I. SAND PLANT a. Eirich Sand Mixer: Return sand, New Sand, Coal Dust, Bentonite are Preweighed to correct quantity using load cell arrangement. Eirich Sand Mixer b.water pannel Water addision is controlled through a water pannel to add correct / required quantity of water. Water Pannel c. Control Pannel The whole sand plant operation is controlled using PLC control pannel PLC Control Pannel and Load Cell Pannel d. Sand Handling Vibrating Shack out, OBMS, Elevators ploygonal Screen, magnetic Drums, Batch and Storage hoopers and conveyors are control by PLC.
II. MOULDING a. Machine Moulding : SMFA 450 size simultaneous jolt squeeze moulding machine one pair with dual pin centre (595 and 780 mm), which gives rigid mould to maintain surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Mould Handling Bi-rail arrangement with electric hoists to handle moulding box / moulds and closing Pallet cars, track line, transfer trolleys in use for smooth movement of closed moulds. c. Hand Moulding 5 Ton E.O.T crane is in use to handle pattern, moulding box, moulds, metal pouring etc. III. CORE SHOP Co2 process with gas burner, oven baking, oil sand and air set oil process are in use. Work benches, Core racks with necessary hand tools are used to make proper cores. Core Storage Racks
IV. PATTERN SHOP No of pattern makers with modern facilities to make woodern, metal and araldite patterns are available in and arround coimbatore. Hence new patterns are outsourced. Pattern repair, methoding etc are crried out inhouse. 1000 x1000 mm Surface table, 0-1000 mm digital vernier guage, Shrinkage vernier and othermeasuring instruments available for dimensional inspection of patterns, finished castings. Furnace Melting department is equiped with medium frequency induction furnace of following specification. Rated K.W Frequency Crucible capacity Make : 500 K.W : 500 Hz : 1000 kg & 500 Kg : Fluxotherm India Ltd. Metal Tapping Metal Pouring 500 kg treatment laddle, 250 kg "T" spout pouring shanks and 1 ton laddle are in use. Metal is tapped from furnace using 1 ton or 500 kg laddle as the case may be and distributed to 250 kg pouring shanks. Using monorail system with laddle handler the metal is poured in the moulds which are in the track lines. Metal Pouring & Temperature Checking
VI. FINISHING DEPARTMENT a. Shot Blasting 500 kg capacity close loop, spin hook hanger type, cabin operated shot blasting machine. Pedasal grinders, Swing grinder, Disc Wheel AG 7 angle grinders (Electrical) and Mounted point grindrs are for final finishing. Dimensional inspection with report is made ready by inspection in pattern shop. Shot Blast Machine VII. QUALITY DEPARTMENT a. Moulding Sand Control Full fledged sand testing lab to control clay bonded moulding sand. To name a few USM (GCS,GSS), Permeability meter, clay washer, Moisture tester etc. Sand Testing Equipments b. Chemical Anlaysis Carbon Sulphur apparatus and table tab Spectromaxx Spectrometer are used to analyse the chemistry. Spectro Meter c. Mechanical Testing 40 ton UTM and BHN machine to test tensile and surface hardness. UTM & Brinell Hardness Tester
d. Mould & Core hardness Mould hardness tester, to test the mould hardness and scratch hardness to check core strength. Mould Hardness Core Hardness e. Liquid metal C.E Meter for Carbon & Silicon and immersion pyrometer to control the pouring temperature. Green Belt - 120 Pysonia trees are planted arround perephery. - Bag filter dust collection system for shot blasting machine. - Fume extraction system along with solar evaporation pan provided for induction furnace. - 1m x 1m / 2m depth rain water recharge pit 6 no's provided for rain water harvesting.
