CAUTION! : The work of assemble, set-up, use and dismantling scaffolding should be under the supervision of an individual with proper experience, training and aptitude (competent person). PROPER SET-UP * When stacking scaffold frames, always use connector pins and secure frames to connector pins with locking pins. * Do not use unstable objects such as boxes, bricks, concrete blocks, etc. under scaffold legs. Place on firm level surface with a secure footing. Do not use on slippery surfaces. Do not place on boxes or unstable bases. * Maximum top platform height, as measured from the rolling surface, must not exceed four (4) times the smallest base dimension (CA/OSHA and some government agencies require a stricter ratio of 3:1). When height exceeds 4 times the smallest base dimension or when hoisting materials scaffold must restrained from tipping by installing outriggers, tying, guying or other acceptable means. * When units are stacked, outriggers must be used. Use narrow 18" minimum outriggers when stacking two high. Use wide 48" minimum outriggers when stacking three high. * Be certain work platform is fully seated within channel before use. * Pin stems and set locks on all castors before climbing or using scaffolding. Be certain all locks attaching side braces to end frames are fully engaged before accessing platform. * Use only appropriate duty-rated ladders when using planks or platforms with ladder jacks 2

SCAFFOLDING PROPER USE FOLLOW ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL CODES, ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO SCAFFOLDING. Before use, check all parts for proper function and damage to components parts. Do not use a damaged or improperly functioning platform or components. A platform exposed to excessive heat, as in the case of fire, should be immediately removed from service and destroyed due to loss of structural strength. Do not permit oil, grease, or slippery material to accumulate on climbing or gripping surfaces. Do not use this product if the decking surface is damaged or has deteriorated. Periodically coat wood decking with wood preservative. Do not paint. Do not use this product for cantilever applications. Never stand on any portion of the product that extends beyond the supporting point. The total combined weight of each user and all materials should not exceed the rated working load. Do not overload. Erect the platform so that the working or standing surface is level. Use guardrails, mid-rails and toe boards as required by federal, state and local regulations. Their use is recommended in all cases. Never stand or sit on guardrails when installed. Do not allow unstable object such as barrels, boxes, loose brick, tools and debris to accumulate on the work surface. Do not use a ladder or other device on a platform to gain greater heights. Do not ride on a moving platform. Tools, materials and equipment should not be stored on platforms that are being moved. When moving scaffold, apply force as close to the base as practicable and make sure surface is free of obstructions and openings. Do not apply impact loads to a platform. Never attempt to straighten a deformed side rail or decking member. Do not use acids or other corrosive substances on platform without consulting the platform manufacturer for specific instructions. Do not move scaffold from on top or exert horizontal force on top of a freestanding scaffold. Do not swing around corner of end frame and enter platform from the side: Always climb up and over top of end frame to access platform. Do not use scaffold if you tire easily, or are subject to fainting spells or are using medicine, alcohol or are physically impaired. To protect children, do not leave scaffold set up and unattended. WARNING!: RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY. PROPER USE OF SIDE BRACES MUST BE OBSERVED TO PREVENT PERSONAL INJURY. Both side braces must be positioned at the same height on the frames so that the platform is level. Be sure all 4 L-shaped pins and 4 locking pins are in the locked position and fully engaged through the holes of end frames before use. Step 2 (SEE FIGURE 2) Install platform (C) into side braces (B) 1) Rotate platform clips (6) to the disengaged position. 2) Install platform into side braces so that the platform is fully seated within the inner channels (7) on top of both side braces. 3) Rotate platform clips (6) to the engaged position. Step 3 (SEE FIGURE 3) Install locking casters (D) into end frames (A). 1) Insert caster stem (7) into end frame legs until fully seated. 2) Insert lock pins (E) through holes in end frame legs and caster stems (7). Engage lock pin retainer to secure. 3) Set brake on each caster to the lock position. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Step 1 (SEE FIGURE 1) Attach side braces (B) to two end frames (A) by following this sequence: 1) Pull L-shaped pin (1) at each end of side brace to the disengaged position. 2) While holding the L-shaped pin (1) in the disengaged position, place the U-channel (2) on each end of side brace around leg of end frame (3) at the desired platform height. 3) Release L-shaped pin (1) to secure the side brace. Make sure the L-shaped pin fully engages into the hole in the end frames legs. 4) Repeat assembly procedure for the other side brace, making sure both side braces are at the same height. 5) Insert lock pins (E) through slot (4) at bottom of U-channel (2) and hole in end frame legs. Engage lock pin retainer (5) to secure. Face side frame when climbing up or down; keep body centered between side rails. Maintain a firm grip. Use both hands in climbing. Do not overreach; move scaffold when needed. Do not "walk" or "jog" scaffold when standing on it. Do not stand, climb, or sit on guardrails, brackets, outriggers, or other surface higher than the platform. SCAFFOLDING PROPER DISMANTLING Check to see if scaffold has been structurally altered in any way that would make it unsafe and if so, reconstruct where necessary before commencing with dismantling procedures. Dismantle scaffold from the top down. Begin by removing all accessories from that section being dismantled at that time. On stacked scaffold, do not remove ties, braces or outriggers until dismantling has reached the section to which they are attached. Always work within the inside of the scaffolding. When moving up or down the scaffold, do not climb on ties, braces, outriggers or embraced components. Climb over the top of the frame. Do not swing around the side of the frame. Be sure the area below is clear of individuals not involved in the dismantling and is secured against unauthorized access. Lower scaffold components in a safe manner as they are dismantled. Do not drop or throw components as this could result in injury to individuals below or damage to equipment. Use energy absorbing lanyards and full body harness when feasible. SCAFFOLDING PROPER STORAGE Store scaffold in a safe and dry place. Properly secure and support scaffold while in transit. Never store materials on scaffold. 4

