Where the demand curve hits the price axis (Q = 0), the demand curve is perfectly elastic, so the marginal revenue equals price: MR = p. Where the demand elasticity is unitary, ε = 1, marginal revenue is zero: MR = p[1 + 1/( 1)] = 0. A given quantity can correspond to more than one monopoly-optimal price.
