Certificate Version: 2014.4 July 24, 2014 Declaration of Compliance Trade name Tambrite and Tambrite HS (hereafter referred to as folding boxboards) Product description Folding boxboard Tambrite grammage Ranges between 200 g/m 2 to 335 g/m 2 For more information see technical specification. Fiber source Virgin fiber Bleaching All used pulps are elementary chlorine free (ECF-pulps) Production site Tambrite and Tambrite HS are manufactured at Stora Enso Renewable Packaging, Ingerois Mill Producer Stora Enso Ingerois Oy, Ingerois Board Mill Instructions for safe and appropriate use These folding boxboards are intended for packaging food and may stand in direct contact with both dry and non-fatty foodstuffs as well as moist and fatty foodstuffs at a temperature of -30 +50 C for an unspecified period with following limitations Limitations: BfR Recommendation XXXVI, Paper and board, 2013, Germany: The folding boxboards are suitable as packaging material for direct contact with dry and non-fatty foods as well as fatty foods. Applications involving moist, acidic and alkaline foods is allowed, provided that only the back surface is in direct contact with foods. When packing aqueous and fatty foodstuffs we recommend a functional barrier between the food and the board for technical reasons although a direct contact is allowed. When converting these folding boxboards each part of the converting chain is responsible for the suitability for the intended end-use. The information given in this certificate is based upon written confirmation from our chemical suppliers as well as analysis performed on representative board samples. Compliance with European food contact legislation For the purpose to achieve high chemical and microbiological purity only virgin fibers and food contact approved chemical additives are used as raw material in the production of folding boxboards. The pulp and paper manufacturing process conforms to established technology involving the use of generally recognized chemicals. All chemical additives used as raw materials in the manufacturing of the folding boxboards are mentioned where applicable in the following regulations. Information below is based upon the written confirmation of our chemical suppliers and analysis on the board performed by an independent research laboratory. The folding boxboards comply where applicable and under foreseeable conditions of use with; Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food Foodstuffs, Consumer Goods and Animal Feed Code (LFGB) 30 and 31, 2013, Germany BfR Recommendation XXXVI, Paper and board, 2013, Germany with limitations mentioned earlier in Instructions for safe and appropriate use Compliance with US food contact legislation The folding boxboards comply where applicable and under foreseeable conditions of use with; FDA regulations, 21 CFR, parts 170-189, 2013, USA All chemical additives used as raw materials in the manufacturing of the folding boxboards comply where applicable and under foreseeable conditions of use with; FDA, Title 21, 176.170: Components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods. (2013) FDA, Title 21, 176.180: Components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry foods. (2013) The information is based on the written confirmation of our suppliers. Industry Guideline The Industry Guideline for the Compliance of Paper and Board Materials and Articles for food contact provides harmonised approach for self-regulation of paper and board. Stora Enso as a company support and operate according to the Industry Guideline. More information on the guideline can be found on the following web site; http://www.cepi.org/mediacentre/publications 2(6)

Analyses Compliance with BfR Recommendation XXXVI The folding boxboards comply with the requirements in BfR Recommendation XXXVI, Paper and Board as follows. Analyses have been performed on representative samples of board. Heavy metals: Cadmium (Cd) Mercury (Hg) Lead (Pb) < 0.5 mg/kg < 0.3 mg/kg < 3 mg/kg Formaldehyde: Analysis has been performed according to SS-EN 1541. The amount of formaldehyde is < 1 mg/dm 2. Pentachlorophenol (PCP): Analysis has been performed according to EN ISO 15320. The amount of PCP is < 0.15 mg/kg. Hemmhof test: Analysis has been performed according to EN 1104. There is no transfer of antimicrobial constituents. We do not add surface biocides on top of the folding boxboard. Chromium Chromium (Cr) Chromium-VI < 2 mg/kg not detectable Dioxin in folding boxboard The dioxin content analysed in representative samples of folding boxboards is less than 1 ppt WHO-TEQ. PCB Analyses have been performed on representative board samples for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) according to EN ISO 15318. The content of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) in folding boxboards is below the detection limit of the analytical method. Substances Intentionally added shall mean deliberately utilized in the formulation of a material or component where its continued presence is desired in the final product to provide a specific characteristics, appearance or quality. Please note that we do not analyze the folding boxboards for the substances listed below. Information below is based upon information given by our chemical suppliers. GMO We hereby confirm that Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) as defined by European Union* are not intentionally added in the production of folding boxboards. Our suppliers can however not exclude adventitious and technically unavoidable contamination**. * http://ec.europa.eu/food/food/biotechnology/index_en.htm ** Regulation 1830/2003 on traceability and labeling of GMO; The adventitious or technically unavoidable presence of GM-crops in conventional crops may occur as a result of seed production, cultivation, harvest, transport and processing. As long as the level of such 3(6)

contamination remains below the current 0.9 % legislative limit, food ingredients can be considered as not being produced from GM raw materials. BSE We hereby confirm that no substances causing Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies, TSEs including Bovine spongiform encephalopathy, BSE and Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease, JCD is intentionally added in the production of folding boxboards. Phthalates We hereby confirm that no phthalates are intentionally added in the production of folding boxboards. Additional legislation and regulations, not food related Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive The folding boxboards comply with the Packaging and Packaging Waste directive 94/62/EC as amended. The sum of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium in the folding boxboards are less than 100 ppm (EN 13428). The level of substances hazardous* to the environment in the folding boxboards are less than 0.1 %(EN 13428). * Requirements for classification of substances or preparations dangerous to the environment and assigned the symbol N according to Directive 67/548/EC (Directive on Dangerous Substances) and its amendments or Directive 99/45/EC (Directive on Dangerous Preparations) and its amendments, and according to corresponding classification in the new Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP). The folding boxboards are suitable for recovery by ; Material recycling (EN 13430) Energy recovery (EN 13431) Note: A material being recoverable by a certain method does not guarantee that the finished packaging can be recovered using this method.
