TECHNICAL INFORMATION P8/0713 vitroflex NOISE BARRIER features Methacrylate cast sheets special for acoustic insulations. Vitroflex NOISE BARRIER sheets placed in a sound barrier to protect a residential area of road traffic noise. PROPERTIES This product is designed for applications where a transparent acoustic insulation is required. High durability, the physical and chemical properties remain unchanged over time. Lighter than most materials with similar optical qualities. High breaking strength. It allows being slightly cold-bended. Easy cleaning. Page 1 of 7

APPLICATIONS Construction elements similar to walls (noise barriers) to attenuate the noise: Road traffic Railway traffic Other noises not linked to transport but that cause discomfort to your environment Installation of vitroflex NOISE BARRIER sheet OPERATION Can be stuck, folded, thermoformed, drilled, polished, milled, etc. just as the standard quality Vitroflex. The assembly is very important for optimum results. The piece must be fixed well with elastic joints, and dimensional changes due to temperature must be respected (see linear expansion coefficient). The protective film can be kept during the entire production line, including the thermoformed. 1 Maximum 80 C working temperature. 1 It is advisable to run previous tests because heating temperatures and timing should be adjusted in order to get optimum results. Page 2 of 7

MAINTENANCE It is recommended to clean with a soft brush supplied with soft water. Never dry clean or with aggressive products or not neutral soaps. The use of glass washers with alcohol or other similar products may negatively affect the properties and reduce the service life. If desired a strong cleaning, for example for the removal of graffiti, is recommended to consult the chemical resistance of Vitroflex table, do a test on a piece, and preferably use only products recommended by the manufacturer. In case the surface has small scratches due to the daily use, they can be removed using a specific polish for car bodies that is used manually. If deep scratches appear or if it is necessary to polish large surfaces, it is advisable to use an orbital eccentric polishing machine. RANGE Size: They are manufactured according to the European standard of 3050 x 2050 mm. Custom-cut sizes can be supplied. Types and colours: vitroflex XT NOISE BARRIER is the most common by the possibility of having great lengths at a competitive price. Can be supplied in colour from 3000 Kg. vitroflex CAST NOISE BARRIER is used when required coloured in quantities of less than 3000 Kg or special properties such as resistance superior to certain agents. vitroflex REINFORCED is specially designed for application in bridges and flyovers where is required by Directive 89/106/EEC compliance. Thickness: Standard are 15-20 mm. Various factors should be considered to calculate the necessary thickness. Among them the force of the wind in the area where will be placed, the distance between supports, the type of fixation of the plate to the bracket, the fixing points and the required acoustic attenuation. It can be produced with other thicknesses on request. Page 3 of 7

QUALITY Products certified according to standards: 14388:2007 Road traffic noise devices. IN 1793-2:1997 and EN 1793-3: 1997 Road traffic noise devices. IN 1794-1:2011 and in 1794-2: 2011 Road traffic noise reducing devices: Non acoustic performance. 14389-1:2008 and EN 14389-2:2004 Road traffic noise reducing devices.
