Purtop System Deck SPRAY-APPLIED HYBRID POLYUREA OR PURE POLYUREA-BASED WATERPROOFING SYSTEM FOR TRAFFICKED ROOFS AND BRIDGES AND VIADUCT DECKS PRODUCTS USED FOR THE SYSTEM: Purtop 400 M - Purtop 1000 - Primer SN - Mapefloor I 910 - Triblock P - Mapecoat I 600 W - Primer M - Quartz 0.5 - Purtop Primer Black - Quartz 1.2 - Primer P3 - Mapecoat TC DESCRIPTION AND AREAS OF USE PURTOP SYSTEM DECK is a waterproofing system based on PURTOP 400 M two-component, solvent-free, hybrid polyurea membrane and PURTOP 1000 two-component, solvent-free, pure polyurea membrane. Due to its excellent tear strength, exceptional elasticity and chemical resistance, it is extremely versatile and suitable for numerous types of trafficked roofs, as well as trafficked surfaces typically found in a wide range of infrastructures. PURTOP 400 M SYSTEM DECK has CE marking as a waterproofing system for bridge joists in compliance ETAG 033 European guidelines. MAPEI has created a letter and number coding system, based on the type of and type of finish, to identify the various types of structure that can be waterproofed with PURTOP SYSTEM DECK. For any applications not included in this data sheet, please contact the MAPEI Technical Services Department to find the most appropriate technical solution. PURTOP SYSTEM DECK is divided into the following subsystems: 1. CONCRETE 2. METAL SUBSTRATES in combination with various finishes: A. INDUSTRIAL FLOORING B. SELF-LOCKING BLOCKS C. ASPHALT D. COLOURED FINISHING SUITABLE FOR VEHICLES (For example, PURTOP SYSTEM DECK 1B stands for a waterproofing system on a concrete, (1), with a self-locking block finish, (B). Purtop System Deck PERFORMANCE AND ADVANTAGES Due to the ability of PURTOP 400 M and PURTOP 1000 to adhere to various types of existing trafficked roofs and decks, it may be used to repair the waterproofing layer on many types of. Rapid installation due to the immediate waterproofing and set to receive foot traffic of PURTOP membranes. Due to the high mechanical strength and high static and crack-bridging capacity of PURTOP 400 M and PURTOP 1000, the system may be applied on any type of structure. PURTOP 400 M and PURTOP 1000 are applied in thin layers (at least 2 mm), so no additional loading for the waterproofing system: the only load, therefore, is due to the type of finish used. PURTOP membranes have excellent resistance to high temperatures, so asphalt may be poured directly on to it. PURTOP membranes are suitable to be used underneath the ballast of railway tracks, in compliance with SNCF Réseau dynamic puncturing testing method. SUBSTRATE 1. CONCRETE Check the to make sure it is suitable for applying the waterproofing system. Prepare the surface with a sanding machine or by shot-blasting to remove all traces of oil, grease, dirt and any other material which could compromise the adhesion of the waterproofing system. Remove all dust and any loose parts from the to leave a dry, porous, slightly rough surface with no contaminants. Repair any hollows, or cavities and form the slope or camber required using a suitable product from the MAPEGROUT range. Alternatively, when the curing time for cementitious mortar is too long, it is possible to use epoxy mortar made with MAPEFLOOR I 910 binder. After preparing the surface as described above, apply a layer of PRIMER SN, two-component fillerized epoxy primer and then dust the surface with QUARTZ 0.5. If the level of residual humidity in the is higher than 4%, and it is not possible to wait until it drops to a lower value, apply one or two coats of TRIBLOCK P threecomponent, epoxy-cementitious primer with a trowel or roller, depending on the condition of the. When the primer has cured sufficiently (3-7 days), apply a coat of epoxy primer (such as PRIMER SN or MAPECOAT I 600 W); contact MAPEI Technical Services Department for further advice. 2. METAL SUBSTRATES Check the state of the and dry sand-blast the surface to grade SA 2½ according to Swedish Standards or prepare the surface using an alternative method, such as with a scrubbing-action or percussion-action cleaning machine. After treating the metallic surfaces, apply a coat of PRIMER EP RUSTOP two-component, epoxy primer with a brush, roller or airless spray. If there are structural joints in the, they must be treated and waterproofed first. For further information, we recommend contacting the MAPEI Technical Services Department. MEMBRANES PURTOP 400 M and PURTOP 1000 Apply PURTOP membranes at a temperature of between +5 C and +40 C. Before applying a PURTOP membranes, remove all traces of dust from the surface with an industrial vacuum cleaner. The temperature of the must be at least 3 C higher than the dewpoint temperature and the level of relative humidity must be no higher than 4%. To apply a PURTOP 400 M or PURTOP 1000 membrane, use a high-pressure, bi-mixer pump with flow and temperature control, fitted with a self-cleaning spray gun. For further information on application temperatures and pressures refer to the Application Data Table. Apply PURTOP membranes in a continuous layer over all the horizontal surfaces and upstands. If application of PURTOP 400 M or PURTOP 1000 is interrupted and then taken up again after the maximum covering time (2 hours), apply a coat of PRIMER M and form an overlap at least 30 cm wide. FINISHING A INDUSTRIAL FLOORING (See Picture). B SELF-LOCKING BLOCKS (See Picture). C ASPHALT When the membrane is dry, make sure the surface is clean and use a roller or airless spray gun to apply PURTOP PRIMER BLACK onecomponent, solvent-based primer specifically formulated to promote the adhesion of asphalt on surfaces waterproofed with membranes from the PURTOP range. While the primer is still fresh, dust the surface with QUARTZ 1.2 to further improve adhesion of the asphalt. Before applying the asphalt, spread on a hot bonding layer made generally from bitumen modified (at least 1 kg/m²). D COLOURED FINISHING SUITABLE FOR VEHICLES When the membrane PURTOP 1000 is dry and clean, apply PRIMER P3, two-component polyurethane primer in solvent and by respecting the covering time, apply two coats of MAPECOAT TC, twocomponent, aliphatic, wear-resistant polyurethane coloured coating. The first coat of MAPECOAT TC has to be sanded with QUARTZ 0.5 while still wet. NOTES For further information on the products which make up the system, please refer to the relative Technical Data Sheet for each product. Recommendations regarding safe use and handling of the products are contained in the Safety Data Sheet for each single material in the cycle. If the system is applied on different surfaces to those mentioned above, or in climatic conditions and/or for final uses not mentioned in the Technical Data Sheet for the system, please contact the MAPEI Technical Services Department. YIELD The consumption figures indicated above are for a cycle applied at a temperature between +15 C and +25 C on a surface treated as indicated in this Technical Data Sheet. Rougher surfaces and lower temperatures lead to higher consumption rates. The consumption of PRIMER SN in particular may vary, depending on the type and depth of preparation carried out on the.
