Background WHO WE ARE The World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation is an international, not-for-profit business-to-business membership association. Our global community is the world s most powerful and extensive network of organisations involved with the youth, student and educational travel industry, consisting of more than 600 members from 120 countries. WYSE Travel Confederation was founded in 2006 through the merger of the Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations (FIYTO) and the International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC) in order to create a stronger united body to represent the global youth travel industry. WYSE Travel Confederation is therefore built on decades of experience and recognised as a long-standing and trusted global community. Believing as we do that youth travel is a vehicle for international exchange, peace and understanding, WYSE is an Affiliate Member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and holds consultative status with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). David Chapman, Director General We have a unique position at the heart of the industry connecting businesses to network and trade, delivering both business and consumer research and education, and helping to support destinations as they look to innovate and tailor their offers to Generation Z. We believe in the power of youth and student travel to positively impact lives, relationships and communities. Young people can enhance our global community by fostering greater international understanding and cultural empathy. They can champion responsible international travel, cultural exchange and education. We are committed to understanding the ever-changing characteristics, motivations and needs of young travellers and disseminating our market intelligence with member businesses, tourism authorities, academics and government decisionmakers.

B2B association: supporting the youth travel industry PROMOTING THE INDUSTRY: RAISING AWARENESS The youth and student travel industry can at times be undervalued or overlooked when set alongside tourism as a whole. WYSE Travel Confederation monitors and promotes the fact that the youth market makes up more than 23% of international arrivals each year. We raise awareness that in 2014, 261 million young traveller s generated a substantial USD 285 billion towards global tourism receipts. We do this, because we are dedicated to developing and delivering opportunities for our members, as the authority on youth, student and educational travel. Our members benefit when we position and advocate youth and student travel as a catalyst for economic growth for destinations, and for encouraging governments to develop strategies for increasing youth mobility and cultural awareness.

A networked membership community OUR MEMBERSHIP: A CONNECTED, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND POWERFUL COMMUNITY Our membership community comprises over 600 organisations across the globe, either providing, purchasing or supporting youth travel products and services. We bring talented people together to share best practice, to look ahead and to innovate, to network and trade - face2face and via online platforms. We bring new and developed supplier businesses to the attention of key international buyers. This benefits the youth travel industry as a whole. Our members steer the development of the industry that they work within, translating in to new and innovative travel products, services and experiences for young people.