SCAFFOLDING SAFETY RULES WARNING! SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH HAZARD. Improper erection or use of scaffold equipment can cause serious injury or death. Erectors and users must be familiar with and follow safe practice and the Safety Rules contained herein. These Safety Rules cover generalized situations only and should not be used to replace any other additional safety and precautionary measures that may be necessary to cover the many usual or unusual conditions encountered during installation or dismantling. The Rules are not intended to conflict with, or supersede the requirements of any government regulations, codes or ordinances; the user must refer to and comply with all such specific provisions of the law. A. Follow safe practice of the safety rules and comply with federal, state and local regulations, codes and ordinances pertaining to scaffold during any use of equipment. B. The potentially hazardous nature of scaffolding erection work makes it important that all individuals doing and supervising this work have knowledge of these Safety Rules, safe practices and procedures. Assure that these Safety Rules are posted and that all persons erecting and using the scaffolding are aware of and follow them. C. Unsafe conditions. DO NOT use or allow others to use scaffolds when sick or suffering from dizziness, unsteadiness or other physical symptoms which could affect their ability to use this scaffolding safely. D. Inspect all equipment before using. Never use any equipment which is damaged, defective or deteriorated in any way. E. Inspect erected scaffolding frequently and be sure scaffolds are properly maintained. Ensure scaffolding connections have not become loosened and that components have not been improperly released or removed. F. Maintain equipment in good repair. Never use corroded or excessively rusted equipment; the strength of such equipment is not known. G. Consult your scaffolding supplier when in doubt. Never take chances. H. Always read these safety rules in conjunction with the safety packet. I. Always support scaffold from a sound, stable surface and assure surface is adequate to support the intended scaffold loads. Never support scaffold on unstable, loose objects which could tip, break or become dislodged. J. Lift and lower scaffold components carefully and safely; use tag lines when appropriate to the handling method. Never allow excessive quantities of components to be stockpiled on partially complete scaffolds. Stock only sufficient components consistent with the progress of the work. Lower dismantled components as soon as possible. Never deliberately drop components. K. Tying of the scaffold to the structure is of great importance to the stability and safety of the scaffold. Assure that the structure to which the scaffold is tied or anchored is capable of safely supporting all loads imposed by the scaffold. L. Free standing scaffolds other than wall scaffolds must be restrained from tipping by guying or other means or otherwise stabilized as appropriate, recognizing that stability is essential to the safety of the scaffold. M. Install guardrails, mid-rails, and toe boards at all openings, open sides and ends of every work platform when recommended or required. N. Never use ladders or make shift devices on top of scaffold to increase the height. Never place a plank on or stand on guardrails and mid-rails. O. Power lines near scaffolds are dangerous. Use extreme caution and consult the power service company to have the lines de-energized, insulated or otherwise rendered safe. Never allow any installation or use of scaffolds until this is done. P. When any cantilevers are used, such as brackets, proper care and precautions must be taken to prevent tipping of the scaffold. Q. Do Not overload scaffolds. Refer to and do not exceed the load capacities. ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR ROLLING SCAFFOLDS Follow these additional safety rules for rolling scaffolds: A. Never ride rolling scaffolds. B. Remove all materials and equipment from the scaffold before moving. C. Lock caster brakes at all times the scaffold is not being moved. D. Do not attempt to move rolling scaffolds without sufficient help and roll on level surfaces only. Watch out for holes or floor obstructions and for lines, energized craneways, and other hazards. E. The maximum platform height for a rolling scaffold must not exceed four (4) times the narrowest dimension. Check federal, state, and local regulations for other height/base limitations such as 3:1 for OSHA and in CA, OH, OR, MT and ME; 3.5:1 in WA. Comply with these regulations by appropriately widening and/or lengthening the scaffold at the lower levels so that the above proportions are not exceeded. If the base dimensions cannot be increased, extreme care must be taken to secure the scaffold from tipping; it must be guyed, or tied to a solid structure and maintained in a stabilized condition at all times so that it cannot tip over while supporting persons, while being moved or while being erected or dismantled. F. Apply pulling or pushing forces at the bottom frames and as close to the scaffold base as possible. Never attempt to move the scaffold from on top. G. If rolling scaffolds are used outdoors, care must be taken to assure that they cannot become unstable due to wind or other conditions. H. Do Not Overload Scaffolds. Refer to and do not exceed the load capacities. 5 6
