Go to the website link that s in your Welcome Email Make sure you re using Internet Explorer (the icon is an e ) 2. Install Page Your page should look like this: Now Click on Which One You Want Page 3 of 46

Run SAIT TDC Now Remember, you will have to go to this page Every time you want to do your course. Please Note: Every time that you run TDC, it will connect to the server to see if the version on your desktop is the same version as on the server. If there is a difference in the versions, TDC will deliver the appropriate files; otherwise, it will start TDC and you will be able to log in. Here are some pop-ups that you will see: First: Then: Once everything is done, this will come up: Log in using the information provided in your Welcome Email Page 4 of 46

Install SAIT TDC Now Your page should look like this: Option 1: 1. If Install shows up in either place (Green Arrows) Click one of them This window may pop up: Select I understand the risk and then Click OK (Green Arrow) Page 5 of 46

2. After a brief period you will see the Preparing Setup dialog box. Wait for this to complete. 3. Now you will get the Install Wizard, Click Next (Green Arrow) Page 6 of 46

4. SAIT TDC will configure your software installation. Wait for this to complete. 5. The installation in complete when you see the dialog box below. Click Finish (Green Arrow) Page 7 of 46

6. After the installation process; Go to your Start Menu 7. Go to Programs or All Programs 8. You should see something similar to this in your list: Click on the SAIT TDC that has a picture of a tree. 9. The login page will pop up: Login using the information provided in your Welcome Email Page 8 of 46

Option 2: If it says Please Wait (Green Arrow) Follow these steps: 1. Click the Zip File Link (Red Arrow) 2. You should get a pop up similar to this: 3. Select Save (Green Arrow) Page 9 of 46

4. Something like this should pop up (Asking where you want to save) 5. Choose your Desktop (Red Arrow) or somewhere you will Remember. Click Save (Green Arrow). Now it will start installing. 6. Once done, your pop up will look like this: Select Open Folder or Open (Green Arrow) Page 10 of 46

My Job Summary Revised Displays previously completed tasks that have been revised/updated About to Elapse Displays previously completed duration tasks that are about to expire Attempted Displays tasks in which knowledge assessments (quizzes) have been attempted, but unsuccessfully completed (failed) Elapsed Displays any duration tasks that have expired since completion High Priority Displays any tasks that have been defined as High Priority Saved Assessments Partially completed knowledge assessments (quizzes) that have been saved can be accessed here Clicking this link will provide you with a list and description of all of the icons in TDC Page 14 of 46

Accessing your Personal Information 1. You can find your personal information under the Account tab (Green Arrow) Need to change your password? Click here 2. Click account information This window will pop up: Your Employee ID Your Student ID # Your Expiry Date Page 17 of 46

Accessing Your Course 1. Click the Blue Circle in the Top Left Hand Corner of the SAIT TDC window. OR Click on My Job in the top left corner 2. Using the LEFT HAND SIDE of your screen, here is what you should see: Page 18 of 46

1. Click the Plus Sign (Red Arrow Above) until you get a list of Modules. Here is an example of what you should see: Viewing Your Learning Material NOTE: Power Engineering Students go to Page 46 for different information 1. Click on the Plus Sign beside the module title (Indicated by Green Arrow) 2. Now it should Drop Down. You should see the same title. Page 19 of 46

3. Click Once on the one that dropped down (Red Arrow) 4. The right side of your screen should change to your learning material. EXTRA INFO: If you click Mark as Complete (Red Arrow Above), the Icon will change to Mark as Incomplete Page 20 of 46

The resources icon in your My Job window (Left Hand side of the screen) will change from White to Black to Now you can remember where you left off in your reading! Adding a Bookmark You can add a bookmark and save your exact place in your reading material 1. When you feel you are done reading for the moment; click the Bookmark tab at the top of the screen 2. This will pop up: Click add Page 21 of 46

3. You will see this window You can call the bookmark what ever you like (Red Arrow) Click Ok (Green Arrow) Accessing your Bookmark 1. Click the same Bookmark tab that you clicked to add your bookmark 2. Hoover over the bookmark link; your saved bookmark will pop up Click on the saved bookmark and you will be taken back to where you left off in your reading. Page 22 of 46

Accessing your SAIT Assignment (Also Called Knowledge Assessment in TDC) 1. Click on the Module Title Itself The First time you see the module title. Look at Which Line is Highlighted If you clicked the right place, your screen will look like this on the Right Hand Side Page 23 of 46

2. Click the Take Knowledge Assessment icon (Piece of paper with a pencil on it) (Red Arrow Above) 3. This will pop up: 4. Click on Final (Red Arrow) to open your assignment. There currently are no practice assignments available. You have TWO attempts to get at least 50% on the assignments Completing Your SAIT Assignment 1. When you re done your assignment. Click on Submit (Red Arrow) that s on the bottom of your question box: 2. If you re ready to have your assignment corrected. Click Yes (Red Arrow) Page 24 of 46

