JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Location: Reports To: Workforce Manager (0.6fte) Leeds (with regular travel to London) Workforce Team Leader Date Prepared: May 2014 PURPOSE To support the workforce through the provision of a comprehensive operational Human Resources service, ensuring the design and delivery of good practice HR solutions in accordance with corporate policies and employment legislation. NATURE & SCOPE Working as a member of the HR Team, the job holder will provide a responsive and proactive HR service to the business and employees on matters of HR policy, procedure and good practice. The post-holder will provide advice and direction to managers across the organisation and will lead on the development and implementation of new and existing HR policies in line with employment law. The post-holder will lead on specific areas of work as agreed within the team to develop the delivery of core and strategic areas of work. The post-holder provides line management to the Payroll & Pensions Administrator and the HR & Recruitment Administrator. The HR service covers c 220 staff based across the UK and the post-holder is required to work across all levels of the organisation. The role is Leeds based although the post-holder is required to travel within the UK on occasion.

STRUCTURE CHART Workforce Team Leader (1.0 wte) Internal Comms Manager Workforce Manager (0.6 wte) Senior Workforce Officer (1.0 wte) Payroll and Pensions Officer (0.5 wte) HR Administrator (0.5 wte) ACCOUNTABILITIES Oversees the delivery of a responsive and effective recruitment and selection service ensuring the organisation recruits a high quality workforce. Works closely with the Senior Workforce Officer to ensure a consistent approach to advice provided to managers and employees. Leads on complex or high risk employment matters when appropriate. Leads on the development and implementation of new and existing HR policies and guidance notes Manages the Payroll & Pensions Administrator and the HR & Recruitment Administrator and leads on all areas of HR administration ensuring that records are accurate and up to date. Carries out regular reviews of administrative procedures to ensure they are efficient and effective.
Account manages the relationship with ADP and leads on the development of HR.net in order to ensure accurate employee data and management information across the business. Supports the development and delivery of Organisational Development (OD) including the Line Manager Development Programme. Participates in the development of HR and corporate projects ensuring that up to date HR and OD knowledge is utilised in order to maintain high standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The post-holder must have demonstrable experience in a generalist HR role ideally with relevant experience in the areas of employee relations and training and development. The jobholder has to have the ability to work independently and unsupervised liaising with Directors/Managers/Staff and must have the ability to understand and interpret complex situations which will require guidance and advice being given to others. The post holder needs to be visible to the organisation and spend time working closely with the teams and be able to influence and challenge at a senior level. Good working knowledge across a range of operational HR, employee relations and organisational development practices. Excellent networking and communication/interpersonal skills gained through HR experience. Experience of managing a team. Experience of undertaking a range of tasks requiring a high degree of discretion and sensitivity. Analytical mind and ability to make sound judgements. Experience of managing time limited projects. Experience of working on corporate teams and leading areas of project work.
