System Information SYSTEM STRUCTURE Priming Sika Pour on Floor Primer, Sika Primer-11 W or Sika Primer-21 W is recommended for a none porous surface with very good adhesion. On wood floor substrates use the Sika Pour on Floor Primer or Sika Primer- 11 W undiluted. Levelling Apply to the surface and trowel rake the required thickness (3-15mm). Sika Level-315 F is particularly suitable for levelling surfaces ready for the subsequent application of most conventional floor finishes including Sika Ceram tiling adhesion mortars range. 2/7
APPLICATION DETAILS CONSUMPTION / DOSAGE ~ 1.55 ± 0.05kg/m²/mm This figure is theoretical and does not include for any additional material required due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level or wastage etc. SUBSTRATE QUALITY Concrete substrates must be sound and of sufficient compressive strength (min. 25 N/mm²) with a minimum pull off strength of 1.5 N/mm². Wood substrates must have a residual moisture content in the range of 5-12% (parts by volume). All substrate surfaces must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants including. dirt, oils, grease, coatings and surface treatments etc. If in doubt apply a test area first. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION / PRIMING Concrete substrates must be prepared mechanically using abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying equipment to remove cement laitance and achieve an open textured surface. Weak concrete must be removed and surface defects such as blow holes and voids must be fully exposed. All dust and any other loose or friable materials must be completely removed from all surfaces preferably by brush and/or vacuum before application of the product. For optimum results use the one part acrylic primer as above Primer substrate using Pour on Floor Primer- 21W & 11WS to ensure sealing of the substrate and prevent the appearance of bubbles on the Sika Level-315 F underlayment surface and increase the bond to the substrate. APPLICATION CONDITIONS / LIMITATIONS SUBSTRATE TEMPERATURE +8 C min. / +30 C max. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE +8 C min. / +30 C max. Note: When using water based adhesives on the finished product the best results will be achieved at ambient and substrate temperatures between 15 C and 25 C. SUBSTRATE MOISTURE CONTENT The substrate can be in a SSD (saturated surface dry) condition, but there must be no rising moisture prior to the surface dampening operation. Check in accordance with ASTM D 4263 (the Polyethylene-sheet test). RELATIVE AIR HUMIDITY < 75% max. DEW POINT Beware of condensation! The substrate and uncured product applied on the floor, must be at least 3 C above dew point to reduce the risk of condensation, blooming or cement laitance forming on the surface. 3/7
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS MIXING When mixing manually place 6.25-6.5 liters of cool, clean water in a suitable sized mixed vessel. Add a full bag (25kg) of Sika Level-315 F powder slowly to the water, mixing continuously. After mixing thoroughly leave the material to stand in the container for two or three minutes until the majority of air bubbles have dispersed. MIXING TIME Mix thoroughly for a minimum of 3 minutes. MIXING TOOLS Use an electric stirrer (< 500 rpm). Pump: Use a conventional floor screed dual stage mixer and pump. Control the water dosage to achieve the required flow, measuring the final average flow diameter on a flat, clean, dry flow table. Cylinder according to EN 12706:315 F0 Internal diameter: 30mm Height: 50mm Flow = (6.25 litre per 25kg) After pouring / pumping onto the surface, level by trowel or pin screed rake to the required thickness. CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically. POT LIFE Conditions +23 C / 50% r.h. xxx mm ± x mm Time 25 minutes The temperature will affect the pot life. Application at temperatures above +23 C will reduce the pot life and the working time. Temperatures below +23 C will increase the pot life and extend the working time. WAITING TIME / OVERCOATING Suitable for overcoating with impermeable (ie ceramics) or moisture sensitive floors (ie wood) after drying (to a max. 3% moisture content); which is normally reached after approximately 24 hours according to conditions. Suitable for overcoating with tiles after 4-6 hours. ASTM C 230-90 / EN 1015-3 Top internal diam: 70mm Bottom internal diam.: 100mm Height: 60mm Flow = 350mm ± 10mm (6.25 litre per 25kg) Suitable for wood floor bonding when used at 3mm thickness after 24 hours. These times are approximate at +23 C and 50% r.h. The actual times will be affected by changing substrate and ambient conditions, particularly the temperature and relative humidity, plus the thickness of the material applied. When overcoating Sika Level-315 F always ensure the moisture content has achieved the required value for the subsequent floor finish adhesive / product being used, as the necessary waiting time will vary (with the application thickness and ambient humidity). Also please refer to the floor finish / adhesive. 4/7
NOTES ON APPLICATION / LIMITATIONS Very absorbent substrates must first be saturated with water or adequately primed to prevent the loss of the products mixing water into the substrate, which could then cause problems to occur such as shrinkage, the appearance of surface pores or a weak and dusty surface etc. Do not mix with other cements or cement based screeds. Because of the porous fibre content a rougher surface is obtained than with other products from the Sika Level range. There must be no loading of the finished product for at least 3 hours.(at +20 C). Freshly applied Sika Level-315 F must be protected from damp, condensation and water for at least 24 hours. Do not exceed the recommended water dosage. Do not add more water when the product is starting to set. Do not exceed the recommended thicknesses, 15mm.( or 30mm with stated sand addition). Do not use for external or industrial applications. Temperatures below +20 C extend the drying times. Sika Level-315 F does not provide an aesthetic finish; this product must always be overcoated. Do not use Sika Level-315 F in areas where it can be exposed to moisture, such as below ground floors without an effective damp proof membrane, or externally in any area. Not suitable for slopes or inclines > 0.5%. Protect from direct sunlight, hot or strong winds and extremes of temperature to avoid cracking or crazing. When overcoating additional mechanical preparation may be required to remove any cement laitance if this has been formed during the application and finishing process. The thickness of the levelling mortar has to be > 3mm when using waterbased adhesives under impermeable and vapour tight floor finishes. For adhesives other than SikaCeram or Sikabond a test-application is recommended prior to use. At thicknesses greater than 3mm or with floating screeds, an edge strip must be placed to separate the screed from the walls and other construction elements. CURING DETAILS VALUE BASE APPLIED PRODUCT READY FOR USE At +20 C and 50% r.h. Foot traffic Lightly serviceable Fully serviceable ~ 3 hours ~ 24 hours ~ 7 days Note: Times are approximate and will be affected by changing substrate and ambient conditions, particularly the temperature and relative humidity. All technical data stated in this are based on laboratory tests. Actual measured data may vary due to circumstances beyond our control. 5/7