3. Your Corrected Assignment (Or Assessment Summary) will pop up. 4. You will know the assignment is complete when the module title icon turns from White to Black in the My Job window (Left hand side of screen) to 5. If you fail an assignment twice, you will have to email/phone your Client Services Support (Found on your dashboard page) to re-set the assignment for you. Saving your Assignment You have 4 options in this section Option 1: Save Unfinished Assignment for Later 1. After your assignment starts you may decide to do it later. Page 25 of 46

2. Click on Save Assessment at the bottom of the window (Red Arrow) 3. A pop up will come up stating how long your assignment is saved It will tell you the date and time is will be saved until, approx. 7 days. If you save an assessment it must be done within the allotted time or it will be marked as is. Saving an assessment will save the questions as well as your answers, but you will be able to change your answers if need be. You can only save the assessment ONCE. If you open it again you MUST complete it. 4. To go back and complete the assignment: 1. On your Main TDC Dashboard Page, you will see Saved Assessments (Red Arrow) under the My Job Summary Double Click on the quiz you want to complete. Page 26 of 46

Option 2: Print Your Assignment 1. Click Print (Red Arrow) after your assignment has been corrected. Page 27 of 46

Option 3: Save Your Completed Assignment 1. Open a Microsoft Word Document and go back to your Assessment Summary 2. Take your mouse to the top corner of the question box (Where Assessment Summary starts) Page 28 of 46

3. Click and Hold down the Left button on the Mouse and drag it to the bottom. You will noticed everything is getting highlighted 4. Now hold down the CTRL button AND the C button on your keyboard 5. Go to your Word Document i. You can either Right Click (on your mouse) and select Paste OR Click the Picture Paste OR hold down the CTRL button AND the letter V button on your keyboard 6. Save Option 4: View Assignment in TDC After You Have Submitted it 1. Remember where you went to access your Knowledge Assessment? Go there Page 29 of 46

2. Click on the View Task History icon (Red Arrow) 3. This will come up: 3. On the Left Hand side, Click on the second item listed (Green Arrow) So the View button will highlight (Red Arrow) Page 30 of 46

Accessing your Final Exam Once your application to write your exam is received, it will take up to 10 business days for processing. An email will be sent to your Presiding Examiner with the password for the exam. At that time you can review the rules and information. 1. You access your final exam the same way you access your knowledge assessments. 2. Click the Take Knowledge Assessment icon (Red Arrow Above) 3. This will pop up: Click on Final (Red Arrow) to open your final exam Page 31 of 46

4. This is where your presiding examiner will enter the password they were given by your client service support person. 5. Click Ok A message will appear with information about the time limit of your exam 6. Click Begin. Your final exam will start, once complete Click Submit Page 32 of 46

Accessing your Schedule You have a Scheduler to keep track of items you need to complete. This is something you will have to view and monitor yourself. You or your Supervisor (If you have one) can add to this at anytime. 1. The top toolbar of TDC, you will see the schedule icon. Click on it 2. This will pop up. Click add activity (Red Arrow) Page 33 of 46

3. The activities window is where you can choose which module you want to add. You can set start and end dates as well as the priority level (Green Arrows) Click where the Red Arrow is pointing This window will pop up: Select which module you want to add and click ok Page 34 of 46

Accessing your Report You have the ability to run a report on you learning. You can reuse this report at any time. You can also rename this report to whatever you want it to be named. You will have a maximum of 12 reports to run, once you have hit your limit you will need to start deleting so you have room to run more reports. 1. There are TWO places you can find your report manager i. On your Dashboard page, you will see at the top of the screen a Reports tab (Red Arrow) Page 35 of 46

ii. On your My Job page, you will see at the bottom of the page Reports (Red Arrow) Page 36 of 46

2. Click the Report tab in either place. This window will pop up: Click New Report Template (Red Arrow) 3. This window will come up: Click Ok Page 37 of 46

4. Always keep the parameters showing YES Select Next on the bottom right Page 38 of 46

5. Select whichever format you want to see the report in (SAIT TDC Report, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PDF, etc.) use the drop down button to choose (Green Arrow) Once decided, select Ok to complete template (Red Arrow) Page 39 of 46

6. Once the template has been created you need to Generate the report. Make sure you are clicked on the report you want to generate (Right hand side of the screen) You can find the Generate tab at the top of the screen (Red Arrow) You can Title your report; add a subtitle and/or a description You don not need to do this if you choose not Once complete, click Generate (Red Arrow) Page 40 of 46

