keep pressing any key on the upper left or upper right of the remote control and turn on the remote control s power. Release the button and the New Player s Mode is now selected. In New Player s Mode, the functional keys for the remote control are distributed according to the diagram on the following page:

Power Button Left Side Flying Button Right Side Flying Button Left Operating Lever (Accelerator, Side Flying) Light Control Button Take Photo Right Operating Lever (Forward/Backward, Turning) Forward Roll Over Right Side Roll Over Take Photo Rudder Volume Fine Tuning Backward Roll Over Left Side Roll Over 7. Shooting Photos and Video with Optional Camera (F182C webcam kit should be purchased additionally) 1. Insert the SD card into the webcam s card channel, then attach the module to the bottom of the battery box as shown in the picture. Open the upper cover and take out the webcam s plug and insert it into the red video shooting outlet of the circuit board. 2. Press the photo mode button on the remote control and the red light will flash once, meaning the quadcopter is taking a photo. By pressing the video mode button the red light will stay on, meaning the quadcopter is taking a video. Press the button again in order to stop taking video. 3. Slightly press the SD card to take it out. Insert the card into the card reader and insert the reader into a USB outlet in order to view the photos/videos. Tips: 1. Press the video button again to save the video when finished shooting. 2. An AVI form should be compatible to the video playing software. 3. The red light indicator will be flashing quickly when the SD card is not inserted or full.

8. Troubleshooting Problem Reason Solution The indication light of the quadcopter is flashing and the quadcopter does not react to operation. 1. Frequency modulation between the quadcopter and remote control is not operating correctly. 2. Insufficient battery power. 1. Refer to Prepare for Take Off and remodulate the frequency. 2. Recharge the battery. The quadcopter s blades turn but it cannot take off. 1. Insufficient battery power. 2. The blades are distorted. 1. Recharge the battery. 2. Replace the blades. The quadcopter shakes hard. The blades are distorted. Replace the blades. The fine tuning buttons are all on but the quadcopter still can t keep balance. 1. The blades are distorted. 2. The motor doesn t work properly. 1. Replace the blades. 2. Replace the motor. The quadcopter is out of control after having crashed. Three-axis acceleration sensor has lost its balance after crashing. Put the quadcopter on the ground for 5-10 seconds. The quadcopter can t take off vertically in normal conditions. The quadcopter is not adjusted to the level. Put the quadcopter on the leveled are or desk. Keep pulling both the left and the right operating levers to the bottom left until the indication light on the quadcopter flashes. Release the two levers and the indication light will turn to constantly on. 9. Optional Accessories 1 indoor shell 2 outdoor shell 3 Clockwise Blades (serial number A) 4 Reversal Blades (serial number B) 5 Counter-clockwise Motor (Red Blue line) (Black White line) (F182C) 6 Reversal Motor 7 Battery 8 Receiver Board 9 Battery Charger 10 Webcam Kit
