Ponding is not detrimental to the performance of the membrane, but it is not recommended. It is a lightweight panel (9-15kg/m 2 ) which can span up to 6.2m (with a single span of 5.3m). This allows quick installation of up to 1000m 2 per day. 1
Finishes The panel is offered with different types of top finish as defined below. The different top (external) facings create a wide range of opportunities for application of different types of roofing waterproof membranes. The finishes are available with a singleply roofing system, mechanical mounted (screws) or chemically attached (glued). TR20 - glass fibre membrane These are panels finished on the top side with a bitumen-impregnated glass fibre layer, which is designed to be compatible with torched-on, separately-fitted bitumen systems. It therefore is suitable as a base layer, on its topside for the on-site fitting of various types of torch-on post-fit membrane. Single-Ply Membrane. This is a fully factory-finished insulated panel, equipped with a top weather surface of bonded singleply membrane. The panel is factory-finished with proprietary membranes and includes side laps for easy installation. This product does not require any further site application of weathering membrane. The factoryapplied, single-ply membrane is ready for hot air or chemical welding at side and end laps, following the installation of the panels. When the membrane end laps and side laps are site sealed, the system is then weather-proof. The external weathering membrane on this products can be made available in a number of options. However the primary, preferred options are PVC (PolyVinylChloride), TPO (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) and TPE (ThermoPlastic Elastomers). TR27 glass fibre tissue These panels are finished on the top side with a glass fibre tissue facing. This facing allows the on-site fitting of a number of non-bonded, weathering membranes. Typically these membranes can be mechanicallyfixed, loose-laid or loose-laid, ballasted, membrane systems. This glass fibre tissue membranes is not suitable for on-site membrane bonding. Insulation Core The core of the KS1000 X-Dek is an ECOsafe polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid closed cell insulation core. Kingspan s Insurer Approved PIR insulated panels do not contain any Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS). Insulation cores are free from CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons), HCFCs (Hydrochlorofluorocarbons) and HFAs (hydrofluoroalkans). This results in all Kingspan s roof and wall solutions having no global warming potential. The auto adhesive properties of the core bond the external & internal sheets together. Fire Steel inner and outer facings have a Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS476 Part 7:1987 and are class 0 as defined by building regulations. The panel surfaces are rated FAA/SAA to BS476: Part 3:1975. Environmental This ECOsafe system contributes credits to the BREEAM Pollution 4 as per the BRE Global The Green Guide to Specification, Green Guide ratings. Air Leakage An air leakage rate of < 5m³/hr/m 2 at 50Pa can be achieved. Biological Kingspan panels are normally immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin. No urea formaldehyde is used in the construction, and the panels are not considered deleterious Materials External weather sheet (single-ply membranes) 1.5mm thick high performance single ply reinforced membrane. Membrane operating temperature range is -40 to +70 C. Internal Profile Deck Sheet Substrate can be mm, mm & 1.0mm thick hot-dipped zinc coated steel to BS EN 10147: 1992. The panels are also being manufactured under Environmental Management System Certification BS EN ISO 14001. Compliant to BS OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety. Guarantee The 1.5mm and 1.2mm membranes have a 10 year minimum guarantee. For the 0.6mm to 1mm membrane please contact Kingspan Technical team. All guarantees are subject to specific terms and conditions. Packing KS1000 XD insulated roof panels are stacked weather-sheet to weather-sheet. The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with foam and timber packing and the entire pack in wrapped in plastic. This packaging needs to be accounted for when calculating the number of panels per container. Kingspan exports its range of insulated panels and systems worldwide and the standard method of shipment is by standard shipping containers. The standard shipping container preferred by Kingspan is the closed top 12 metre units. All our shipping information and guidelines are based on this container size. For more information on packing and shipping, please speak to your local sales office. Delivery Off-loading is the responsibility of the client. The actual wind suction load resisted by the panel is dependent on the number of fasteners used and the purlin thickness as well as the fastener material. 4. The fastener calculation should be carried out in accordance with the appropriate standards. For further advice please contact Kingspan Technical Services. 5. The allowable steelwork tolerance between bearing planes of adjacent supports is +/- 5mm. 6. Load span tables for the panel specifications not shown are available from Kingspan Technical Services. 7. FM approved panels spans must be limited to a maximum of 2 metres in single/double/multi-span condition. 5