7. To view your report after it has been generated; Click View (Red Arrow) 8. As you can see in the Self Lifetime Completions Report, ADMN 6007 shows twice. The first one gives a date and a mark. Since we offer this module in more than one of our courses, it will show up for each course. If you have taken this module in ELS for example and then take a PET course it will show that you have already completed this module so that you do not have to retake. It is called auto complete. Here s what may have happened: - Answer may be wrong - Part of Question missing (for example a picture) - Content within a module is inaccurate You can send us feedback, here is how: 1. Go to where you would go to take a Knowledge Assessment or View Task History. 2. This time you will click on the Send Feedback icon (Red Arrow) 3. When you get the list of people, select your Client Services Support (so the check box is marked). 4. The info we would need to know: a. Which question or place in which module you are talking about b. Brief explanation of the problem Page 42 of 46

General Distance Learning Information Numbers to Know: Client Services Support: om.training@sait.ca Tutor: 1-800-661-1268 or energy.tutor@sait.ca The Office of the Registrar: 1-877-284-7248 Your Registration Confirmation has your Start and End dates for your course. Your Assignments and Exam/s MUST be done Before the stated end date. You must complete assignments and a final exam. Once all assignments are complete, Call or Email your Client Services Support. They will send you a form to fill out. For Power Engineering Students: 4 th Class has TWO Exams. Withdrawal Information You must contact The Office of the Registrar BEFORE 25% of your course time has passed to get a refund minus the $50 administration fee. Anytime after that will result in no refund. Course Extension You can purchase an Extension through The Office of the Registrar. The cost is $150 (price for the 2012/2013 school year and is subject to change on a yearly basis) and MUST be purchased At Least 2 Business Days before your course Expires. The length of your extension will depend on the course you are taking Page 43 of 46

Exam Information You can write on the Main SAIT Campus: a. Email/Call your Client Services Support At Least one week before your planned exam date. Our testing centre is open from Monday Saturday. Ask your Client Service Support for the hours. Power Engineering exams cannot be held on campus on Saturdays. You can write Off Campus: a. You need to find a Presiding Examiner (someone to watch over you) i. This person can be your boss/supervisor, teacher/professor, another testing centre at a college or university, principal/vice principal, reverend etc. If you have someone else in mind, ask your Client Services Support if they are acceptable. b. Once your application is received, it will take up to 10 business days for processing c. An email will be sent to your Presiding Examiner with the password for the exam - this is your indication that you can access to your exam. At that time you can review the rules and information about your exam. The pass mark on an exam is 50%. You have one chance to re-write at a $75 charge. Restrictions Apply. 2 nd fail results in re-registration. For Power Engineering, you are able to make use of the following materials: o A non-technical English language dictionary o Handbook of Formulae and Physical Constants, Steam Tables and Refrigeration Tables and Mollier Chart o ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes except for Sections VI and VII o The 2007 ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Academic Extract and Supplement o ASME B31.1 Pressure Piping Code and B31.3 Process Piping Code o CSA B51, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code o CSA B52, Mechanical Refrigeration Code o Safety Codes Act and Regulations o Pens and pencils o A scientific non-programmable calculator o Drawing instruments and drawing templates Page 44 of 46

How to Find your Final Grade 1. Go to Mysait.ca 2. You will need the following information to log in: Username: Student ID Number Starting with the Zeros Don t know your Student ID Number? See Below. Password: Your Birthdate DDMMYY, Two digits for each 3. Click Login 4. Once you re in, you will see these tabs: 5. Click on My Student 6. Click on Student Records (Located under the heading of Academic Records & Schedules) 7. Click on Final Grades 8. Select the term then hit Submit Page 45 of 46

Power Engineering Students Remember: Your Textbooks are considered the learning materials. After reading the Previous, here is how your Left Hand side Menu is DIFFERENT. SAIT Assignment 1. Click the Title to get a SAIT Assignment (same as mentioned before) Click on the Chapter Title You will have no resources PanGlobal s Supplement Site Self Tests (Practice Quizzes) / Videos If you bought textbooks with your course, you would have received a login for PanGlobal s Site Mypower-net.com. You will have to email the user ID and password to your administration contact at SAIT in order to get set up on the site. This log in information is on a Bright Piece of Paper called Notice to Reader OR inside the front cover of your Textbook. If you had your own set before you won t have access. You can purchase access for a fee directly though PanGlobal s Site. Ebook Files (Electronic Textbooks) If you bought textbooks with your course, you are able to get Ebook access (through PanGlobal s Practice site). This is your textbooks electronically, just in case you don t want to carry them around all of the time! Please email the following information to your Client Services Support if you want access to Ebook files: - Username & Password that came with your textbooks - Your Full Name - SAIT Student ID (if you can) - City you currently reside in Page 46 of 46
