This position is responsible for executing and monitoring compliance related processes in the business system, serving as a liaison on business system related issues for internal and external auditors, functioning as an overall SAP technology subject matter expert and managing aspects of that technology, managing quality assurance and testing resources, and facilitating and enforcing standards for the usability of the business system. This position will use SAP project management methodology to manage individual projects. This individual will provide leadership in security, audit and control of emerging SAP technologies to the University of Nebraska and Nebraska State College (NSCS) SAP system. This position will identify and document risk, develop suitable controls to manage and control risk in the context of the SAP business system. Other important tasks will involve recovery planning, security strategy implementation and integration, remediating SAP authorizations to ensure compliance. This position will also manage testing and quality assurance processes. This position will work with Business Process Improvement teams and document findings. Problem Solving/Decision-making This position is responsible for identifying all the areas in SAP that need special attention in terms of compliance and risk analysis. This includes when and how to coordinate with external vendors with expert tools or consulting resources to allow the University SAP implementation to stay current with the latest methods in compliance conformance. It is recognized that the position will grow along with the ability of the organization to adopt new compliance standards. After scrutinizing and measuring the vulnerabilities and aligning a risk matrix this position will then implement controls policies and procedures to ensure the daily running of the University is carried out with minimal levels of risk. This position will assist in the resolution of issues revealed by the quality assurance process. Strategic Impact The goal of compliance is to effectively implement policies, procedures and controls within an organization to manage risk. The University would like to prevent fraud and financial loss while complying with State and Federal regulations.
