CARLSON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT INVITES APPLICATIONS AND INQUIRIES FOR THE POSITION OF CHIEF WEALTH ADVISOR The Chief Wealth Advisor position is a new leadership role created as our firm has grown to serve nearly 1,000 clients and manage more than $2 billion in assets. [ The Chief Wealth Advisor Position ] The purpose of this role is to provide strategic, tactical and operational oversight for CCM s integrated wealth management experience. The Chief Wealth Advisor (CWA) is responsible for direct oversight of the firm s client relationship and business development initiatives, and for talent management of the advisory team. The CWA role includes developing, managing and executing annual and forecasting budgets, directly supporting the long-term success of advisory team colleagues, and serving as a member of the firm s management team. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES n Collaborates on the development, and owns communication and oversight of strategic plans as well as tactical execution of integrated wealth advisory activities. This includes and may not be limited to client relationship management, new business development, and the coordination and deployment of related functional areas in support of integrated wealth management initiatives and activities. n Active and engaged participant in the development of, and, as approved, execution of assigned elements of CCM s overall strategic plan. n Serves as the integrated wealth planning and advisory team representative of the management team. n Responsible for directly serving a group of client relationships on all aspects of integrated wealth and portfolio management. This includes implementing and coordinating the wealth management experience through investment management, retirement modeling, insurance analysis, educational, estate and philanthropic planning and other general financial planning, as well as deploying firm specialists and other colleagues in providing integrated services. This involves the annual generation of a specific level of billable assets and new client relationships. n Sources, deploys, directs, and is responsible for the performance of all integrated wealth management colleagues. This includes the optimization and effectiveness of organizational structures. n Manages the day-to-day performance of advisory and planning activities, roles, functions, processes and outcomes including and not limited to client care, talent management, reporting and communication. n Develops an annual and a long-term business development strategy, is responsible for execution of those strategies, and oversees communication and execution of annual business development priorities. This includes providing direction and support to advisory team members related to business development activities and goals; responsibility for monitoring and reporting on data related to business development activities and growth of the client base; understanding and deploying data to inform future activities; executing strategies to grow and cultivate referrals; prospect management and center of influence strategies.

n In collaboration with the Director of Human Capital, defines and executes a talent management strategy for the advisory and planning functions. This may include and is not limited to defining roles and expectations, establishing annual performance goals, establishing a recruiting strategy, defining training and development requirements, and employing a total rewards strategy that ensures colleague engagement, high colleague retention and performance alignment. n In coordination with the Director of Financial Planning, optimizes work flow effectiveness with all related systems and colleagues directly supporting the advisory function. n As a member of the firm s management team, develops, presents and, when approved, executes on the elements of the operating plan relevant to the wealth management function. Regularly audits expenses to ensure the greatest impact for the resources deployed in all wealth management activities. n Serves as a member of the firm s Risk Management Committee and is responsible for the wealth management function s contributions to the annual compliance assessment. n Actively participates on industry and community boards and associations in alignment with the strategic plan. Regularly monitors industry trends and best-in-class approaches to caring for clients, developing new relationships, and engaging top talent. Guides, supports and encourages active community engagement for all wealth planning colleagues. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS n Bachelor s degree required. n CFP designation is preferred. n A demonstrated ability to foster and maintain deep, long-term, respectful and productive relationships with clients and colleagues. n A minimum of ten years of experience in financial services and managing client relationships, preferably within an RIA environment. n Proven experience in successfully managing the performance and engagement of client-facing, wealth management teams. n Experience working with diverse segments of clients, in addition to having experience engaging in professional associations. n Proven track record in identifying, reaching and working with high-net-worth clients and niches. n Fluency, comfort and expertise in a range of the life stages and experiences within CCM s core client profiles. n Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. n Strong demonstrable technical capabilities in all areas of an integrated planning platform preferred, including proven experience with client relationship management (CRM) software and MS Office solutions as well as related functional software programs.
