It also allows Mongoose users to extend those applications and have their changes automatically upgraded It took four days to implement Infor ION in our production environment with only two people. Infor ION implemented quickly it saved a lot of in-house programming and a lot of work. Within a day of setting up ION alerts we identified emergencies on a bad blower in the treatment plant. Without this advanced warning we could have lost up to a day s production. Luke Rains System Development Director, Preferred Sands Infor ION Computer science and information technology majors will have the opportunity to understand how integrating cloud, mobile, and traditional on-premise technologies can help businesses drive efficiency and process optimization. Students will learn how to build ION integrations, and help define product requirements, customer adoption strategy, and customer-driven features and functionality. They ll have the chance to see how businesses run their IT systems to support critical operations and learn how to implement end-to-end business processes within an enterprise using emerging technologies. Enabling business process integration Students identify a business process (employee onboarding, for example) and the supporting systems that enable it. They then create ION connectors to link and manage disparate systems, allowing those systems to communicate seamlessly, effectively turning the previously siloed data into actionable insight and intelligence. Included in the design would be rules-based exception detection, as well as workflow architecture to increase process and user efficiency. Project deliverables would include a report that demonstrates new insights/information gleaned by connecting disparate data and delivering a new end-to-end process. Infor Ming.le Business majors would learn how to innovate and modernize traditional business processes through the integration of social and mobile computing technologies, preparing a business for the new world of work. Building a social collaboration strategy for the enterprise Students identify and analyze an organization or industry that currently relies primarily on email for communication to develop strategies and recommendations that support implementing Infor Ming.le s social collaboration platform within the organization.. Analysis would include best practices for implementing and using the technology; development of customized use cases; and change management strategies, if required. Deliverables would include a report and/or presentation outlining analysis, resultant strategy, organization/industry use cases, projected impact of adoption, and final recommendation and/or business case for the technology. Infor Mongoose Computer science majors can learn how to quickly design, build, and deploy applications, as well as learn how to use relational databases for web portal and mobile-oriented applications. Students will deepen their understanding of the various aspects of application design and development, as well as have opportunities to work on the framework code itself. Creating an application (new or extension of existing) Students would identify an area or need of the institution, an industry, or the local business community, then research and analyze customer requirements, behaviors, and general market data, to determine if an application could address and resolve the area or need effectively. They would then conduct research to determine if such an application currently exists within the Infor product catalogue or elsewhere, and either re-design the existing application or design and build an entirely new application using the Infor technology stack. Project deliverables could include a report on their market-based analysis and recommendation, the problem being addressed, and recommended solution, as well as a demo of the final application. Elevate the classroom experience Professors can build a curriculum around real-world experience with next-generation technology that incorporates social, mobile, and cloud to transform the way people work. Drive innovation in the real world Students play a key role in helping to shape the next generation of enterprise software using leadingedge technologies.
