Graduate Training Programme OUR SERVICES

Introduction Pegasus Group was established in 2003 and has grown to become a leading consultancy operating from ten offices throughout the UK. Our areas of expertise are bigger than ever before offering multidisciplinary services across Planning, Design, Environment and Economics within the development sector. The employees who work for us are the real strength of Pegasus, we have some of the best people in their area of expertise, putting a great deal of effort and enthusiasm towards building on our success. We employ high calibre graduates who have/been predicted a 2:1 or higher on an accredited planning or relevant degree and who can contribute to our continued success. Our graduates will have a real passion for the built environment and a commitment to building a career in the industry. Planning is all about what can be built where and the influence of social, environmental and economic considerations on physical space. RTPI planners have particular skills in spatial planning processes and techniques to influence place making and decisions over whether a development should gain planning permission. They therefore work on spatial issues including socio-environmental matters and urban design, providing specialist knowledge to clients. Training Programme Graduate Planner We offer a training programme designed to nurture and support outstanding graduates, helping you move from education to professional success. The Graduate Training Programme comprises a package of different elements, each of which is designed to assist your development. o o o Attending internal and external CPD events Internal lunch and learn sessions Participation in networking and CPD events As a Graduate Planner, you will benefit from exposure to a wide variety of exciting, innovative and sometimes challenging projects which may include (depending on the project work of each individual Pegasus Office): Major housing schemes Large infrastructure projects Individual schemes such as self-build Housing land supply Retail Commercial & leisure scheme Renewable energy projects Working with your assigned mentor, you will develop a wide range of skills and experience as you see projects through from inception to completion. As a second year graduate you also have the opportunity to give something back by becoming a mentor to a new graduate on the scheme and become involved in the active promotion of future graduate programmes. Not only does this enhance your professional network but it also allows you to impart your knowledge onto new recruits, nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship. RTPI Pegasus recognises its commitment to ongoing training and professional accreditation and supports RTPI membership as a single professional route to chartered planning status (MRTPI), requiring a range of core and other competencies in spatial planning and planning processes. The RTPI Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) route involves working through professional development with a mentor, a log book and a written report. We encourage all our Graduate Planners to participate join/participate in the RTPI Young Planners network. We will also give you financial assistance and time off to attend external seminars and your professional subscriptions and registration fees for the RTPI are fully covered.
