Introduction Contents Introduction Alumasc A Range Superior Modular Rooflights Alumasc B Range Standard Modular Rooflights 6 Modular 000 Ultra Interlocking Glazing 8 Modular 000 Express Interlocking Glazing 9 Continuous Barrel Vault Rooflight 0 Skylight Glazing Systems Ventilation Modular Rooflights Product Selector and Range Summary 5 Natural daylight significantly improves the internal environment of a building and can reduce energy costs. To function effectively, buildings must have appropriate, adequate lighting, subject to the guidance and limitations set out in the current Building Regulations (Part L - England and Wales, Regulation Part J - Scotland). Rooflights are the ideal way to provide good natural lighting. Natural Daylight Improves concentration Leads to better productivity Creates better quality environments for people

Modular Rooflights and Made to Order the Illuminating Choice Made to Order Modular 000 is an interlocking glazing system, available in two design options. Modular 000 Ultra is an extra robust system, while Modular 000 Express is designed for rapid installation. Modular Rooflights Modular rooflights from Alumasc are specially designed to meet the growing demands of the flat roofing market. Offering a complete range of options, they are the ideal choice for providing natural daylight into a diversity of commercial, industrial and domestic buildings. Key Benefits The unique kerb design of Alumasc Modular Rooflights incorporates security and waterproofing features that create a reliable, safe and secure rooflight Continuous Barrel Vault Rooflights practical architectural glazing that can be linked in many configurations. The kerb has been designed to allow horizontal termination of the waterproof membrane, making water penetration virtually impossible All glazing in the range is moulded from Marlon FSX Longlife, premium quality solid polycarbonate, offering an impact resistance up to 00 times that of glass Alumasc A Range and B Range rooflights feature a unique lock-bolt security system. This ensures a secure and fast installation A Range superior domed rooflights provide a high level of security with a smooth, clean appearance. The hidden lock-bolt security system reduces the risk of a break-in through the rooflight. B Range regular domed rooflights offer the same lock-bolt security system as A Range, allowing an accurate and fast installation. The security caps encase each of the rooflight fixings. Skylight Glazing Systems extremely versatile and varied, including gable ended, hip ended and pyramid options, as well as attractive lantern lights.

Modular Rooflights Alumasc A Range Alumasc A Range Superior Modular Rooflights Alumasc A Range are superior modular dome rooflights providing high levels of security and waterproofing. The lock-bolt security system means installation of the rooflight is straightforward, precise and secure. Removal of the glazing can only be achieved with the use of a lock-bolt security opening device. Key Benefits Maximum security dome rooflight Smooth clean appearance Lock-bolt security system Complete waterproof integrity with the roofing membrane High performance insulated kerb New kerb for fast efficient installation Unique to the flat roofing market, the Alumasc kerb is designed to allow roof coverings to be terminated horizontally at the upper edge of the kerb wall. This practice improves the weathering detail of the rooflight. Rigid PVC-U frame Lock-bolt security system Horizontal membrane termination 5mm high kerb Thermal Properties U value (Triple skin glazing).0 W/m K U value (Double skin glazing).0 W/m K U value (Cellular PVC Kerb).7 W/m K Light Transmission (mm single skin) Clear 90% - Direct light Bronze % - Direct light Opal 5% - Diffused light Textured 7% - Diffused light Impact Resistance Up to 00 times greater than glass Fragility Fully fixed rooflights, when tested by the methods described in ACR[M]00: 000 and pren87, are classified as non-fragile Options Glazing Single, double or triple skin polycarbonate Kerb Cellular PVC, cellular dome The aluminium reinforced rigid PVC-U frame gives a clean and smooth finish, greatly enhancing the aesthetics of the rooflight. The PVC-U frame also conceals all the fixings of the unit, acting as a deterrent to the opportunistic intruder. Alumasc A Range will not compromise the waterproofing of the roof because the kerb has been designed to allow the roof covering to terminate horizontally on the upper edge of the kerb wall. The waterproofing membrane is clamped into place by the lock-bolt security system once the glazing is attached to the kerb. The attractive design of Alumasc A Range rooflights integrates well with any flat roof membrane system. The white internal finish of the kerb means the rooflight blends with any interior décor. Alumasc A Range rooflights are available in a curved dome or pyramid profile and in a wide range of sizes. A full range of ventilation options is also available. Alumasc A Range is particularly suited to applications such as schools, hospitals, sports and leisure centres, offices and other buildings where security is of particular concern. Modular Rooflights Alumasc A Range Tall kerb simplifies installation A kerb height of 5mm allows the designer to determine the most appropriate way of fixing the rooflight to the roof structure. Kerb options Where a non-standard roof opening exists, kerb adaptors can be specified to provide an exact fit into the prepared builder s upstand. Insulation The combination of a cellular PVC kerb with matching standard glazing guarantees optimum insulation. 8 7 5 6 Designed for security High security is achieved through the unique lock-bolt security system fixing the glazing to the base. This security-lock mechanism can only be opened using a lock-bolt opening device. Curved dome Pyramid dome 5 Simple fixing The lock-bolt security system facilitates fast efficient installation. A series of latches, on the underside of the glazing unit, lock into the kerb, instantly giving a secure watertight fit. 6 Horizontal membrane termination The roofing membrane, when brought over the top edge of the kerb, is secured by the lock-bolt security system, making water ingress virtually impossible. 7 Superb impact resistance The polycarbonate glazing has an impact resistance almost 00 times that of glass, creating a very safe rooflight option. It has co-extruded UV protection and eliminates 98% of harmful radiation. 8 Smooth appearance The PVC-U frame with aluminium reinforcement conceals all fixings creating a smooth, clean appearance.

Modular Rooflights Alumasc B Range Alumasc B Range Standard Modular Rooflights Alumasc B Range are regular modular dome rooflights distinguished by their speed and accuracy of installation on flat roofs. The lock-bolt security system means less time is required to fix the rooflight to the structure. The fixings required for installation are supplied pre-fitted to the glazing. Key Benefits High security dome rooflight Lock-bolt security system Designed for horizontal membrane finish Polycarbonate impact resistant glazing High performance insulated kerb The factory fitted security caps on Alumasc B Range encase each of the fixings, offering more reliable waterproofing and reducing the likelihood of forced entry through the rooflight. Superior thermal insulation is achieved by the combined properties of the cellular PVC kerb and double or triple skin polycarbonate glazing. New kerb for fast efficient installation Unique to the flat roofing market, the Alumasc kerb is designed to allow roof coverings to be terminated horizontally at the upper edge of the kerb wall. This practice improves the weathering detail of the rooflight. Water ingress is virtually impossible as the waterproofing membrane can be applied to the full height of the kerb and terminated horizontally. When the glazing is fitted to the kerb using the lock-bolt security system the waterproofing membrane is secured firmly in place. Alumasc B Range rooflights are available in a curved dome or pyramid profile and in a wide range of sizes. A complete range of ventilation options is also available. Alumasc B Range is suited to applications such as schools, hospitals, sports and leisure centres, private houses, offices and other heated buildings where insulation, weatherability and security are important factors. 5mm high kerb Kerb Profile Cellular PVC, cellular dome Curved dome, circular dome, trapezoidal or pyramid profile Tint Ventilation (See page ) Clear, bronze or opal tint or textured glazing option Hit & miss trickle vent Manual or electrical openings Access hatch Fire Rating BS 76 Part 7: Class (99) Class 0 Tp(a)
